Chapter 824: Chapter 21 Hades Evil Sword_5

Ah Dai took the steamed bun and said, "Since we are collaborating with them, why can’t we treat them sincerely? Keeping everything hidden isn’t good."

Xuan Yue gave him a glance and whispered, "What do you know? Dad taught me that although you should not harbor intentions to harm others, you must always guard against them. It’s better to be cautious. I especially find Yue Ji displeasing to the eye; she doesn’t seem like a good person at all. You’re not allowed to have too much contact with her, understand?"

Ah Dai nodded and said, "I understand." He thought to himself: Why do I feel like she’s much nicer than you? At least she has a better temper.

Xuan Yue crawled out of the tent and ran to Moon Scar. "Has the fire still not been lit after all this time?"

Moon Scar replied, "It’s summer now, and the air is quite humid. Although the temperature is relatively high, it’s too moist here, and the firewood we fetched isn’t dry. I’m afraid we might have to eat cold dry rations today."

Xuan Yue giggled and said, "You guys are really silly! Have you forgotten that we have a Fire Mage among us? Ah Dai, come on, light the fire for everyone."

Ah Dai responded and walked to the pile of firewood. Just as he was about to chant the spell, he heard Miao Fei say, "Brother Ah Dai, that’s where you are wrong. With such a good solution as Fire Magic, why didn’t you come help earlier? Watching us busily wasting our time here."

Just as Ah Dai was about to explain, Xuan Yue cut him off: "Our Ah Dai is a bit slow, mind you. It’s not your place to criticize him."

Miao Fei’s face slightly changed, but as he looked at Xuan Yue’s delicate face, his anger instantly vanished.

Moon Scar tried to smooth things over: "Alright, alright, Brother Ah Dai, let’s see your magic."

When Ah Dai heard Xuan Yue speaking up for him, he was touched. He agreed and chanted, "O fire element that permeates the earth and sky! Grant me the power of combustion, in my name, by your force, appear, scorching flames." With a hiss, a deep blue flame suddenly appeared in the palm of Ah Dai’s hand. For Moon Scar and the other mercenarys, who had never seen magic’s power before, this sudden appearance of flame startled them. The temperature around them suddenly increased, and everyone except Xuan Yue instinctively stepped back.

"Wow, such beautiful blue flames! Brother Ah Dai, you’re amazing." The speaker was Yue Ji. As soon as she saw the Flame Spell, she left her bow behind and jumped over, landing next to Ah Dai. Ah Dai brought his hand forward, stimulated the True Qi within him, and gently blew on the flame. A small blue fire immediately flew out and landed on the pile of firewood.

The temperature of the blue flames was extremely high, and not only did it dispel the moisture on the firewood but it also ignited the fire. As the crackling of the burning firewood filled the air, the surroundings immediately lit up with a bonfire. Against the backdrop of the red flames, Xuan Yue’s pretty face seemed even more charming. Miao Fei’s eyes were fixed, and even Moon Scar couldn’t help but stare.

Under the baking of the flames, everyone ate the steamed buns that Ah Dai had produced, and no one was suspicious, thinking the steamed buns were what Ah Dai had brought in his bundle.

After the meal, Xuan Yue called Ah Dai into her tent. Just as Ah Dai was about to ask her what was the matter, Xuan Yue’s hand presented something—it was the sauce meat they had purchased in town yesterday.

"Here, eat it quickly."

Ah Dai was puzzled, "Why didn’t you bring it out earlier?"

Xuan Yue glared at him and said, "Who’s as foolish as you! This is ours, why should we share it with them? It’s already generous to let them eat steamed buns. They’re not related to me in any way, but you are my follower. How can you protect me if you don’t keep yourself in good condition? Eat quickly, then go back to sleep."

Although still somewhat confused, Ah Dai ate the sauce meat. The taste of the meat was much better than the steamed buns, especially since the three buns earlier hadn’t filled his stomach at all.

"Miss, I’ll go back now."

"Hmph, I gave you sauce meat to eat, and you still call me miss? Can’t you change the title? I order you to call me Yue Yue."

Ah Dai hesitated for a moment and said, "But, I’m your follower now! It’s better to call you Miss."

Xuan Yue pouted, "Miss, Miss, hmph. Just get out, annoying."
