Chapter 87: Chapter 21: Hades’ Evil Sword_5

Ah Dai took the steamed bun, saying, "Since we are cooperating with them, why can’t we be sincere with each other? Hiding everything doesn’t seem right."

Xuan Yue rolled her eyes at him and said in a low voice: "What do you understand? My father taught me, ’You should not harbor ill intensions towards others, but you must always guard against others.’ Better to be cautious. I particularly dislike that Yue Ji. She’s obviously not a good character. Stay away from her. Understood?"

Ah Dai nodded, saying: "I understand." He thought to himself: I found her much nicer than you. At least, she seems to have a better temper.

Xuan Yue scooted out from the tent, and ran to Moon Scar, "Is the fire still not lit after all this time?"

Moon Scar replied: "It’s summertime, the air is quite humid. Even though it’s warm, it’s very damp here, and the firewood is not drying properly. I’m afraid we’re going to have to eat some dry rations tonight."

Xuan Yue grinned, saying: "You guys really are silly! Did you forget? We happen to have a Fire Mage amongst us! Ah Dai, quickly, build a fire for everyone."

Ah Dai responded, and approached the pile of firewood, was about to chant a spell, but was interrupted by Miao Fei. He said, "Ah Dai, this is your mistake. You have such a convenient fire magic, why didn’t you come and help sooner? You’ve made us busy ourselves with this for half a day."

Just as Ah Dai was about to explain, Xuan Yue interrupted, "Our Ah Dai might be a bit slow, but it’s not your place to scold him."

Miao Fei’s expression slightly changed, but as soon as he looked at Xuan Yue’s delicate face, his anger immediately disappeared.

Moon Scar intervened, calming things down: "Okay, okay, Ah Dai, let us see your magic."

Ah Dai, hearing Xuan Yue defend him, felt a stir in his heart. He agreed and started chanting, "Aye great fire throughout the universe! Grant me the power to blaze, by my name, call upon your strength, appear now, scorching flames." A "shhhh" sound was heard as a deep blue flame immediately appeared in Ah Dai’s palm. To Moon Scar and the rest of the mercenaries who had never truly experienced magic, the sudden appearance of the flame gave them quite a shock. As the surrounding temperature soared, everyone besides Xuan Yue instinctively took a few steps back.

"Wow, such beautiful blue flames! Brother Ah Dai, you’re amazing." The one speaking was Yue Ji. As soon as she saw the flame spell, she disregarded her bow, hopped over, and landed beside Ah Dai. Ah Dai held his hands out in front of him, stimulating the True Qi within his body, gently blew towards the flame, and a small blue fireball flew out, landing atop the pile of firewood.

The temperature of the blue flames was very high. Within moments, it not only dispersed the moisture from the firewood, but also ignited the campfire. As the crackling sound of firewood burning filled the air, the space was immediately illuminated by a bonfire. With the glow of the red flames, Xuan Yue’s face appeared even more charming. Miao Fei was entranced, and even Moon Scar was left in commotion. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

After being encouraged by the flames, everyone enjoyed the steamed buns Ah Dai had brought out. Nobody suspected anything; they assumed Ah Dai had brought the buns from his own supplies.

After the meal, Xuan Yue pulled Ah Dai into her own tent. Before Ah Dai could ask what was going on, Xuan Yue’s hand revealed something. It was the sauce-flavored meat they had bought in the city yesterday.

"Here, eat it quickly."

Ah Dai was taken aback, "Why didn’t you bring it out earlier?"

Xuan Yue glared at him, "Who is as silly as you? This is ours, why should we let them eat it? It’s already quite good to let them eat steamed buns. They have nothing to do with me. But you, you are my follower. If you don’t maintain good health, how can you protect me? Eat it quickly, go to sleep after that."

Although Ah Dai was still somewhat puzzled, he ate the flavored meat. Regardless, the taste of meat was definitely better than the steamed buns. Moreover, the three buns he ate earlier did not fill his stomach.

"Miss, I’ll go now."

"Hmmph, I even shared some flavored meat with you, and you’re still calling me ’Miss.’ Can’t you change it to something else? I demand you, call me Yue Yue."

Ah Dai hesitated for a while, "But I’m your follower! Isn’t it better to call you Miss?"

Xuan Yue pouted: "Miss, Miss, hmph! Get out, annoying."
