Chapter 906: Chapter 38 Achieving Beauty for Adults_5

Ah Dai stood up, sighed, and said, "I lost. Lan Yin is yours now, and I apologize to you. The Yalan race is indeed a powerful race. Because of my previous arrogance, I give up the chance to select a bride from the Yalan race." Having said this, he immediately left the scene before the crowd could react. As he passed by Lan Yin, he heard her deliberately lowered voice, "Thank you for allowing this to happen."

Ah Dai returned to Yan Shi’s side, and the three quickly squeezed out of the crowd. Now, no one was paying attention to them, for the people of the Yalan race were cheering for their hero—Aguti.

After getting out of the crowd, Ah Dai breathed a sigh of relief. "Brother Yan Shi, I didn’t mess up the lines just now, did I?"

Yan Shi couldn’t help but laugh, "You’ve been reciting them all afternoon; if you made a mistake, that would have been amazing."

Yan Li was confused and said, "What’s going on here? Brother Ah Dai, that last kid didn’t seem to have anything special about him. How could you lose to him?"

Ah Dai and Yan Shi exchanged a smile. In fact, after Kundu’s victory in the afternoon, Yan Shi felt an unusual sense of oppression. He understood the pain of lovers who could not be together due to their differing statuses. So, when Ah Dai won the right to select a bride, the two hatched a plan for Ah Dai to deliberately provoke the Yalan race and then lose to Aguti, in order to bring him and Lan Yin together. Only the clever Lan Yin had seen through their ruse.

"Hey, Brother Yan Shi, where did Yue Yue go?"

Yan Shi slapped his forehead in a panic and said, "Ah! Not good, Ah Dai, you should go look for Xuan Yue. Right after you chose Lan Yin, she ran away crying. It seems that this little girl really has feelings for you. Yue Yue is a good girl; you can’t let her down."

Ah Dai didn’t quite understand Yan Shi’s words, but when he heard that Xuan Yue had run away, he was startled and exclaimed, "What? Yue Yue ran away crying? She... I... Ah—"

Upon learning which direction Xuan Yue had left in, Ah Dai was burning with anxiety, and he ran after her desperately. Knowing that Xuan Yue was crying, his heart ached terribly, and as he ran, he murmured, "Yue Yue, please don’t let anything happen to you!" He continued to sprint until he stopped by the Oasis, panting and looking around, but he didn’t see Xuan Yue.

Just as Ah Dai was becoming extremely worried, a low sobbing sound reached his ears not far away. It sounded exactly like Xuan Yue’s voice. Overjoyed, Ah Dai quickly followed the sound. He circled around a tent and finally found the petite figure of Xuan Yue. She was sitting alone behind the tent, facing the Oasis, hugging her knees, and sobbing. Seeing her thin and lonely figure, Ah Dai’s heart ached terribly. He quietly approached and squatted behind Xuan Yue, laid his hands on her fragrant shoulders, and softly said, "Yue Yue, what’s wrong?" Having found Xuan Yue, his heart finally settled, and he breathed a great sigh of relief.

Xuan Yue suddenly looked up, sniffled with her red nose, and choked, "You’re mean, go away! What are you doing here? Go to your bride."

"Yue Yue, stop crying, it’s all my fault, listen to me, let me explain!" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"I don’t want to hear it, I hate you, go away, you’re so annoying." Xuan Yue cried and hit Ah Dai’s chest repeatedly with her little hands. Just thinking about Ah Dai becoming someone else’s husband made her feel unbearably sad.

Ah Dai grabbed Xuan Yue’s hands and said blankly, "Yue Yue, what’s wrong? Who’s made you so angry? Tell me, I’ll avenge you."

Struggling to free her small hands, Xuan Yue wiped the tears from her face and snapped angrily, "You still ask, who else would upset me but you? You’re to blame, you’re to blame." With that, she grabbed the Angel Wand from the ground and swung at Ah Dai. He raised his arm to block, and the sharp wings of the Angel Wand cut through his clothes, leaving a gash on his arm from which blood flowed, staining his sleeve red.

Seeing Ah Dai bleeding, Xuan Yue abruptly stopped, looked at Ah Dai blankly, suddenly threw down the Angel Wand, and buried her face in her knees, crying loudly.

Ah Dai stopped the bleeding in his arm, enduring the pain, and said, "Yue Yue, don’t cry, tell me what happened? Why did you run out here alone, and why are you crying?" He simply couldn’t understand what he had done wrong to make Xuan Yue so angry and could only ask in a low and apologetic tone.
