Chapter 699: Chapter 191: Before the Final Battle_4

The Elf Queen said, "There is no need for formalities, Your Holiness. We are merely doing what we ought to. We all inhabit this continent, and though we are not humans, we will stand in solidarity when humanity is in danger. Even though humans have let us down before, we still regard the continent as our shared home. None of us would want it to fall into the hands of the dark forces. So the best course of action for us would be to collaborate wholeheartedly, wouldn’t it? I, too, hope for a lasting friendship between us and the Church. All we Elves desire is enduring peace for our beautiful homeland."

The Pope nodded in agreement then turned to Feng Wen, "Marshal, could you please order your supply troops to start building simple defensive structures and then stand by for further instructions?"

"Wait a moment," the Elf Queen interjected, a smile on her face. "Leave the establishment of the base to us. Audi, move out." After nodding, Audi took off, wings flapping. The Elf Queen addressed the surprised Pope, "In the vibrant forest, our elven natural magic can be utilized to the fullest. We will handle the construction. Not only will it save your time, but also preserve the integrity of the forest." The reason she offered to assist the Allied Forces in setting up a temporary base was to protect her tribe and prevent the inevitable deforestation, thus protecting the environment of the Tian Yuan Clan.

Under everyone’s gaze, the outskirts of the Death Mountain Range began to transform. Several Elf Envoys repeatedly chanted complex natural magic spells under the direction of Audi and other senior Elf Envoys. A soft green glow emanated and spread outwards. The Pope and Ah Dai felt the life force within the forest becoming richer. Ah Dai seemed to understand what the Elf Queen planned. Under the green glow, the ground began to change. The trees become denser, and countless intertwining vines emerged from the soil. They quickly coalesced into a formidable natural barrier - a solid wall rising up to fifteen feet at the edge of the forest, lined with sharp thorns shimmering with a faint purple glow. The Elf Queen added, "Your Holiness, our tribe will be responsible for the safety of the Allied Forces. I believe as long as we guard this place, even if the entire Church of the Dark Saint launched an attack, they would not be able to breach this defence in a short period. Please order the Allied Forces to station themselves within this tree wall. In approximately two days, we will extend this tree wall to surround the entire forest. The thorns on the exterior contain a potent paralytic agent capable of immobilizing any creature that touches it for over two hours. If it comes to that, I can also invoke the forbidden curse of natural magic."

Ah Dai nodded, "The powers of the queen’s elven magic are formidable. When we were rescuing Princess Xing Er from the palace of Sunset City in the Sunset Empire, Your Highness’s single melody caused the entire palace’s defenses to break down. I believe with her around, the defenses of the Allied Forces should not be an issue."

Feng Wen added, "I also believe in Her Majesty’s defensive prowess. However, with this tree wall in place here, how shall our troops venture out when they need to?"

The Elf Queen responded with a smile, "Please rest assured, Marshal. As long as I am here, the defenses will in no way impact the speed at which your troops mobilize. I shall start constructing a headquarters here for you all. Gathering everyone here will make communication and collaboration much easier." She paused before continuing, "In the name of the generations of Elf Kings before me, I invoke you, souls of Elves!" A faint green aura enveloped the Elf Queen, framing her beautiful figure. She softly chanted, "Let the Elf bloodline guide us. Wake up, my heart of the Elves."

Ah Dai, widened eyes, recognized the scene. He had seen the Elf Queen use this spell in Sunset City, which was none other than the preamble of the Elf Magic Forbidden Spell - Melody of Growth.

The Elf Queen slowly reopened her eyes, from which two beams of green light shot out. She inhaled deeply, bit her right middle finger, drew patterns in the air with the green energy around her blood, and then wrapped her blood within. She sang the spell, "In the name of the inherited bloodline of the Elf Kings, awaken the spiritual energy of the world. Great god of earth, show mercy and nurture life with your benevolent heart. Forbidden Spell of Elves - Melody of Growth." As she completed the spell, all the green light frantically converged towards her blood encapsulated by the Elf symbol. In a moment, it transformed into a faint green sphere. The Elf Queen smiled tenderly, the small green light floated from her hands into the ground and disappeared instantly.

All eyes focused on the Elf Queen as she closed her eyes again and began humming. Under her, the ground began to subtly tremble. Enormous tree vines started growing around the tree wall, soon transforming into tree houses. In a moment, over a hundred tree houses appeared in the forest. In the midst, a large tree house of over 200 square meters, built by intertwined vines of ten big trees, stood.

With the humming brought to an end, the Elf Queen slowly opened her beautiful eyes, a hint of tiredness marking them. Ah Dai immediately rushed to support her, concern lacing his voice, "Auntie, are you alright?"

The Elf Queen smiled slightly and said, "Don’t worry, I’m fine. Although the same Melody of Growth was used, the amount of magic power I just expended is much less than before. The vines I accelerated to grow do not have any offensive abilities. Moreover, we are close to our source of power—the Elf ancient tree, and we are in a forest, so spiritual energy will be replenished quickly. I will soon recover." Turning to the Pope, she continued, "Your Holiness, how about using here as our command center against the Dark Forces?"

The Pope exclaimed, "The Magic of Nature is indeed miraculous. It’s the first time I’ve witnessed it. Thank you, Your Majesty. Marshal Feng Wen, I will leave it to you. You have the most experience in commanding troops."

Without any modesty, Feng Wen nodded his head. "Alright, rest assured, I will arrange the troops from all parties properly."

The Pope lowered his head and said, "Ah Dai, let us set off now. Xuan Ye and Xuan Yue, the red robe priests, will accompany us. At the same time, we will mobilize all the Holy Judges, Judges of Light, and about a thousand senior priests, as well as two hundred fire mages from the Tian Jing Mage Guild and the Continental Mage Guild. We will head out in half an hour to purge the surrounding areas of undead creatures. The three Sword Saints, I would like to ask for your company. We need to clear a path for the Allied Forces."

Yun Ying smiled and said, "Your Holiness do not need to stand on ceremony. Since we are here, we are at your disposal."

Half an hour later, under the guidance of Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, everyone left the forest and entered the Death Mountain Range. Although the magical cultivation of the priests was profound, their physical constitution was not as good, and with the assistance from the judges, they managed to climb to the highest peak on the periphery of the Death Mountain Range. This journey mainly comprised members of the Church. Their divine energy naturally had the ability to resist against the evil aura.

Looking into the distance, the Pope said to Ah Dai, "Let’s proceed according to the plan. You take Yue Yue and Xuan Ye first to eliminate the bone birds on the periphery, and we will support you from behind."

Ah Dai nodded his head and chanted, "With the blood of the Divine Dragon as a guide, open up, the gate of space and time." Two orbs of energy, one silver and one black, wrapped in blue light, drifted out from the Dragon’s Blood. As the energy gradually grew, under the astonished gaze of the Church members and the three Sword Saints, the huge figures of Little Bone and Sheng Xie appeared before the members of the clergy. A clear and resonant dragon roar echoed through the mountains of the Death Mountain Range, carrying far and wide.

The Pope looked at Ah Dai and said, "These are your two dragons? They are much stronger than I had imagined. It’s been a long time since the divine creatures like dragons descended upon the human world since God Feather exterminated the Dark Demon Clan. Off you go. If there is any special danger, come back as soon as possible. Don’t force yourself."
