Chapter 666: Chapter 184 Task Completion_4
Black Dragon Little Bone returned the Divine Dragon’s Blood within Ah Dai’s spell. Xuan Yue quickly contacted her Space Teleportation Formation and with a flash of light, the four of them vanished together from the airspace over Undead Fairy Qian Qian’s territory. The moment they vanished, Qian Qian’s figure reappeared. Her almost transparent, exquisite figure held her hands together while she muttered, "My lover, thank you so much, I wish you all the best."
With a flash of light, Xuan Yue’s Space Teleportation Formation was successful again, and Ah Dai and the others reappeared in the middle of the array. "Huh, why is there no one here?" Xuan Yue asked in confusion.
Ah Dai also noticed the same issue - the treehouse of the Elf ancient tree was deserted, not a single soul in sight. He frowned, saying, "This doesn’t make sense! Didn’t the Queen Auntie say that there would always be someone here? Even if they aren’t here, Yan Shi and the others should be here! Could it be that something happened to the Elf Forest? Did the Church of the Dark Saint attack?" The thought of a potential catastrophic crisis for the Elf Clan made Ah Dai’s heart race, and he was the first to rush out of the treehouse. Thanks to the Elf Bracelet he wore, the path through the ancient Elf tree naturally cleared for him. Xuan Yue, Kino, and Olivia hurriedly followed. When they left the Elf ancient tree and looked towards Elf Lake, they were all taken aback. By the clear Elf Lake Water, a large number of Elves were gathered, all in full armor, divided into two factions: Elf Mages and Elf Archers, looking ready for battle.
Activating the True Qi inside his body, Ah Dai descended quickly to the shoreline, the Elves all looked surprised at his sudden appearance, but soon excitement filled their eyes.
Ah Dai grabbed an Elf and asked urgently, "What happened? Did the Dark Forces attack?"
The Elf shook his head, "No, no one attacked, we are gathering here to prepare to go to the Death Mountain Range to rescue all of you." As this Elf was answering Ah Dai’s question, the Elf troops parted to either side, and the Elf Queen, along with four Elf Envoys, Yan Shi and his brothers, Zhuo Yun and Yue Ji, made their way forward. On seeing Ah Dai, Yan Shi rushed forward, grabbing his shoulders excitedly, "Ah Dai, you are finally back. We were all worried sick about you. If we hadn’t heard from you, Queen Auntie was about to lead the Elves army to the Death Mountain Range!" As it turned out, after Ah Dai and his group left, everyone had been waiting anxiously. The first day was nothing, but by the second day, they were all consumed by worry. They had all experienced the dangers of the Death Mountain Range firsthand and with Ah Dai and his group not returning for two days, they were filled with dread about their safety. By the third day, Yue Ji was the first one who couldn’t stand it. She insisted on going to the Death Mountain Range to find Ah Dai and his group. Yan Shi didn’t let her go, but barely managed to stop her. Early this morning, the Elf Queen made a decision. She led the entire Elf clan to prepare an assault on the Death Mountain Range. Ah Dai had saved the entire Elf clan, so, even though the survival of the Elf clan was vital, the Elf Queen could not ignore Ah Dai’s kindness. Just as they were prepared to set off, the news came that Ah Dai and his group had returned safely.
Feeling the deep friendship from Yan Shi, Ah Dai’s eyes brimmed with tears, "Thank you, everyone. Brother, Queen Auntie, Ah Dai doesn’t know what to say."
The Elf Queen smiled, "You don’t need to say anything, Ah Dai. No matter what happens, the Elf Clan is always with you. You can rest assured about that." She turned to Audi and said, "Elder Elf Envoy, arrange for everyone to return to their posts. The mission to Death Mountain Range is canceled." Upon hearing that they no longer needed to go to the Death Mountain Range, all the Elves cheered. The peace-loving Elves were reluctant to fight with others.
Under the lead of the Elf Queen, Ah Dai and his group returned to the Elf ancient tree. As soon as they settled in, Yan Shi asked impatiently, "Ah Dai, how did your mission go?"
Ah Dai smiled and said, "We’ve made decent progress this trip. We’ve reached the seventh level of the Twelve Tribulations of the Undead, or in other words, we’ve successfully passed the first seven levels." He then gave a detailed account of their expedition. Upon hearing Ah Dai’s account, Yan Shi appeared concerned and sighed, "Ah Dai, have you considered that even though you’ve passed the first seven levels, they won’t be as easy for the allied human forces? After all, there are probably very few among the human elites who possess the ability to fly. They can only tackle these fearless undead creatures head-on, eliminating them wave by wave, and advance into the depths of the Mountain Range of Undead by stepping over their corpses. By the time they arrive at the supposed seventh level that you mentioned, the losses they’ll face may be beyond your current estimations."
Ah Dai pondered for a moment, then nodded, "You’re right. Successfully traversing the Death Mountain Range is no easy task. Let’s not mention the first level, which can be dealt with using light magic; from the second level onwards, where the skeletons appear, it gets challenging. Their ability to regenerate is especially troublesome. Only high-ranking martial artists or mages can completely annihilate them. When they encounter the zombies, undead spiders, and even the Rotten Dragons, it’ll very likely be difficult to proceed."
Xuan Yue gave a light smile, saying, "You guys don’t need to worry so much. Although Death Mountain Range is terrifying, don’t forget, the Holy Church has existed on this continent for a thousand years. There are some things beyond your imaginings. Leave these matters to us. When we meet my grandfather, he’ll certainly come up with a strategy. In the mission of saving the mainland, our Holy Church will undoubtedly be the main force."
Yan Shi smiled and said, "If Yue Yue has this much faith in the Holy Church, then there’s nothing more I can say. Alright, then, we’ll leave tomorrow. I think we should do it this way: Yue Yue, you return to the Holy Church directly, Ah Dai to the Tian Gang Sword Sect, Vila to the Mage Guild, Kino to the Tian Jing Mage Guild; we brothers will return to the Pu Yan Clan. We will relay the news from here as quickly as possible, then immediately gather our armies. After meeting at the Divine Mountain of the Holy Church, we will return here to face the Church of the Dark Saint."
Upon hearing Yan Shi’s words, Xuan Yue appeared somewhat troubled. "But I don’t want to be separated from Ah Dai. I want to go with him to the Tian Gang Sword Sect."
Seeing Xuan Yue lower her head, Ah Dai felt a bout of warmth. He knew that Yue Yue was worried about him getting injured during the showdown with the three Sword Saints. Smiling, he said, "Yue Yue, we don’t have to be separated. There are still more than twenty days until the showdown with the four Sword Saints, and the Holy Church is not too far from our Tian Gang Mountain. How about this: I’ll accompany you back to the Holy Church first, and after we’ve reported the situation to your grandpa, the Pope, we will rush back to the Tian Gang Sword Sect. After all, even if the Tian Gang Sword Sect is to partake in this mission, they will certainly wait until after the showdown with the four Sword Saints."
Xuan Yue immediately broke into a smile, and clutching Ah Dai’s hand, she said, "Okay! Then that’s settled, you can’t go back on your word."
Ah Dai pinched Xuan Yue’s adorable little nose, smiling as he said, "When have I ever not kept my word to you? Let’s rest at the queen’s place tonight and set off first thing in the morning. The crucial battle for humanity is about to begin. I believe that by joining forces, we can thoroughly crush the plot of the Church of the Dark Saint and restore peace to the kingdom." Then everyone said their goodbyes to the Elf Queen and returned to their treehouse by the lakeside. The Elf Queen sent over a generous amount of fresh fruits. After a sumptuous meal, everyone entered a state of meditation. Having successfully investigated the base of the Church of the Dark Saint without incurring any injuries, they were all in high spirits.
