Chapter 918: Chapter 41 Awkward Moments_2
Xuan Yue walked behind Ah Dai, jumped with effort, wrapped her arms around Ah Dai’s neck, and hung on him giggling, "Let’s go, Dai Dai, you have to carry me."
Ah Dai gave a bitter smile, helplessly hooked his arms under Xuan Yue’s knees, and carried her on his back. Fortunately, his Tian Gang Sword and the heavy bow were stored inside the Dragon’s Blood; otherwise, the burden would be too much even for him. His powers had fully recovered by now. With the help of the elves’ source and the near-death battle he had survived earlier, Ah Dai’s skills had slightly improved. His True Qi was more robust than before, and the liquid energy in his Dantian had increased considerably.
Yan Shi laughed heartily and said, "Let’s go, Yan Li, you lead the way with your axe."
Yan Li grunted helplessly, dissatisfied, "Why is it always me who gets hurt?"
Xuan Yue laughed, "Who else has an axe as powerful as yours? Big Brother Yan Shi needs to find the path, Ah Dai has to carry me, so naturally, you’re the one to clear the way. Do you have any objections?"
Yan Li chuckled and replied, "All three of us have a job, then what about you, little sister Xuan Yue? What will you do?"
Xuan Yue asserted proudly, "Me? My job is the heaviest. I am carrying the food for all of us, and I need to discern the direction too. You wouldn’t want to get lost, would you? Hurry up, Big Brother Yan Li who isn’t even as tall as me."
Rendered speechless by her retort, Yan Li could only pull out his axes and reluctantly began clearing the path. Yan Shi followed him, continuously assessing the terrain. Ah Dai, carrying Xuan Yue, walked last. The weight of Xuan Yue was insignificant for him. All he needed to do was follow Yan Shi, which was relatively easier.
All three, being martial arts experts, found the rugged path minimally challenging. After half a day, they had crossed three tall mountains in the gully and entered the Tian Gang Mountain Range.
The climate inside the Tian Gang Mountain Range was pleasant. Despite the hot weather, the air was exceptionally fresh, and tall plants provided shade, making their journey more comfortable than trekking across the plains. Occasionally, some small animals sprinted past them, offering a different kind of fun. Yan Li tried to catch a small animal a few times to spice up their food, but Xuan Yue stopped him. Her reason was that they should not kill animals that were living well. Moved by her gentle persuasion, Yan Li reluctantly gave up.
The sound of flowing water suddenly reached their ears, like celestial music washing their souls. Though unseen, they were already deeply enthroned by it. Almost simultaneously, they ran towards the sound of the water.
What they saw was a clear stream; the water seeped out from a crevice in a nearby mountain, gathering in a small pool, from which the spring water trickled down, nourishing the surrounding life.
"How wonderful, I want to bathe," Xuan Yue exclaimed as she jumped down from Ah Dai’s back and rushed toward the pool. With a splash, she jumped into the knee-deep water. The icy spring water soothed her body, and the weariness of several days seemed to vanish in a moment. She continuously frolicked with the water in the pool, her laughter melodious and engaging.
Yan Shi coughed, pulling Yan Li to turn away, avoiding facing the direction of the pool. Once wet, Xuan Yue’s White Mage Robe clung to her forming curves. The sixteen-year-old girl was sufficiently developed, and with Xuan Yue’s charming face, even the dullest onlooker could be captivated by the beauty of the moment.
Ah Dai stared blankly at the frolicking Xuan Yue in the pool, momentarily enchanted. In his eyes, she resembled a joyous angel, utterly mesmerizing.
Xuan Yue realized her oversight, and gasped, quickly crouching in the water, her cheeks flushing red as she scolded Ah Dai, "What are you looking at? Stop it, turn around now."
Ah Dai came out of his daze, agreed hurriedly, and turned to one side. Yan Li secretly laughed and said, "Let’s leave this spot to Yue Yue, then. We better go downstream to drink some water."
Yan Shi smiled wryly, "Wouldn’t that mean drinking Yue Yue’s bathwater?"
Ah Dai scratched his head and said, "I—I’ll go down first." He felt waves of heat surging to his head; Xuan Yue’s earlier appearance was too alluring. The glimpses of her fair skin, that delicate figure, he dared not think further; it felt as if heat was about to burst out of his nose, and some parts of his body involuntarily reacted, frightening him into running to a lower spot downstream, continually splashing his face with the cold spring water to regain his clarity.
From the pool, the sound of water flowing continued, evidently as Xuan Yue thoroughly cleansed her delicate body. For someone who cherished cleanliness, not bathing for days was far more unbearable than death. Finding such an opportunity at last, she inevitably wanted to enjoy it a little longer.
Yan Shi and Yan Li sat next to Ah Dai, casually washing in the spring water and resting comfortably.
"Ah Dai, what exactly did you see just now? I think I saw your nose bleeding. Was it too much for you? Lucky I didn’t watch, or else I might have ended up with a sty," teased Yan Li, poking at Ah Dai’s body with a mischievous smile.
