Chapter 811: Chapter 19 Mercenary Guild_2

In a moment’s time, Ah Dai returned to his room, his face seemingly much paler. His injured left arm hung at his side, and in his right hand, he held a tray with breakfast on it.

Placing the breakfast in front of Xuan Yue, Ah Dai said, "Miss Xuan Yue, please have breakfast."

Xuan Yue glanced at him and said, "Aren’t you eating? Why is there so little?"

Ah Dai shook his head and replied, "I’m your attendant, how could I eat with you? I’ll eat outside. Call me if you need anything." With that, he turned and walked out.

Once outside the room, Ah Dai took a deep breath; he felt extremely upset and let out a self-mocking laugh, murmuring, "That’s right! I’m just a thief by origin, and she’s a miss from the Holy Church; how could she ever look up to me? One year, is it? Teacher Goris, I’m going to be another year late before I can return to see you."

"What’s wrong, Ah Dai, you seem very unhappy!" Kigg’s voice came through.

Ah Dai looked up at Kigg; the Old Mage’s face was adorned with a faint smile. "It’s nothing. Thank you for your concern."

Kigg sighed and said, "Child, I was really too impulsive just now, letting you get hurt so badly. Come, let me treat you with the Water Element healing magic. Such a big wound, if not properly treated, will have lasting effects."

Ah Dai nodded gently, still holding a lot of respect for Kigg.

Under Kigg’s treatment, Ah Dai’s left arm could move again, and after having breakfast, his complexion had also improved significantly.

"Young man, you need to be careful when dealing with that little ancestor in the future; her background is simply too formidable. Neither you nor I can afford to offend her. You’re going to have a tough time," Kigg warned.

Ah Dai bowed his head and said nothing.

Kigg continued, "Try to keep some distance from her, and don’t get too close to her." Suddenly becoming serious, Kigg added, "Especially, never fall in love with her, or it will cause you a lifetime of pain. There is an insurmountable chasm between you two!"

Ah Dai laughed self-deprecatingly and said, "Great Mage Kigg, you worry too much. How could anything possibly happen between Miss Xuan Yue and me? We are from two different worlds."

"Don’t belittle yourself too much. To have achieved so much at your age is no small feat. Alright, rest a little longer. I’ll deliver the items the Little Witch requested. Oh, and your clothes are dirty, so I’ve prepared a new Mage Robe for you. Go change."

After changing into the new Mage Robe, Ah Dai stretched his body. Although the pain in his arm had subsided significantly, the ache still pulsed through him. The True Qi within his body continuously circulated, repairing the damaged meridians in his arm. He had slept very comfortably the night before, and his impression of Xuan Yue had improved quite a bit. But after this morning’s incident, Ah Dai’s heart had gone cold; he had completely lost hope and would not open his heart easily again.

Touching the Sword of Hades at his chest, Ah Dai felt a surge of motivation. His True Qi had reached the fifth Realm, which meant he could start practicing the first technique of the Hades Sword Technique. The power of the Hades Sword Technique, already deeply etched in his mind, sent a tremble through his heart. And yet, the sense of evil that came with it never fully dissipated; after all, the Sword of Hades was a weapon of great malevolence. He didn’t want to kill innocents recklessly. Owen’s words echoed repeatedly in his mind, "Used for good, it brings good; used for evil, it brings evil." Gritting his teeth, Ah Dai had already decided to follow Owen’s instructions and seize the opportunity to start practicing the Hades Sword Technique.

Just then, Kigg and Xuan Yue came out together. Xuan Yue had changed into new clothes; her blue hair was still braided into twin plaits, and she looked much more spirited, although her eyes were slightly swollen from crying. Ah Dai stood up and greeted her, "Miss, you’re up."

Xuan Yue frowned and said, "Didn’t I tell you to call me Yue Yue? Or do you want me to call you Dai Dai?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Ah Dai responded indifferently, "I am now your attendant. Whatever you call me is appropriate."

Feeling the awkward atmosphere, Kigg coughed and asked, "Miss Xuan Yue, where are you planning to go?"

Giving him a sidelong glance, Xuan Yue snorted, "You must be eager for me to leave, huh! Humph! I will come back later. Ah Dai, let’s go." With that, she headed toward the door of the Mage Guild.

When Kigg heard Xuan Yue would be returning, he nearly collapsed to the ground, helpless. Shaking his head, he gave Ah Dai a meaningful look.

Ah Dai bowed to Kigg and followed Xuan Yue out of the Mage Guild.

As soon as they left, Xuan Yue headed straight for the Mercenary Guild. With his head lowered and concealed under a fiery red greatcloak, Ah Dai’s face was completely obscured.

The Mercenary Guild was as bustling as the day before, the cacophony of conversations never ceasing. The arrival of Xuan Yue and Ah Dai immediately attracted the attention of most people there, especially the gold badge on Xuan Yue’s chest—a symbol of a high-level Mage. Among mercenaries, Mages were the scarcest; having a Mage join a Mercenary Corps would bring tremendous benefits. Imagine warriors charging in front, with Mages in the rear casting magic for attack and healing—what a wonderful scene it would be. Before arriving at the Mercenary Guild, Ah Dai had specially stored his Tian Gang Sword in the Mage Guild, fearing that Feng Ping would recognize it.
