Chapter 675: Chapter 186 Ah Dai Shows His Power_4

The layout of the Tian Gang Sword Sect’s Practice Arena is extremely simple, devoid of any equipment. It’s just a vast plaza where over a hundred fourth-generation Tian Gang Sword Sect disciples are ceaselessly practicing the most basic Tian Gang Swordsmanship. Each disciple wields a fifty-six-kilogram Tian Gang Heavy Sword which, enveloped in white fighting spirit, generates a strong wind with each swing. Some disciples whose strength levels are nearly alike even spar with each other.

With a faint smile, Liao Yi said, "Uncle, our Practice Arena covers a vast area. Every morning, our fraternity practices techniques and movements. Afternoon onwards, we sit in meditation, and sometimes even practice the Life Creation Secret Art at night. Most of the fourth-generation disciples have developed their strength to the third or fourth level. Only one or two brothers have managed to reach the fifth level of strength."

Lu Yi laughed and said, "Aren’t you also at the fifth level? And you’re almost at the sixth level, right?"

Ah Dai was shocked. He, of course, knew that cultivating True Qi required gradual progression. He had worked hard under Owen’s guidance and even after five years, he had only reached the fourth stage. Only after venturing onto the continent did he step into the fifth stage. If it hadn’t been for the Grand Master passing on his strength, who knows what level he’d be at now? Seeing that Liao Yi, who wasn’t much older than himself, had already reached the sixth stage, Ah Dai could only describe him as a genius!

A little embarrassed, Liao Yi said, "Uncle, don’t listen to Yi Yi’s exaggeration. My strength pales greatly in comparison to yours."

Ah Dai shook his head and said, "My cultivation progression occurred by sheer luck. If I depended solely on practice, I believe I wouldn’t be far ahead of where you are now either. Liao Yi, you must put in a lot of effort into your daily training."

Liao Yi nodded and said, "I intrinsically enjoy training, especially when my whole body is filled with fighting spirit. Naturally, I spend more time on training compared to others. Uncle, how do you find their swordsmanship?"

Looking at those agile figures, Ah Dai smiled bitterly and said, "Don’t ask me. I only learned a few sword techniques initially, and later, it got rusty. I only remember the Splitting Chop technique now."

Liao Yi was taken aback and said, "Uncle, don’t be modest. Your cultivation is so high, our level must seem trivial to you, right?"

Xuan Yue laughed and said, "He isn’t being modest; he’s speaking the truth. We’ve been together for so long and I’ve never seen him use any sophisticated swordsmanship. He fights purely by brute force. However, victory is determined by strength when one’s cultivation reaches a certain level."

With some skepticism, Liao Yi said, "I don’t see it that way. I believe that techniques are also very important. Without techniques, how can one fully utilize their strength? Skilled techniques may sometimes be decisive."

Ah Dai nodded and said in a calm tone, "You have a point. But have you thought about this? One’s lifespan is finite. For instance, there’s only fifty years to train in your lifetime. If you spend twenty years practicing techniques, that only leaves thirty years for cultivating fighting spirit. No matter how talented you are, you can’t surpass those who have trained for fifty years. Do you understand what I mean?"

A glimmer flashed in Liao Yi’s eyes. While he didn’t entirely agree with Ah Dai’s point of view, he had to admit that Ah Dai’s words had some merit.

"Brother Liao Yi, you’re here! Please give us some guidance." Two teenage boys, about sixteen or seventeen years old, ran up to Liao Yi. Their faces were full of reverence, indicating that Liao Yi held a significant epithet in the brothers’ hearts.

Liao Yi looked at the two junior disciples and smiled, "Why would you need me with Uncle present? You should ask him for guidance. If you could learn even a fraction of Uncle’s martial arts, it would be enough to benefit you for life."

The two young disciples looked at Ah Dai with confusion. Ah Dai’s affable face naturally gave them a sense of familiarity, "Uncle? Why haven’t we seen him before? There doesn’t seem to be an uncle so young in our Master’s generation. Brother Liao Yi, you must be teasing us."

Liao Yi scolded, "Stop talking nonsense. Uncle Ah Dai has been travelling outside and just returned today."

Ah Dai laughed, "Don’t blame them. I don’t look like an uncle at all. Just call me Brother Ah Dai. What stage of True Qi cultivation have you reached?"

Liao Yi answered for the two junior disciples, "They are the youngest amongst the fourth-generation disciples, and haven’t been training for long. They both are at the second stage, but they are gifted and are about to break into the third stage. Uncle, should I summon all of our brothers?"

Ah Dai shook his head and, as he observed the fervent training of the fourth-generation disciples, an itch overcame him. With a passing thought, he said, "No need. How about this? I’ll test everyone’s reaction ability." He weaved through the multitude before Liao Yi could reply. With Ah Dai’s current strength, he moved like a phantom at just a shift of thought. While one hand rested behind him, the other stretched forward, rapidly advancing towards the nearest four individuals. The four disciples, who were in the middle of their intense training, were startled by the incoming rush of wind. Without hesitation, they swung their Tian Gang Heavy Swords towards the source of the wind. Fearing they might strike one of their own, they didn’t use their full strength. Their swords intersected in mid-air, forming a net from their defensive maneuver. They believed that no matter how powerful the opponent was, this synchronically coordinated strike would undeniably block them.
