Chapter 85: Chapter 21 Hades Evil Sword_3

A glint of delight flashed in Miao Fei’s eyes as he smiled and said, "Hello Miss, my name is Miao Fei. I am eighteen years old, handsome, and suave. Ever the bachelor, though... perhaps you are...?"

Moon Scar coughed at the awkwardness and said to Xuan Yue, "Miss Magician, could you introduce yourself? We don’t even know your names yet."

Xuan Yue shot Miao Fei a side glance and said, "My name is Xuan Yue, and this is my friend Ah Dai. He specializes in Fire Magic."

Friend? Ah Dai was puzzled. It hadn’t crossed his mind that Xuan Yue would introduce him that way. He took a step forward and greeted, "Hello, everyone."

Upon hearing Ah Dai’s name, Yue Ji smiled and said, "Your name is quite peculiar! Ah Dai, is that right?" Moon Scar let his gaze linger on the hilt of the sword peeking out from Ah Dai’s shoulder, a strange light flickering in his eyes.

Ah Dai nodded slightly, he didn’t dare look directly into Yue Ji’s intimidating eyes, instead lowered his head towards Xuan Yue.

Xuan Yue cast an unpleased glance at Yue Ji, she declared "Let’s get going." Taking Ah Dai by his sleeve, she took the lead, walking out of the city.

Once they had left the city, Moon Scar pulled out a map from his bosom, looking at it he said, "The Death Mountain Range is to the southwest. If we want to get there, we have to go through the territories of the Pu Yan Clan and the Tian Yuan Clan. If we hurry, we should get there within half a month or so. Miss Xuan Yue, do you have any suggestions?"

Xuan Yue was a bit surprised and said, "Can’t we just go directly there? Why do we need any suggestions?"

Moon Scar stated, "I haven’t been to the Tian Yuan Clan, so I’m not sure about their situation. But the Pu Yan Clan is quite peculiar, even within the Federation, they rarely interact with other races and only live in their own territory. They seem not to welcome outsiders, and the people of the Pu Yan Clan are quite aloof. I’ve been there once, ah, it was such a miserable experience. You can’t even buy anything there, nobody would sell you anything."

Moon Scar’s words piqued Xuan Yue’s interest. "So, the Pu Yan Clan must have some secrets. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so unsociable."

Moon Scar nodded and said, "Probably. We’re just passing through, as long as we don’t conflict with them, nothing should happen. The situation in the Tian Yuan Clan territory is even more complex. Various races live there, each with its own habits. The journey might not be so smooth! We better be cautious."

Unconcerned, Xuan Yue said, "What is there to be scared of? There will be a way out when we get there. Why worry about problems that haven’t arrived? Also, we’re moving way too slowly. Shouldn’t we hire a horse carriage? It would be faster and less tiring."

Moon Scar laughed and said, "What? Hire a horse carriage? I have never heard of mercenaries traveling by carriage. Mercenaries rarely even ride horses unless they’re part of a big group like the Red Hurricane Mercenary Corps that has its own cavalry troops. We don’t really need a carriage. If it becomes necessary, we can just buy a few horses in the next city."

Xuan Yue muttered, "There are so many restrictions for mercenaries! Why can’t they ride in carriages? I will ride in one, no matter what."

While Xuan Yue and Moon Scar were talking, Yue Ji moved closer to Ah Dai, she looked up at him who was much taller than her and flirtatiously smiled saying, "Hello Ah Dai, my name is Yue Ji."

Ah Dai stammered, feeling a bit helpless, Yue Ji was the second girl he had encountered since stepping on this continent, and she seemed much more mature than Xuan Yue, "Ah, hello, Miss Yue Ji."

Yue Ji thought to herself, ’no wonder he’s called Ah Dai, he’s indeed a bit straightforward.’ She then asked, "Ah Dai, why do you carry such a big sword? It’s almost five feet long, isn’t it?"

Just as Ah Dai was about to answer, Xuan Yue interrupted, "His sword is just for decoration, or for cutting a path through things. It’s mainly just for show, it’s nothing compared to the weapons of your mercenary warriors."

Wan Li commented, "I suppose. Although, brother Ah Dai’s sword is longer than mine, and it seems quite heavy! Brother Ah Dai, of all the mages, you must be one of the physically strongest."

Ah Dai glanced at Xuan Yue. He didn’t understand why they needed to hide the fact that he knew martial arts when they were supposed to be cooperating. However, he didn’t dispute and just nodded slightly at Wan Li.

Due to Xuan Yue’s lack of stamina, every once in a while she would demand a rest. They walked for a whole day and still didn’t reach the next city. As the curtain of the night began to fall, the moon, like a pearl, gradually took the place of the setting sun, causing the light to faint rapidly.

Moon Scar looked up at the darkening sky and said to Xuan Yue, "Miss Xuan Yue, it seems we will have to camp in the wild tonight. We are still within the territory of our Red Charming Clan, we are moving too slowly. Tomorrow, in the next city, we should really buy some horses."

The mention of camping outside instantly lit up Xuan Yue’s big eyes, she flipped up her cloak, smiling, "Perfect! Let’s camp. Where should we set up?"

Seeing Xuan Yue’s dreamy smile, Moon Scar momentarily lost his words. To cover his embarrassment, he quickly said, "For camping, generally we should find a place sheltered from the wind, clear an area, and that should be good."

Yue Ji pointed to a forest by the roadside, "Big brother, why don’t we stay there? I don’t think there will be any wind tonight."

Moon Scar nodded in agreement, leading everyone into the forest. Under the bright moonlight, shadows of uneven, wavering trees filled the forest. The occasional rustling of leaves in a faint breeze added a touch of mystery to the otherwise silent forest. The Moon Scar siblings, Wan Li and Miao Fei deftly unpacked their bags and took out tents made of soft cowhide. In a short while, four small tents were set up. Moon Scar somehow found rocks to secure the tent corners. The four tents formed a circle, leaving an open space of about ten square meters in the middle.
