Chapter 847: Chapter 26 Tilu Temple_4
Just as the attack from both sides was about to take place, Prophet Pu Lin finally opened his eyes and said faintly, "Enough, stop." Two beams of blue light emanated from his body, piercing through the defenses of Xuan Yue and Ah Dai, and directly hitting the foreheads of the two Tilu warriors. The two Tilu warriors simultaneously withdrew their battle axes as if nothing had happened, returning to their original positions as the pressure also disappeared simultaneously.
Ah Dai and Xuan Yue both felt as though their bodies were leaning forward, with Ah Dai taking the brunt of the force, unable to help but spew a mouthful of fresh blood, kneeling weakly as he gasped loudly. Xuan Yue wasn’t much better off, her face pale, with sweat soaking her temples, her right hand tightly clutching the Phoenix’s Blood as she glared at Prophet Pu Lin.
Two soft white lights emitted from the hands of Prophet Pu Lin and swiftly enveloped Xuan Yue and Ah Dai. Under the influence of the light, both of them simultaneously felt a warm comfort throughout their bodies, indescribably pleasant, as if all previous fatigue and wounds had vanished. Ah Dai stood up, first glanced at Xuan Yue, who seemed somewhat baffled, before asking Prophet Pu Lin, "Prophet, what is going on?"
Prophet Pu Lin’s face revealed a gentle smile as he sighed, "Indeed, the union of good and evil, the unity of light and darkness, with the Phoenix’s Blood as the catalyst, passing through numerous barriers. We have finally met, you are the ones I have been waiting for thirty years!"
Not to mention Ah Dai’s confusion, even the extremely intelligent Xuan Yue was stunned. She demanded slightly annoyed, "Prophet Pu Lin, shouldn’t you explain to us?"
Prophet Pu Lin glanced at Xuan Yue, "Behind these two stone doors lies the secret that our Pu Yan Clan has preserved for a thousand years. The reason you could come here is purely because of the Sky God’s guidance. Children, once you follow me behind these two stone doors, your destinies will have already changed, everything will proceed in the direction guided by the Sky God. Let’s go; inside, I will tell you everything you want to know. Thirty years, I have finally waited for you." Having said that, he lightly waved his wooden staff and with a creak, two massive stone doors slowly opened, revealing darkness beyond. Prophet Pu Lin paused, then said, "Follow me." He then walked inside, seemingly burdened with worries.
Xuan Yue moved closer to Ah Dai, asked with concern, "How are you? Are you alright?"
Ah Dai, still shaken, glanced at the Tilu warriors by the stone door and shook his head, "I’m fine, let’s go."
Xuan Yue nodded; having come this far, there was no way back, they could only move forward. The two followed Prophet Pu Lin into the darkness behind the stone doors. The moment they stepped through, the doors behind them suddenly closed, with a loud noise echoing continuously in the spacious cave.
Xuan Yue shuddered, grabbing Ah Dai’s warm, broad hand, her voice slightly trembling, "Ah Dai, you, you must protect me!" In this mysterious and eerie temple, even someone as brave as Xuan Yue couldn’t help but feel scared.
It was the first time Ah Dai felt that Xuan Yue was so helpless and vulnerable, igniting a desire to protect within him. He tightened his grip on her hand, his body emitting a faint white light, enveloping both himself and Xuan Yue within it. Xuan Yue felt much warmer and more comfortable, her entire body leaning against Ah Dai as if that was her haven from the storm.
This was a lightless enclosed space, yet, surprisingly, it didn’t feel oppressive.
"In my name, by your power, go forth, Power of God." Prophet Pu Lin’s aged voice echoed, and suddenly, light appeared around them. Xuan Yue and Ah Dai noticed that they were in a not-so-large cave, and the light was emanating from gemstones embedded in the surrounding walls. The soft yellow glow brought light into the cave. Prophet Pu Lin stood in the middle of the cave, gazing at the stone wall in front of him. The surrounding walls, including the ceiling, were covered in wall paintings that looked vivid and lifelike under the radiant light from the gemstones, adding an air of mystery.
Slowly walking over to Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, Prophet Pu Lin sighed, "Children, this place records the millennia-long experiences of our Pu Yan Clan."
Xuan Yue frowned, "What do your Pu Yan Clan’s millennia-long experiences have to do with us, and why did you have to bring us here?"
Prophet Pu Lin did not directly answer Xuan Yue’s question, but smiled faintly, "Young lady, how old do you think I am this year?"
Xuan Yue paused, looking at him with confusion etched across her face, "You’re so old, you must be eighty or ninety years old."
Pu Lin’s eyes flashed a hint of sadness as he shook his head, "Clan Leader Yan Fei and I grew up together, he is sixty-two this year, and I, I am a year younger than him."
Xuan Yue and Ah Dai both looked at Pu Lin in surprise. Pu Lin smiled at himself and said, "Do you know why I look so old at only sixty-one?"
Ah Dai shook his head blankly, while Xuan Yue thoughtfully said, "Could it be because of your title as a prophet?"
Pu Lin nodded, "You’re right. As a prophet like me, and similar to the priests of your Holy Church, we are both the most loyal followers of the Sky God. In terms of strength, I am far less powerful than the church’s priests. However, I possess an ability that they do not." As he spoke, a twin spark of brilliance flashed in Pu Lin’s eyes, "What I have, is the ability to foresee the future. Our prophets of the Pu Yan clan hold absolute power within the clan, even the Clan Leader must obey the Prophet’s orders. There are over thirty tribes in the Pu Yan clan, and this is the largest one, where the Tilu Temple serves as the place for prophets to worship the Sky God and sense the future. There can only be one prophet at a time in the Pu Yan clan, always appointed by the previous prophet. I must say, I am the most talented prophet of all generations. You must know about the Blood Sun event that happened a few years ago, young lady from the Holy Church."
A thought struck Xuan Yue, and she exclaimed, "Are you talking about the Great Tribulation of a Millennium? How do you know I am from the Holy Church?"
Pu Lin smiled slightly, "Anyone with clear eyes can see that the Sacred Aura emanating from you is not something regular Light Magicians can possess. If I’m not mistaken, your elder must be a Red Robe Priest from the church. Moreover, for you to wear the church’s treasured Phoenix’s Blood, you must have an extraordinary relationship with the Pope. Am I right?"
Xuan Yue nodded blankly, "So, did you call us here because this is related to the Millennium Tribulation?"
Surprised, Ah Dai looked between Xuan Yue and Pu Lin, "What’s this Millennium Tribulation? And what does it have to do with the blood rain that happened five years ago?"
Xuan Yue scoffed, "When the Blood Sun reigns, demons shall rise, and when blood rains upon the world, calamity will ensue; the Millennium Tribulation is soon to descend upon the continent. Don’t you know this legend?"
Ah Dai, still confused, replied, "I don’t know. What does this Millennium Tribulation have to do with us?"
Pu Lin sighed, "If this had nothing to do with you, I would not have called you here. It was the Sky God who guided you to me, the great saviors of the Tribulation."
Before Ah Dai could react, Xuan Yue’s entire body was already trembling in shock, "What, what did you say? Are you saying that we are the saviors of this Millennium Tribulation?" She was very aware of what a Savior meant; on the day of the Blood Sun five years ago, the Pope had ordered all clergy to search for the upcoming Savior. The only guidance from the Pope contained the cryptic words, "Kindness, Evil, Dragon, Phoenix, Love." These few words baffled all the priests, and there had been no hints in five years. The Pope had once said that if the Savior could not be found, the whole world would be thrown into chaos, and the entire continent would be covered by storms of blood and wind.
Turning away, the prophet Pu Lin spoke with his back to Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, "Although the Pope is profoundly powerful in divine force, he still originated as a priest. I can clearly tell that you are the Savior not only because of my identity as a prophet but more importantly, because thirty years ago, long before the Blood Sun descended, I traded thirty years of my life to seek our Pu Yan clan’s fate, receiving even more detailed divine instructions about the Savior. That’s why I appear so old. I’m sixty-one this year, and with the additional thirty years, I naturally look like I am ninety-one. Child, speak out what you know about the Savior."
Xuan Yue was completely stunned, while Ah Dai by her side still didn’t understand what Pu Lin and Xuan Yue were talking about.
Xuan Yue said, "When the Pope confronted the Blood Sun, he obtained a slight clue about the Savior, but only a few vague words, ’Kindness, Evil, Dragon, Phoenix, Love.’" Although this was a secret of the church, Xuan Yue spoke it out. The aged prophet before her filled her with a sense of reverence.
