Chapter 83: Chapter 21 Hades’ Evil Sword_1
Ah Dai thought to himself, he’s about to embark for the Death Mountain Range, and he had no idea what kind of monsters existed there. To ensure his survival and return to Master Goris, he decided to embrace the learning. Uncle Owen was right, use the power for good, and it will be good. I just have to use the Sword of Hades against evil monsters, right? That’d be fighting evil with evil. Resolving this, Ah Dai undid the ties on his shirt, revealing the leather bag underneath.
A faint chill emanated from the black gem in the hilt of the Sword of Hades. Gritting his teeth, Ah Dai drew out the sword, sheath and all, fearing its evil aura might leak out. He activated the liquid life essence within himself wrapping the drawn sword completely. As the room brightened in the scintillating white light, the ancient sheath gave off a faint black mist, forming a stark contrast with the white life-force.
Even being wrapped in the life-force, the Sword of Hades out of its leather bag still brought down the room temperature significantly, causing Ah Dai to shiver from the cold.
Supporting the Sword of Hades with one hand, Ah Dai carefully removed the sheepskin scroll which held the method to practice the Netherworld Incantation from the leather bag.
Placing the Sword of Hades back to its original position, the evil aura disappeared, and Ah Dai breathed a sigh of relief. His hand, holding the sheepskin was trembling slightly. He was hardly certain what changes would take place after learning the Netherworld Incantation. Ah Dai thought, Uncle Owen would not harm me, since he wanted me to learn it, should be fine, right? Thinking thus, he unfolded the scroll without any further hesitation.
At first, Ah Dai was concerned about the complex sentences on the sheepskin, yet the moment he unfolded the parchment, he was entirely engrossed by the images within. There were no words on the sheepskin, only an extraordinarily intricate pattern with various odd symbols woven into it. At the centre of this pattern were two weird giant eyes that seemed to stare right at him.
It felt as if someone was speaking to him in his consciousness, and Ah Dai’s gaze couldn’t break away from the pattern on the sheet, as the voice became more and more distinct.
"The Sword of Hades, the world’s most evil sword, a divine artifact from the Netherworld, somehow ended up in the human realm. I, Feng Yuan, an alchemist, accidentally received this sword and learned the Netherworld Incantation, which controls the sword’s power. The Sword of Hades contains overwhelmingly evil aura, which is filled with the utmost evil and villainy, and those weak-willed or weakly skilled should never use this sword, lest they bring enormous misfortune upon themselves. The Netherworld Incantation consists of nine sentences, each coordinated with nine different sword moves. After receiving this sword, I only recorded the method to practice it and didn’t employ it. Thus I do not know its true power. However, the last three moves seem beyond human skills; don’t try them rashly, or you will be devoured and die. The mighty will be controlled by the Evil Sword and become a Demon King in the human world. Every time the Sword is drawn, it must absorb one soul before it can be sheathed. If you can’t kill the enemy, it will kill you. As you practice the Netherworld Incantation, cover yourself with your vitality. If you allow the evil aura to overflow, you can kill the enemy without hurting yourself. Measure your strength while practicing the Netherworld Incantation, you may learn the moves, but never use them rashly. Once the evil power inside the Sword is triggered, it could lead to an irreversible disaster. Remember, remember well."
The voice stopped, leaving Ah Dai in cold sweat. Although he didn’t know who Alchemist Feng Yuan was, he could vaguely guess that Feng Yuan must be a person who lived at least a thousand years ago. Learn the moves but do not use them rashly. But where were these moves? The moment this thought crossed his mind, the pattern on the sheepskin seemed to come alive. A vague move appeared in Ah Dai’s consciousness. The move kept changing, one after another appeared, but he didn’t need to memorize them deliberately. Nine shadowy figures have deeply imprinted themselves in Ah Dai’s mind.
After the ninth figure disappeared, Ah Dai’s vision suddenly brightened. The sheepskin’s pattern returned to its original state, as if nothing had happened. However, the nine figures were firmly embedded in Ah Dai’s memory. Ah Dai panted heavily. Though a short while had passed, his entire attire was already soaked in sweat. Waves of exhaustion kept hitting him, draining him of all his spiritual power. The sky outside was beginning to brighten, it seemed dawn was breaking. It felt like just an instant had gone by, but also as though an eternity had passed.
The nine figures in his mind blurred one by one, with each move appearing extremely simple. Each move was accompanied by a sentence. The first move needed him to bring out his short dagger while shifting his body directly from his chest and jabbing at the shadow he made in front, with the two passing each other without contact. This move was called the Nether Flash, and its incantation only had seven words – Hades Sword Technique: Heaven Earth Shaker.
Ah Dai got up, washed the cold sweat off his body in the bathroom, put on clean clothes, and then felt much better. Though his spiritual power had not recovered, he no longer felt drained. The Nether Flash? Hades Sword Technique: Heaven Earth Shaker? Should he just need to recite this sentence and stab the opponent with his sword? He made a motion with his empty hands and murmured: "Hades Sword Technique: Heaven Earth Shaker."
The moment he said the incantation, he felt the Sword of Hades in his chest vibrate slightly. A burst of cold rushed down his chest and branched out throughout his entire body. His body moved out instantly as per his thoughts. The Sword of Hades hummed inside the sheath, as though it was ready to be drawn.
Greatly alarmed, Ah Dai realized that if the Sword of Hades was drawn, it would release a large amount of evil aura, which was beyond his control. If the evil aura leaked out, probably no one within a hundred meters could escape his evil power. With this in mind, Ah Dai leaped onto his bed, took a deep breath, and rapidly called upon the liquid life essence from his Dantian, concentrating it to his chest area. Eventually, his chest area radiated an intense white light, with a slight silver glow, barely suppressing the vibration of the Sword of Hades.
