Chapter 722: Chapter 196: Lord of the Undead_4

Ah Dai’s blood heated in his chest, his voice gripped by emotion: "Prophet, why... why would you do this?"

Pu Lin gave a slight smile and said, "Ah Dai, I’ve lived long enough. If I can contribute to the peace of the continent, it would be a dream come true for me. My decision has been made, tomorrow, I will lead two hundred Tilu fighters from the Pu Yan clan to confront the fire sprites. Yan Shi, Yan Li, as the prophet of the clan, I order you not to partake in tomorrow’s battle."

The Yan Shi brothers were taken aback: "Prophet, that’s not right, we want to participate!"

Pu Lin’s eyes flashed frostily, becoming slightly angry. "If you still see me as your prophet, then stop arguing. Otherwise, you will be criminals of the Pu Yan clan."

Having always been gentle, Pu Lin’s sudden anger left the Yan Shi brothers flustered. The two glanced at each other, unable to find words for a moment.

The Pope heaved a light sigh, nodded at Pu Lin, and said, "Prophet, don’t worry, I’ll remember what you’ve said. No matter when, the Pu Yan clan will always be friends of the Church."

Pu Lin gave a relieved smile: "That’s enough for me. You all continue discussing, I’ll go to deploy the Tilu fighters in preparation for tomorrow’s battle." With that, he chanted a spell, and in a flash of light, he disappeared before everyone’s eyes. To protect his clan, this venerable elder had given so much. Everyone present bowed deeply towards the spot where Pu Lin had disappeared.

The Pope sighed, glanced around, and said, "Tomorrow, our main force will be the Pu Yan clan. Since the fire sprite appears to be immune to magic, I must request the support of our four Sword Saints and the several members of the Tian Gang Sword Sect. I will also order Chief Judge Xuan Yuan to mobilize the Judge of Light and the Holy Judge. I, along with the four Red Robe Priests, will act as your backup, providing support and recovery magic. Chairman Kary, you will lead these two elders proficient in water element magic in launching water magic attacks. Vila, you are a wind mage, there is no need for you to participate. As for the others, there is no need for your involvement in this operation, just wait here for news. At the same time, all of you must hold the line and not give the enemy a chance. Now, everyone should get some rest."

Ah Dai, along with Xi Wen and others, exited the large tent. As night had already fallen, and the Death Mountain Range was covered with an eternal cloud, no starlight could penetrate it. Despite being lit by torches, the entire camp still seemed gloomy. Xi Wen patted Ah Dai’s shoulder and said, "The battle ahead is bound to be tough. Ah Dai, you’re a pillar of the Sword Sect; be sure to watch out for your safety."

Basking in the warmth of his elder’s concern, Ah Dai gave a reassuring smile: "I will. Tomorrow, all of you teachers must also be careful. We still don’t know how powerful the fire sprites are, but they were once divine weapons, and I’m afraid they won’t be easy to deal with."

Xi Wen said, "You have already avenged Owen, your Martial Uncle is truly relieved. I believe Owen’s spirit in heaven can now rest in peace. Besides, from the day we of the Tian Gang Sword Sect were born, your master has taught us to strive for justice and peace for the continent, even to the point of risking our lives. All of your martial uncles are old now, you need not concern yourself with us."

Ah Dai could not withhold his frustration. He said, "But honorable uncle, you..."

Xi Wen prevents Ah Dai from continuing, sighing lightly, "All we can do is go with the flow. Your martial uncles will not give up their lives that easily. By the way, you must take good care of Prophet Pu Lin tomorrow. He is truly a remarkable individual. The Pu Yan people cannot be without him. It’s time for bed. We should go take some rest." On finishing his words, he went back to his tent with his disciples.

As Xi Wen and others retreated into the shadows, a sense of sorrow overcame Ah Dai. Add to that, hearing the upcoming battle, he wasn’t confident at all. Yue Yue leaned into Ah Dai’s arms; the delicate fragrance filled his nostrils. Ah Dai’s heart cleared, hugging his future wife, he mumbled, "Yue Yue, we will be victorious in the end, right?"

Yue Yue shook her head lightly, "I do not know. But, wherever you go, I will always be with you. If you die, I will go to hell to find you, and we will never part." Her words were simple, but Ah Dai shivered in response. Of course, he knew that Yue Yue was not joking. Fearing that he might lose her, Ah Dai held her tighter as if to bond her body with his.

With barely dawn breaking, Prophet Pu Lin had already led over two hundred Tilu warriors to array in front of the camp. The Tilu warriors clad in heavy armor emitted an aura of calmness. A killing aura lingered among them. These soulless warriors were about to fight for peace on the continent. All major heads such as the Pope, the four Red Robed Priests, everyone of the Tian Gang Sword Sect, Chairman Kary of the Mage Guild and its two elders, the four Sword Saints and Chief Judge Xuan Yuan with his superior judges took charge and sided themselves with the Tilu warriors.

The Prophet went expressionless in front of the Pope and urged, "Let’s set off."

The Pope nodded, raised the Divine wand and along with the four Red Robe Priests took the lead, advancing rapidly towards the Death Mountain Range’s eighth checkpoint. On passing Undead Fairy Qian Qian’s territory, Ah Dai looked around and did not see Qian Qian’s figure. Recalling Qian Qian’s words, he pulled himself together, flew to the front of the convoy and moved along with Prophet Pu Lin. The Tilu warriors though wore heavy armor, but their speed was excellent, superseding the Judge of Light and Holy Judges. Ah Dai was surprised to find that the aura they emanated was more potent than before, especially those of profound cultivation strength were equal to the Sword Saints. It seemed that they had metamorphosed overnight. He wanted to ask Prophet Pu Lin about the surprise, but seeing the serious look on his face, held his query in his stomach. After all, the ascension of the Tilu warriors’ strength was advantageous to them.

They quickly moved past Qian Qian’s territory, overcame another towering mountain and arrived at a vast, open basin. The ground was indeed massive. Just as everyone entered, they felt the heat. Ah Dai was wary and calmly said, "Everyone, be careful, the Undead Fire Demon is good at sneak attacks." His words had just finished when a thick red beam suddenly appeared from behind, heading straight towards the Pope and the four Red Robe Priests. The Pope was already alerted by Ah Dai’s words, the moment the red beam appeared, he instantaneously raised his Divine Wand and brought forth a giant light shield at his and the priests’ front. The collision with the beam made the shield sparkle with several tiny sparkles. Ah Dai didn’t hesitate and immediately with full speed, moved towards the place from where the red beam had originated. A giant figure covered in black Armor sprang out from behind a large stone, wielding a striking reddish whip and a thunderous scream, apparently angered by the failed ambush. By this time, Ah Dai had already reached the spot and countless golden Aura Threads gushed out from his body covering the Undead Fire Demon from all sides. The Demon was taken aback, didn’t dodge and with the whip created a red light wall to ward off the Aura Threads. The collision made a deafening sound and the forceful Aura Threads made the Demon fly back and collided with the rocks behind him, smashing them to pieces. Ah Dai wasn’t joyous in pushing back the Demon because his Aura Threads couldn’t cross the Demon’s shield. The Pope fully trusted Ah Dai and immediately alongside the Prophet arranged everyone in a solid defense formation, ready to react.

The golden light abruptly flashed, revealing the giant figure of the Sumeru Sword. Ah Dai knew, though the Fire Demons numbered only over a hundred, each one killed decreased the count. He was determined to wholeheartedly battle with this formidable creature. The Fire phantom seemed to be scared of the Sumeru Sword and shrieked, then turned around to escape. Using force, it jumped a significant distance, simultaneously waving the whip to obstruct Ah Dai’s attack. Ah Dai grew stronger, he didn’t leap after the Demon, instead loosened his grip on the Sumeru Sword and let the heavily powerful sword hover around him. He folded his hands across his chest and yelled, "Go to hell." The Sword’s glow brightened, even the Pope with his profound cultivation couldn’t resist shivering. Suddenly, the golden sword flashed and disappeared, piercing right through the giant body of the Demon. The Sumeru Sword was left hovering in mid-air and Ah Dai circled his hands around it, making the golden sword move along the curve and flew back into his hands. Yun Ying exclaimed, "Using Qi to control the sword." The few Sword Saints also could do it, but the energy of the Sumeru Sword surpassed the normal energy swords. That Ah Dai could control such a powerful sword precisely was a testament not only to his profound Qi but also to his strong mental strength. Yun Ying was aware, that was Ah Dai’s real power.
