Chapter 845: Chapter 26: Tilu Temple_2

Yan Fei was momentarily stunned and asked, "Prophet Pu Lin, who is the noble person you’re speaking of?"

Prophet Pu Lin lifted the black cloak from his head, revealing a head full of white hair. His aged face was lined with wrinkles, but his eyes were exceptionally clear, as if they could see through everything. Even Xuan Yue, who held everything in scant regard, couldn’t help but lower her head when she saw those eyes. In the hall, only Ah Dai could meet his gaze without being affected. Prophet Pu Lin scanned Ah Dai and the others with a glance and said, "This person has already appeared, among these foreign travelers. But it is a matter of divine secrecy, which cannot be lightly disclosed. Please, Clan Leader, treat these foreigners well. Starting from tomorrow, let them interact with Yan Shi, and surely they will help him emerge from his sorrow. However, before that, you must ensure Yan Shi’s safety."

A hint of joy appeared in Yan Fei’s eyes as he said, "Thank you, Prophet Pu Lin. Yan Ju, Yan Li, tonight you will lead our warriors in protecting Yan Shi’s safety."

Yan Li, somewhat puzzled, said, "Respected Prophet Pu Lin, if among these people there’s the noble one for Brother Yan Shi, why not let them be with Brother Yan Shi now? Wouldn’t they then be able to help Brother Yan Shi recover faster?"

Prophet Pu Lin smiled kindly and said, "Yan Li, you’re still so impulsive. All is arranged by the will of heaven, and I must not say more. Go and do as the Clan Leader commands."

Yan Ju tugged at Yan Li and said, "We will heed the Clan Leader’s instructions."

Yan Fei looked at Prophet Pu Lin thoughtfully and said to Ah Dai and the others, "Very well, Yan Li, take these foreigners to rest first. Come tomorrow morning, we will follow the Prophet’s method and have our guests interact with Yan Shi."

Yan Li agreed with a nod, his gaze toward Ah Dai and the others softened, and he said lightly, "Please, this way."

Just as Ah Dai and the others were about to leave with Yan Li and Yan Ju, Prophet Pu Lin suddenly said, "Wait a moment."

Everyone looked back in confusion, turning to Pu Lin, who said, "This young man and this lady, please stay behind. I have something to tell you."

Without Pu Lin pointing it out directly, both Ah Dai and Xuan Yue felt that Pu Lin was speaking to them. Xuan Yue asked, "Is there something you can’t tell us now?" In Xuan Yue’s eyes, this old prophet was the only person, other than the Red Robe Priest and the Pope, who could make her feel apprehensive, so her speech naturally became much more polite.

Prophet Pu Lin smiled faintly and said, "Some things must be said to you alone. Are you unwilling to listen to this old man’s ramblings?"

Prophet Pu Lin’s kind smile deeply touched Ah Dai, filling his heart with warmth like a rising tide. Although it was their first meeting, it felt as though they had known each other for a very long time.

Moon Scar made a signal with her eyes to Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, saying, "Since the Prophet has something to tell you, we’ll go back first."

Yan Fei coughed and said, "Yan Ju, Yan Li, why not take the guests to rest quickly? You are responsible for Yan Shi’s safety tonight; make sure there are no mistakes."

Yan Ju and Yan Li exchanged glances, bowed and said, "Yes." After that, they led Moon Scar and the others back the way they had come, toward the outside of the Tilu Temple. Only Ah Dai and Xuan Yue remained.

Prophet Pu Lin closed his eyes and said, "It is now evening, time for dinner. Clan Leader, you have things to attend to, remember my words."

Although Yan Fei was the Clan Leader of the Pu Yan tribe, he seemed to have great respect for the aged priest, and upon hearing these words, he nodded slightly and said, "Then I will take my leave, Prophet Pu Lin." After speaking, he quickly exited. In the temple hall, other than the still, unmoving Tilu warriors, only Xuan Yue, Ah Dai, and the mysterious Prophet Pu Lin remained.

Prophet Pu Lin walked down the steps from the platform, his body trembling, appearing extremely frail as though entirely dependent on the Wooden Staff in his hand for support.

Ah Dai, seeing Prophet Pu Lin’s faltering steps, felt a surge of compassion and hurriedly stepped forward to assist him. As his hands touched Prophet Pu Lin, a sharp gleam flashed in the Prophet’s eyes, and Ah Dai felt as though he was completely seen through, sending a chill throughout his body.

Prophet Pu Lin sighed and said, "I’m old, truly old, and my body is failing. Come, children, I will take you somewhere." After speaking, he turned his head to the platform he had just descended from and beckoned to Xuan Yue, gesturing her to come over. Comparatively, Xuan Yue was much more vigilant than Ah Dai; from Prophet Pu Lin’s request for them to stay and his attitude toward Yan Fei, it was clear that this white-haired elder held an extremely exalted position in the Pu Yan tribe. And why would he specifically ask to keep her and Ah Dai, two outsiders? Weren’t the Pu Yan tribe known for their dislike of outsiders? While thinking this, Xuan Yue still went over. She didn’t know why she would go so readily, but she also understood that Prophet Pu Lin held no malice toward her and Ah Dai.

Prophet Pu Lin looked at Xuan Yue, who had come to his side, and said, "Young lady, do you have any reservations about this old man? I’ll tell you, the Tilu Temple is the most sacred place of our Pu Yan tribe. Here, one absolutely cannot perform any sordid acts, otherwise, one will surely receive the punishment of the Sky God. Ah, children, I have been waiting for you for a long time." While speaking, Prophet Pu Lin suddenly emitted a powerful force, pulling Ah Dai and Xuan Yue tightly next to him. He lifted his Wooden Staff and murmured a few words of a Spell. With a flash of light, both Xuan Yue and Ah Dai felt they entered a strange world. Their bodies felt beyond their control, surrounded by inconceivable colors and luminous spots floating past them, a dizzying sensation overwhelming them. They wanted to shout but found themselves unable to make a sound, they wanted to struggle but could not control their bodies. Beside them, Prophet Pu Lin had his eyes closed, continuously chanting a Spell in a low voice.
