Yan Shi saw that Ah Dai had woken up and spoke softly, "Get up quickly, people from the Elf Clan are here."
Having slept, Ah Dai had regained quite a bit of strength. He nodded, just as he tried to get up, but then he noticed that he was holding something in his hand. He suddenly remembered the scene before he fell asleep. Looking up, he saw Xuan Yue watching him with concern, as he lay on her soft thighs. Their eyes met, and both Ah Dai and Xuan Yue unconsciously looked away. Xuan Yue withdrew her little hand from Ah Dai’s grasp, her face slightly red, whispering, "Get up, please."
Ah Dai responded, and suddenly felt that there was something more between him and Xuan Yue, but he couldn’t clearly say what it was.
When he stood up, he noticed six Elves in the treehouse, all appearing middle-aged, with two being female. One of them, in particular, gave him a special feeling; even though she was smiling, she exuded a subtle authority and was staring straight at him. Her beauty was distinctly different from the Fairy he had seen earlier. It was a dignified, elegant beauty, radiating a surprising charm. Without thinking, Ah Dai blurted, "Auntie, you are so beautiful!"
Yan Shi pulled Ah Dai aside and whispered, "Don’t be rude, this is Her Majesty, the Elf Queen."
No woman dislikes being praised for her beauty, and the Elf Queen was no exception. She smiled gently and said, "That’s alright. Young friend, I thank you on behalf of the Elf Clan for saving our clan member."
Ah Dai scratched his head and said, "I, I, Auntie, I am not good with words. I just thought they were bad people."
The Elf Queen sighed, "Yes, they are bad people. Our Elf Clan has always lived peacefully, yet they have abducted our people." Her expression grew somber, as if she recalled something sad. She turned to the elf named Aodi and said, "Aodi, please tell everyone about the situation, I am a bit tired."
Aodi replied gently, "Your Majesty, you should go back and rest first."
The Elf Queen shook her head and closed her eyes, her long eyelashes quivering gently on her melancholic eyelids.
Taking a step forward, Aodi said, "Ladies and gentlemen of the Elf Clan, I truly appreciate your previous assistance. I am Aodi, the Grand Elf Envoy of the Elf Clan. Let me introduce you to Tian Ying, whom you’ve already met. These three are also Grand Elf Envoys from our Clan." He pointed to another female elf and said, "This is Grand Elf Envoy Ruo Yan."
Ruo Yan nodded to everyone and said to Ah Dai, "Young friend, I must thank you for saving my daughter."
Ah Dai was startled, "Your daughter?"
Ruo Yan smiled and said, "The one you met earlier, Ruo Ma."
Ah Dai then remembered the Elf Mage girl who had seen him using the Sword of Hades, saying, "Auntie, don’t mention it."
Aodi pointed to two other middle-aged Elves and said, "These two are Grand Elf Envoys Sidi and Biears." Both Grand Elf Envoys nodded to the crowd, who quickly returned the gesture.
Except for Ah Dai, everyone was quite astonished. Even though Moon Scar and the others were visiting the Elf Forest for the first time, they were aware of the significant position a Grand Elf Envoy held within the Elves, not to mention that the supreme Queen of the Elf Clan was also present.
Aodi sighed, seemingly troubled as he said, "Friends, our Elf Clan is facing a very tricky situation, and we seek your help. Would you be willing to assist us?"
Moon Scar asked, "What troubles the Elf Clan so much?"
Aodi explained, "It’s a long story. We Elves have been living peacefully in the Elf Forest, self-sufficient and content. We’ve never provoked any race, including humans. They targeted Elves who were alone, and even with our vigilant defense, dozens of our kin have been abducted so far. The most heartbreaking part is that my Queen’s and my daughter—Xing Er has also been taken by them." Tears visibly welled up in Aodi’s eyes as he spoke.
The crowd was shocked, and Yan Shi exclaimed, "What? Princess Xing was also captured? But, she should have had many Elves protecting her!"
The Elf Queen sighed deeply, opening her eyes and said, "It’s all because that girl is too mischievous. She always felt suffocated being surrounded by so many people and used her Elf Magic to sneak out of the Elf City secretly. By the time we realized, she had already vanished from the Elf Forest, surely taken by those foreigners. Xing Er is only seventy-two this year, equivalent to a fourteen or fifteen-year-old human girl. I dare not think what might have befallen her. This time, along with several Grand Elf Envoys, I’ve come hoping to enlist your strength to bring Xing Er back." She spoke as tears flowed down her cheeks, her body trembling slightly. Aodi embraced the Elf Queen, overcome with emotion.
Ah Dai stepped forward, consoling, "Auntie, please don’t cry. Your daughter will be alright. I, I promise you, I’ll bring her back to see you."
Moon Scar frowned, thinking that Ah Dai was being too impulsive. With the vast world out there, how could they possibly find her? And those who had kidnapped the Elf Princess, could they really be dealt with so easily? With this in mind, he spoke, "Your Majesty, we really want to help you find your daughter. However, I have a question. With your and the several Grand Elf Envoys’ capabilities, few on the continent can match you. Any one of you alone is far stronger than all of us combined. Why then do you seek our help? Our current strength may not even qualify us."
