Chapter 74: Chapter 19 Mercenary Guild_2
After a while, Ah Dai returned to his room, his face seemed to have paled, his injured left arm was drooping to the side, and he held a tray in his right hand, on which there was breakfast.
Placing the breakfast in front of Xuan Yue, Ah Dai said, "Ms. Xuan Yue, please have some breakfast."
Xuan Yue glanced at him and said, "Aren’t you going to eat? Why is there so little?"
Ah Dai shook his head, "I am your attendant, I cannot eat with you. I will go eat outside. If you need anything, just call me." Then he turned around and left again.
Once he left the room, Ah Dai let out a sigh. He was feeling terribly upset. With self-derision, he whispered, "That’s right! I, who started as a thief, how could I be looked up to by her, the daughter of the Holy Church. Is it another year then? Teacher Goris, it seems I will return a year later to see you."
"What’s wrong, Ah Dai, you seem to be very upset!" The voice of Kigg came.
Ah Dai looked up at Kigg, the old magician’s face carried a faint smile. "I’m fine. Thank you for your concern."
Kigg sighed and said, "Boy, I was too impulsive just now and you got seriously injured because of it. Come, let me treat you with a water element healing spell. With such a large wound, it could have lingering effects if not treated properly."
Ah Dai slightly nodded his head, for Kigg, he had a lot of respect.
After being healed by Kigg, Ah Dai’s left arm started moving again. Having eaten breakfast, his complexion also seemed much better.
"Lad, be careful when you’re following that little devil. Her background is just too influential, whether it’s you or me, we cannot afford to offend her. Your days are going to be tough."
Ah Dai hung his head, not saying anything.
Kigg said, "Try to maintain some distance from her, do not get too close to her." Kigg suddenly became serious, "especially, do not fall for her, otherwise, you will suffer your whole life. There’s an insurmountable chasm between you two!"
Ah Dai laughed at himself, "Master Kigg, you’re overthinking. How could anything happen between Ms. Xuan Yue and me? We are from completely two different worlds."
"Don’t belittle yourself too much, for someone your age to have achieved so much is already quite exceptional. Well then, rest a bit, I’ll go take the things the little witch asked for to her. Oh right, your clothes are also dirty, I’ve prepared a new mage robe for you, you can change into it."
Having changed into the new mage robe, Ah Dai stretched his body. His arm, albeit much better, still ached, the true Qi in Ah Dai’s body continuously circulated, helping to heal his injured limbs. Having slept very comfortably last night, his impression of Xuan Yue had changed, but after the morning’s ordeal, Ah Dai’s heart had gone cold, he had utterly lost hope and would not easily open up again.
Touching the Sword of Hades on his chest, Ah Dai was suddenly moved. His true Qi had already reached the fifth realm, that means, he could start cultivating the first style of Hades. Thinking of the Hades Sword Technique, Ah Dai’s heart could not help but tremble. The formidable power of it had already left a deep imprint in his mind, however, the sense of evilness was also something he couldn’t shake off. After all, the Sword of Hades was the embodiment of extreme wickedness. He didn’t want to kill innocents, Owen’s words before his death kept ringing in Ah Dai’s mind, "Used for good, it’s good, used for evil, it’s evil." Biting his teeth, Ah Dai had already decided, to obey Owen’s admonition and find an opportunity to practice the Hades Sword Technique.
Just then, both Kigg and Xuan Yue came out. Xuan Yue, having changed her clothes, her blue hair still tied in two small braids, looked a lot more energetic but due to crying earlier, her eyes were slightly red and swollen. Ah Dai stood up, addressing Xuan Yue, "Miss, you’re up."
Xuan Yue scrunched her eyebrows and said, "Didn’t I tell you to call me Yue Yue? Or do you want me to call you Dai Dai?"
Ah Dai casually replied, "I am now your attendant, it is appropriate regardless of what you call me."
Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Kigg coughed and asked, "Miss Xuan Yue, where are you going?"
Xuan Yue glanced at him and humphed, "You couldn’t wait for me to leave, huh! Humph! I’ll be back, Ah Dai, let’s go." With that, she headed towards the Mage Guild’s main entrance.
Hearing that Xuan Yue would be back, Kigg nearly slumped onto the ground, shaking his head helplessly, he made a face at Ah Dai.
Ah Dai bowed to Kigg and followed Xuan Yue out of the Mage Guild.
As soon as they left the door, Xuan Yue headed straight for the Mercenary Guild. Ah Dai kept his head down, his face completely obscured by the red cloak.
Just as bustling as yesterday, the Mercenary Guild filled with constant chatter. The arrival of Xuan Yue and Ah Dai immediately drew most people’s attention, especially the golden badge on Xuan Yue’s chest which was a symbol of a senior mage! In the midst of mercenaries, the most scarce ones were mages. If a mage joined a mercenary corps, they would certainly bring enormous benefits. Imagine, when the warriors charged in front, and the mage in the back provided both magic cover and healing, it would indeed be a marvelous situation. Before coming to the Mercenary Guild, Ah Dai purposely left his Tian Gang Sword at the Mage Guild, for fear of being recognized by Feng Ping.
