A warmth touched Ah Dai’s heart as he took a glance at the somewhat blurry figure of Xuan Yue. Silently, he swore to himself to ensure everyone’s safe return no matter what. Ah Dai’s speed was fully unleashed as he left the group, plunging himself like a meteor towards the ground below. Suddenly it became bright, he found himself free from the thick green poisonous fog, evidently it couldn’t catch up to his full speed. With joy, he quickly looked down to find a crowd of staggering figures that seemed like they could faint at any moment. Ah Dai gazed in shock, it was a crowd of zombies below. The flesh on the zombies was rotten with green liquid seeping from the grey flesh. The dull green glow in their eyes and the green fog hovering above them seem to be from the green blood evaporating from their bodies. Some particularly tall zombies seemed to spot his presence, and raised their heads to look at him. Ah Dai was puzzled, since entering the Death Mountain Range, they came across three types of undead creatures, Bone Birds, Skeletons and Zombies, each type of undead seemed to have its own territory. But why are the territories of these undead creatures so orderly?
By then, the zombies had spotted Ah Dai, and seemed excited by the vibrant life force within him. Some attempted to vertically jump towards Ah Dai, but thankfully, the zombies could only jump high and not fly, posing no threat to him. Occasionally, the taller zombies would spit out a green fluid, but their spewing force was not strong enough to harm Ah Dai.
From his observations, Ah Dai realized the zombies, though they could jump high were clumsy compared to the Skeleton Soldiers. However, the green fluid from their bodies was clearly toxic. Navigating with the shadow of the mountain, Ah Dai did not bother with the zombies and pushed quickly through the green fog using the Dragon’s Blood and Phoenix’s Blood. Returning to the group, he was startled to see that the Light of Purification from Xuan Yue was already eroding and the fog outside the light had changed into a deep green, it was just about to condense into liquid. Even the magic from Olivia and Kino had no effect. Xuan Yue was desperately keeping the group safe. Her face was pale due to loss of magic power, and she was on the verge of collapsing. Ah Dai imbued the Silver Solid State Energy which quickly assumed the defense role, blocking the toxic fog that was about to condense into a liquid.
Xuan Yue seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when she saw Ah Dai return, panting she said, "Glad you’re back, I don’t think I could’ve held on much longer. I was about to use the Space Teleportation Spell. Don’t ever separate from us again. What if you get lost?"
Even though Xuan Yue spoke with a hint of blame, her words warmed Ah Dai. He gave her a healing dose of True Qi, "Let’s not talk about this right now. I won’t separate from you guys anymore. The valley below is filled with zombies, this green fog is coming from their bodies. Vila, Kino, you quickly set up two Barriers around the Light of Purification. We will charge towards that direction, Sheng Xie, rush at full speed." Under Ah Dai’s command, they all charged deep into the green fog.
Ah Dai had once tried to get Sheng Xie to descend and pass through from below the green fog, but with so many people on board, Sheng Xie’s speed was significantly slower than Ah Dai. The green fog seemed to have a soul of its own, it followed them regardless of their movement. Ah Dai knew that to escape this green fog, they needed to break past the zombies. Continuously striking out with Solid State Energy, he cut through the fog, protecting Sheng Xie and the group as they rushed forward.
After what seemed like an eternity, Ah Dai could feel his Solid State Energy was about to run dry. Xuan Yue, Olivia and Kino’s magic power were almost completely drained. Yet, they finally broke through the green fog. Sheng Xie climbed to the top of a tall mountain. Those like Yan Shi who were not involved perspired from the tension. They stood on the peak of the mountain, panting heavily.
Kino wiped the sweat off his forehead, "Chief Ah Dai, what on earth was that down there?! That green fog is so thick, I don’t think we could even re-enter if we wanted to."
