Chapter 780: Chapter 208: The Kind Grim Reaper (Including Epilogue)_4

Vincent looked at Sylvia and then at Ah Dai. His facial muscles twitched slightly and he mumbled to himself, "I—I have a son. I, Hades, actually have a son. Sylvia, are you—are you deceiving me? Are you just lying to me?"

Sylvia’s face gradually softened. She coldly said, "Considering your current physical condition, do you think you are a match for me? Do I need to lie to you? You should be very clear about your earlier confrontation with Mandolin. At the last moment, he was clearly in an advantageous position, and you had no chance to unleash Hades Ultimate Soul at all. If he had used the Grim Reaper Scythe to the fullest to sever your Spiritual Imprint, you know better than me what would have happened. He was unstoppable at that point, and that includes me. So, why didn’t you die? Do you know why you didn’t die? It wasn’t mercy, but his inability to act against you! You are, after all, his father. Although you are the master of the Demon Realm, how could our kind-hearted son kill his own father with his own hands?"

Everything became clear to Vincent in an instant, everything. He knew, Sylvia was telling the truth. Ah Dai is clearly from the Divine Clan, yet he possesses black wings, he wields black Divine Power. These were all symbols of the fusion of god and demon! He—He was his son. Indeed, he really was his son!

With a flash of the black glow, Vincent violently launched himself out of Sylvia’s Rainbow Barrier. "Everyone, stop!" A colossal shout came from his mouth, and surges of magic power gathered continuously around him. The piece of Grim Reaper Scythe left in his body dropped out. Vincent clamped the sharp blade’s edge between two of his fingers, his body trembling slightly.

The rainbow light receded, and Divine King Sylvia, holding Ah Dai, slowly stood up. She didn’t prevent Vincent from regaining his strength but instead watched him indifferently.

At Vincent’s booming voice, all gods and demons stopped their actions. The confrontation had not been going on for long, with neither side suffering any casualties as yet. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Vincent scanned the surrounding gods and demons and said grimly, "All those under the Demon Realm, hear my command. We have lost today. Retreat to the Demon Realm Entrance immediately. Carry out this order at once." All the Demon Lords looked at Vincent in disbelief. In their eyes, their ruler did not seem to have lost at all! Why would he give such an order? A rather brave demon tentatively asked, "Lord Hades, we may not necessarily lose! Ah—" In a light of azure glow, this demon was reduced to dust by the Sword of Hades. Filled with momentous authority, Vincent coldly declared, "Anyone else dares to disobey my command?"

Fear was reflected in the eyes of the Demon Lords. They, of course, knew Hades’ ruthless tactics. To save their own lives, they all grouped together. Using their own magic power, they returned to the Demon Realm through the Demon Realm Entrance on the main peak of the Death Mountain Range. The departure of the demons was met with cheers from the Divine Clan. They were peace-loving people who had never thought of completely exterminating the Demon Clan. As long as the demons did not attack humans and the Divine Realm, the gods would be content.

There was a softening to Vincent’s facial features. He slowly drifted down to Ah Dai and God Siya, and with a wave of his right hand, an invisible sound barrier immediately enveloped the three of them. Vincent sighed slightly and calmly said, "Sylvia, you have won. I have schemed to reign over the three realms tirelessly but still lost to you in the end. It seems that I can never surpass you." His gaze slowly moved to Ah Dai, and his voice carried a hint of gentleness, "Mandolin, I’ve always regarded you as the strongest enemy after Sylvia. I never thought that you would turn out to be my son. To be honest, I am proud to have a son like you. Your skills have already surpassed Sylvia and me. Here, I swear by the spiritual imprint of Hades that as long as you are alive, I will never lead the Demon Clan to invade humanity and the Divine Clan again." Vincent seemed somewhat worn out. He bent down and picked up the severed Scythe Handle of the Grim Reaper lying on the ground. With his powerful magic power, the handle and the blade of the sickle reassembled flawlessly without any defects. Vincent sighed and handed the mended Grim Reaper Scythe over to Ah Dai, saying lightly, "I have only learned today that I have a son like you. I have never fulfilled my duties as a father, not even for a day. Take back your weapon. I don’t dare to hope that you regard me as your father. I only hope that you won’t hate me anymore. There’s something that I’ve always kept to myself, you know? I really loved Sylvia. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have agreed to Sylvia’s terms in the first place." Hearing his words, Sylvia trembled uncontrollably, and tears flooded out.

Ah Dai took the scythe, his eyes flickering with a complex mix of emotions. He lowered his head and said, "You can go now. I—I won’t hate you anymore." He hadn’t expected Hades, after finding out that he was his son, to make such a large concession. For the first time, when facing his parents, he could feel the warmth of familial love.

Vincent trembled all over. Two lines of uncontrollable tears streamed down his face. His voice choked, he stammered, "Thank you. Thank you, my child. I hope in the future, I will have a chance to make up for it." A golden orb of light appeared in his hand, "This is the soul of your loved one. I return it to you. Sylvia and I separately rule over god and demon clans. You may not believe this, but the reason I wanted to unify all three realms was to be with Sylvia legitimately. Apparently, this is impossible now. My child, cherish your loved one. How wonderful it is to be with the one you love! Love is eternal." After a long look at Sylvia and Ah Dai, he let the golden orb float into Ah Dai’s hands. Vincent’s body gradually drifted away and his disembodied voice echoed in the air, "My child, remember to visit me in the Demon Realm if you can." With a flicker of black light, Hades, Vincent, disappeared from the field. Having heard his last words, Ah Dai acutely sensed the loneliness in Vincent’s heart. At that moment, he felt all the hatred and humiliation he had been carrying for nearly a thousand years dissipate. He didn’t hate anyone anymore. Love was all that remained in his heart. After exchanging a glance with his mother, he carefully used his remaining divine power to envelop Xuan Yue’s Soul.
