The waiter glanced at Ah Dai, muttering to himself as he walked out, "Such a waste of beauty, a fine lady stuck with a husband like that." Just as he was about to leave the room, he felt a cold sensation on his neck. In shock, he froze. A short blade was held against his neck, Mie Feng’s cold voice rang out, "I don’t want to hear another word against my husband from you. Even ten thousand of you can’t compare to him. Now, scram!" A force from behind shoved him, making the waiter stagger out of the room and crash onto the floor. The sound of the room door closing rang out clearly.
It took a while before the waiter managed to climb up from the ground. He was about to curse but remembering the icy feeling at his throat, he swallowed his words. With a resentful glance at the door, he walked away.
After closing the door, Mie Feng moved over to Ah Dai. Since the fighting spirit she cultivated had dark properties, she dare not help Ah Dai heal his injuries but could only watch him worriedly.
Ah Dai was semi-conscious, his body’s liquid life essence was fiercely fighting against the evil aura of the Sword of Hades. If he had Xuan Yue with him and his heart was filled with kindness, even using the sixth move of the Hades Sword Technique wouldn’t necessarily put him in this impending crisis. But his heart had been corroded by the malevolent aura and filled with murderous intent, once he released his netherworld skills, it caused a situation that was out of control. The only thing he could do now was resist the invasion of the evil aura with his powerful liquid life essence.
An idea struck Mie Feng, and she whispered into Ah Dai’s ear, "Do you remember Bing? For Bing’s sake, you can’t let anything happen to you! You still have to destroy the Assassin’s Guild, and fulfill the promise you made to me. You must hang on, nothing will happen." As Mie Feng called to him, it seemed as if Ah Dai had heard her; the aura within his body appeared more stable.
Mie Feng rose from the bed and paced up and down the room. Suddenly, it seemed like she had a thought. With one last deep glance at Ah Dai on the bed, she strode out the door.
In the inn’s lobby, the waiter who previously had led Mie Feng to her room complained to another waiter, "That girl might be pretty, but she’s pretty violent, too. She whips out a knife at the slightest provocation. I was so scared just now, I nearly lost my soul! I haven’t even gotten married yet, I don’t want to die!"
The other waiter chuckled, "You, why are you such a coward? A petite woman managed to scare you so badly, no wonder you can’t find a wife. It’s just a woman, what’s so intimidating about her? Could she be stronger than a man?"
"Oh really? Can a woman not kill, then?" A cold voice rang out, and a chill of murderous intent enveloped the two waiters.
Having never dealt with this kind of situation, both waiters sat down on the floor, shaking, pleading, "Miss, spare our lives! I won’t talk smack anymore!" "Miss, I didn’t mean to offend you, I’ve got parents to take care of and children to feed, spare me!"
In a flash of light, Mie Feng put her knife away, looking disdainfully at the two groveling men. She said, "I won’t kill you. Killing you would dirty my hands. Bring me a copy of the Prayer Charm in the language of the Holy Church."
"Yes, yes. You’re also a faithful follower of Sky God, just like me! I’ll go and get it for you right away."
The Prayer Charm was a widespread spell on this continent. Dedicated followers of the Sky God and Holy Church often recite it. The Prayer Charm, itself, didn’t possess any particular special function. It did, however, produce a weak but sacred aura as it was recited, calming the mind. The reason why Mie Feng thought of the Prayer Charm was due to the evil aura invading Ah Dai’s body. She wanted to help Ah Dai by reciting the spell and getting through this difficult time. The question was whether she, being a part of the dark forces, could bring about any effect whilst reciting the Prayer Charm. Absent of better options, she had no choice but to try her luck.
After a short while, the waiter returned with a finely covered booklet which he reverently passed it to Mie Feng. Mie Feng grunted coldly, "Nobody’s allowed to reveal our presence here if anybody from the government starts asking. Or else, watch your lives!" With that, she swiftly ran upstairs, back to the second floor under the astonished eyes of the two waiters.
Back in the room, Mie Feng sat down by the bed. Ah Dai’s face was alternating between red and white, his body was shaking continuously, beads of perspiration were flowing down his forehead. He looked like he was suffering immensely. Mie Feng placed the Prayer Charm to the side, fetching a towel from the bathroom to wipe the sweat off Ah Dai’s forehead. Picking up the booklet of Prayer Charm, she chuckled to herself, "I never thought there would be a day where I’d ask Sky God for blessings." She opened the first page of the Prayer Charm, taking a deep breath and began to recite, "Behold the divine beings, as they walk among and liberate all living beings, they perceive the source of divineness, delivering all from evil, praying to Sky God, Suffering is emptiness and emptiness is suffering, sensation, perception, volition, consciousness, blessings from God, ...." The complex text echoed in the room, and as the Prayer Charm with its thousands of words continued to reverberate, Mie Feng found that her mind seemed to calm gradually. Everything seemed insignificant in comparison, and her mind couldn’t hold anything but each tiny character from the Prayer Charm. This was her first time fully devoting herself to something besides martial arts practice. As she became more proficient with the chant, before she knew it, she was sitting cross-legged on the bed, reciting over and over again.
After she recited the Prayer Charm for God knows how many times, tiredness overwhelmed her and Mie Feng fell into a deep sleep. Suddenly, a golden light shot through the window, Mie Feng had no power to resist and the golden light entered her forehead. Mie Feng shivered violently for a moment before stilling.
Slowly rising from the bed, her black eyes had somehow turned golden. Those golden eyes were full of kindness and gentleness as they looked upon Ah Dai’s face. Softly she said, "My child, my poor child! How can I bear to see you in such great danger? Luckily this young lady is wholeheartedly chanting the Prayer Charm. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to help you! But I cannot aid you too much, after all, this is a battle you must face on your own. Use your will and wisdom to solve the problem you’re facing now." She lifted her right hand, extending her index finger to touch Ah Dai’s forehead. As her finger slid down, a golden rune floated out from her hand, merging into Ah Dai’s forehead. Ah Dai shuddered, a streak of golden light slid down from his forehead until it disappeared into his Dantian. Mie Feng withdrew her finger gently caressed Ah Dai’s face, bent down and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. In a soft voice, she said, "Child, everything’s up to you now. You must regain your spirits and overcome your obstacles. I must leave now, but one day, we shall reunite." She floated up, back onto the bed, assuming her original position. With a flash of golden light, a wisp of golden aura flew out of Mie Feng’s forehead and disappeared in a flash from the window, as if nothing had happened.
After a moment, Mie Feng rubbed her hazy eyes, took a deep breath, and brought herself back to reality. She was surprised to find that her body and mind felt so comfortable, all negative emotions having vanished. Her gaze fell upon Ah Dai’s face; he seemed to have calmed down, his face no longer changing, his breathing even, as if he’d fallen asleep.
Mie Feng floated down from the bed, silently looking at Ah Dai on the bed, murmuring, "No wonder so many people worship the Sky God, there seem to really be deities out there! Sky God, please bless Ah Dai, let him wake up quickly. Even though he’s killed many, those were all evil men deserving of death! He shouldn’t be punished."
Unconscious, Ah Dai’s mind had completely sank into his inner self, with the Evil Aura and Sacred Aura from his True Qi vying for control of his body. Amidst the continuous clashes between these two opposing energies, a faint Sacred Aura suddenly infused his body. Although it was weak, it was exceptionally pure. With its inception, True Qi gradually gained the upper hand. With the continued infusion of the Sacred Aura, the remnants of the Evil Aura from the Sword of Hades were slowly pushed back. The control of his body returned to Ah Dai. That thin Sacred Aura was brought by Mie Feng chanting the Prayer Charm. Even though the Evil Aura was suppressed, the injuries within Ah Dai’s body hadn’t healed. Under the continuous nourishment of the True Qi, they were gradually recovering. After what felt like an eternity, the deeply asleep Ah Dai slowly regained consciousness. He found himself seemingly in a sea of gold, wave after wave of golden energy constantly nourished his body. Looking down at himself, Ah Dai found he was sitting, naked, in the middle of this sea of gold. The invigorating, warm energy was constantly purifying his soul. What a comforting sensation! A sudden thought crossed his mind. He was surprised to find that his current form was exactly the same as the Golden Body within his Dantian! How did his consciousness get into the Golden Body? Looking around, there were golden streams surrounding him, constantly pulling the golden waves from the sea into the streams, cycling back to the sea again after a rotation.
Ah Dai wondered, what’s happening to me? Why am I like this? Why is my consciousness still retained in my body? Gradually, he began to recall everything that happened before. Ah! He had used the fifth move of the Hades Sword Technique, and the surging Evil Aura had invaded his body, causing him to fall into a deep sleep. He controlled his limbs with his consciousness and found, to his surprise, that he could manipulate his Golden Body as easily as his original body. With a mere thought, he flowed along the waves of the golden ocean into a relatively wide river. He found that to adapt to the width of the river, his body had actually shrunk quite a bit. In what seemed to be just an instant, his golden body returned to the ocean. He had already completed a cycle in that golden river. However, he realized that some parts of the river seemed to be damaged. Ah Dai had an epiphany – these rivers must be his meridians, and the golden ocean was the liquid life essence in his Dantian. Since his consciousness was within the Golden Body, he should first focus on repairing the meridians and then figure out a way to restore his consciousness to his original body.
With this decided, he entered the broken river again, propelled by his intent. Soon, he arrived at the previously discovered damaged area, extended his hands, and pressed them onto the broken region. Golden energy flowed out through his palms and, under its influence, the damaged area started to be enveloped in a vibrant life force, causing the broken meridians to rapidly repair themselves. After repairing, the flows of qi in this river seemed to have eased a lot. Overjoyed, Ah Dai went back to the Dantian along the newly accelerated current and chose another river to repair. Thus, one by one, the meridians were constantly being restored under his pure energy, teeming with the tremendous vitality. The violently surging golden ocean in his Dantian had gradually calmed down, becoming thicker and more potent. After repairing so many rivers, Ah Dai realized that there were two meridians that his Golden Body could not enter. One was a thick meridian that reached close to the golden ocean, possessing the same kind of energy as him - although the energy seemed to be of the same origin, it seemed to be a forbidden region. Only a weak golden liquid would flow out when he consciously operated it, but he was unable to enter it. After considering it, Ah Dai understood that the energy must come from the chest region of the second Golden Body. The other area he could not enter was a complex group of distant meridians. Here, many complex energies seemed to reside, a stark contrast to his golden ocean, like black dirty water. Judging from the complexity of the meridians, Ah Dai understood that this must be his brain. The complex energy lodged in the brain was the Evil Aura from the Sword of Hades and his own baleful aura. Although he did not know why they were there, Ah Dai did understand that if he didn’t unclog the meridians in his brain with his golden energy, he would probably never regain full control of his body. Upon realizing this, he stirred the golden liquid in the ocean and, riding the widest river, soared towards the brain. He was firmly resolved to expel all those negative energies from his body.
Ten days had elapsed, and Ah Dai was still in a deep sleep with no sign of waking up. Mie Feng anxiously watched Ah Dai’s serene face and sighed deeply. For the past ten days, she had been chanting the Prayer Charm for at least twelve hours each day, hoping to help Ah Dai awaken through the sacred aura she gathered. Although she could feel that the Prayer Charm was having some effect, Ah Dai still hadn’t regained consciousness. Five days ago, a layer of golden radiance suddenly appeared on Ah Dai’s body, constantly flowing beneath the Giant Spirit Snake Armor. Ah Dai’s body seemed to be wrapped up in a golden cocoon. Though it seemed that Ah Dai was constantly recovering, five days had passed since then, and the golden cocoon had been still for a long time. Mie Feng was almost losing her patience, had it not been for the calmness granted by the Prayer Charm, she would have lost her patience and used her own energy to investigate Ah Dai’s condition.
Just as Mie Feng was preparing to start chanting the Prayer Charm again, she was surprised to find that the golden light radiating from Ah Dai’s body suddenly strengthened. The golden light, with his Dantian at the center, expanded fiercely. A massive golden light sphere gradually rose, moving upward from the Dantian region. Countless golden streams converged from Ah Dai’s limbs towards the central golden light, growing bigger in just a moment. His body, wrapped in the thick golden light, became more and more obscured. Eventually, when the golden light reached its peak, Ah Dai’s body disappeared, completely engulfed in the golden light. Mie Feng clearly felt the massive and pure energy contained within the golden light. It seemed to be entirely composed of Sacred Aura! Could it be possible that the Sky God is favoring Ah Dai? With this thought, she stood outside the range of the golden energy, devoutly chanting the Prayer Charm.
The formation of the golden ball outside Ah Dai’s body was actually a magnification of his internal condition. Transformed into the Golden Body state, he was leading all the energy within the golden ocean in his body upwards towards the brain. He was lurking near a place where evil and malice were gathered. As the structure of the brain was too complex, Ah Dai dared not act rashly. He gathered the energy of the golden ocean at the back, while he himself went forward, reducing his size, and directly entered a dark blue meridian. Ah Dai was aware that if he was careless while expelling the evil qi from the brain, the consequences would be irreversible. Indeed, his original body might die directly. As soon as he entered the dark blue meridian, he felt a surge of mighty evil qi rushing at him, as if trying to expel him from the meridian. Ah Dai stood firm, releasing a bit of his vast energy to defend against the evil qi. How could the evil qi from one meridian combat the energy from his Golden Body, brimming with massive life essence? When the evil qi collided with the golden light around him, the entire meridian shook violently. The evil qi gradually dissolved, but the increasing shaking of the meridian startled Ah Dai, and he quickly gathered his energy. He was shocked to find that due to the shaking of the meridian, his consciousness seemed to be somewhat blurry. At this moment, he understood that his consciousness still depended on his original body. If any meridian of the original body was injured, his consciousness would disappear. In other words, if he couldn’t remove the evil qi from his brain, he would sleep forever and his consciousness would only remain in the Golden Body. If he destroyed any brain meridian while exorcising evil qi, it would cause a direct death, and everything would disappear with it. What he needs to do now is to dissolve all the evil and malicious qi in the meridians without injuring the brain. But how can the malicious qi be expelled without damaging himself? By the look of it, this is an impossible task.
At that thought, Ah Dai cannot help but feel desperate, why would the two types of Malevolent and Evil Aura choose to gather in his brain? If it was anywhere else, he could have risked trying something, but the brain is too complex and fragile, it’s so hard to deal with. Despite thinking for a long time, he can’t figure out a suitable solution, so he decides to first extricate from the meridian. His body is now completely wrapped in the Evil Aura, but he dares not resist too much, and can only preserve the golden energy within his body, swiftly withdrawing. Although Ah Dai dares not confront the Evil Aura within his meridian, the Evil Aura has no intention of letting him off. As he attempts to withdraw, the Evil Aura swiftly chases after him, continuing to envelop his body.
With a swoosh sound, Ah Dai drilled out of the meridian cloaked in the Evil Aura, and shockingly, the dark blue Evil Aura followed him out. Ah Dai had a sudden idea, he deliberately slowed down, allowing the Evil Aura to follow him as he moved closer to the golden sea. Ah Dai carefully controlled the golden meridian filled with Divine Energy, slowly hiding the energy contained in the meridian, and entered the vast meridian under the cover of the Evil Aura. Ah Dai sneered in his heart, I dare not touch you in the meridian in my brain, but not here in my territory, you should never think about going back. To prevent the Evil Aura from corrupting the meridian, he first released the Divine Energy stored in the meridian. Immediately, the whole meridian turned into a solid golden color. The Evil Aura that followed Ah Dai’s Golden Body into the meridian panicked and released Ah Dai’s body, intending to retreat using the same way it came. But how could Ah Dai let it return? The golden glow suddenly expanded, Ah Dai’s Golden Body quickly grew stronger, and he moved to control the end of the meridian, using energy from the golden sea to seal off the exit, and then rushed forward, aiming straight for the dark blue aura of Evil Aura. Without any concerns, under Ah Dai’s full force, the Evil Aura did not have any resistance and was dissolved by the Sacred Aura infused with Liquid life essence.
After destroying this Evil Aura, Ah Dai calmed down and thought to himself, Even if the amount of Evil Aura remaining in my brain is abundant, there’s a limit to its quantity. If I follow the method just now, attract the Evil Aura bit by bit to wipe them out, I am sure to eventually destroy the Malevolent and Evil Aura altogether.
With this thought, Ah Dai regained his confidence and again shrank his body to fly out of the meridian. He still used the Liquid life essence like a golden sea as his backup, adjusted the state of his Golden Body, entirely concealing all the energy. He did not fly back to the previous meridian, instead, he drilled into another thicker meridian. This meridian contained a grey Malevolent Aura, which was even more ferocious than the Evil Aura. As Ah Dai rushed into their territory, surging grey gas suddenly attacked, aiming to engulf Ah Dai completely. However, the Golden Body can be considered the foundation of all Liquid life essence, its contained energy is so vast that the Malevolent Aura in this meridian cannot pose any threat. Ah Dai didn’t withdraw immediately, but instead floated in the meridian, waiting for wave after wave of grey aura to completely surround him before he slowly exited the meridian. The Malevolent Aura was easier to deal with than the Evil Aura. Although it was ferocious, it did not have as much penetrating power as the Evil Aura. It seemed that half of the Malevolent Aura in the meridian was drawn out by Ah Dai because under the effect of Liquid life essence, they were quickly dissolved. Ah Dai was overjoyed, he knew that he had found the right method. He temporarily abandoned the dark blue meridian and only drilled into the grey meridians where Malevolent Aura lurked. In this way, strands of Malevolent Aura were continually drawn out and encircled by Liquid life essence. After an unknown amount of time, Ah Dai noticed that the color of the meridians in his brain had restored considerably, and moreover, his mind was clearer. Almost half of all the Malevolent Aura had already been dissolved, Ah Dai decided to temporarily leave the Malevolent Aura. To completely root it out isn’t easy, his aim once again was the Evil Aura. Ah Dai continuously used the same method, cleaning the alien energy in his body. His mind gradually became clearer as the foreign energy contained in the meridians of his brain diminished.
In truth, the Malevolent Aura could not be compared with the Evil Aura produced by the Sword of Hades. The Malevolent Aura originated from the evil thoughts of Ah Dai himself and the resentment generated by the people he killed, gradually accumulating as he killed more and more people. The Evil Aura from the Sword of Hades, however, came from absorbing souls over ten thousand years and the innate Ultimate Evil Energy, the two energies are fundamentally different. If it weren’t for Ah Dai using the Netherworld realm at the beginning to preserve all the Liquid life essence within himself, he would have been controlled by the massive Evil Aura. Nevertheless, the combined destructive force created by the duo of Evil Aura and Malevolent Aura was immense. Ah Dai’s Liquid life essence barely suppressed these two alien energies with the help of the Sacred Aura brought by Mie Feng’s singing of the Prayer Charm. However, these two alien energies were not easy to deal with. Although they could not match the Liquid life essence in terms of energy quantity, both the Evil and Malevolent Aura instinctively knew that the brain was the key area, hence, they united and concentrated all their energy in the brain. As long as the Liquid life essence struck, they would resist with all their might, preserving their last bastion. During the time when Ah Dai was unconscious, the Liquid life essence really couldn’t do anything. What Ah Dai should be most thankful for was the spell on the sheath of the Sword of Hades that sealed it. Without the mysterious and powerful spell on the sheath restricting the outflow of the Evil Aura of the Sword of Hades, with the soul of the Sword of Hades, his body would have been controlled by the Evil Aura. The fact that his body can maintain its current state, could be said to be very fortunate for Ah Dai. Although the soul of the Sword of Hades had very low intelligence, it had an instinctive function and was the source of the Evil Aura. After absorbing countless souls, the original soul of the Sword of Hades had grown to an unimaginable strength. If it found an opportunity, there would never be a chance for Ah Dai to turn the tables.
As time went on, the Evil and Malevolent Auras in his brain gradually faded, and the blood vessels in his brain had regained some of their original color. Even a few blood vessels had been reclaimed by Ah Dai. Ah Dai wasn’t in a hurry. He knew that to completely destroy these evil auras, he needed to solidify his occupied territory and not give the enemy a chance to turn the tables. Therefore, he wanted to use the Liquid Life Essence in his Dantian to consolidate the blood vessels he had occupied, turning them into golden streams, gradually reclaiming more territory bit by bit. As he thought about it, waves of golden energy slowly flowed into the largest vessel Ah Dai had seized. He carefully integrated them into the vessel, strengthening its resilience. When the vessel was almost completely healed by the energy, Ah Dai suddenly found that all the blood vessels in his brain seemed to have stirred. The gray Malevolent Aura, the dark blue Evil Aura, rushed madly at the vessel he was consolidating. It was at this moment that Ah Dai realized that these alien True Qi had sensed danger; hence, they were fighting back so strongly. He did not panic, flitting in the air, settling at the end of the vessel he was consolidating. He enlarged himself to exactly the right size to block the entrance of the vessel, blocking all of the Malevolent and Evil Auras outside. At the same time, he kept consolidating the vessel, and the golden ocean in his Dantian, withdrawn under his direction, accumulated outside the vessel, forming a massive whirlpool of energy.
The outcome was hanging in the balance, and Ah Dai’s heart could not help but race. Wave after wave of surging energy hit his body incessantly, and even his Golden Body, so potent in energy, felt chills under persistent pressure, and its life force weakened considerably. Sensing that the golden ocean in his Dantian had been arranged according to his wishes, Ah Dai’s Golden Body internalized its energy and retreated in a flash via the vessel he had consolidated. What greeted him was an ocean of surging Liquid Life Essence. Nourished by the Liquid Life Essence, his Golden Body recovered instantly.
The madly rushing combination of the Evil and Malevolent Auras flooded into the vessel, as the Liquid Life Essence under Ah Dai’s command surged forward, enveloping the alien True Qi from all directions. The final confrontation had begun. The constantly circulating Liquid Life Essence formed a bag-like structure, and the Evil and Malevolent Auras, with their constant influx, were rapidly devoured by this energy bag that had been prepared. Under the violent onslaught, the Malevolent and Evil energies in Ah Dai’s brain surged brutally into the trap he had laid. Ah Dai released all the energy in his Golden Body into the golden energy bag, ensuring the total eradication of the energies, regardless of how fast they surged in.
