Chapter 530: Chapter 130 Breakout_4
Yue Ji nodded, saying: "I know. Humph, sooner or later, our Moon Scar Mercenary Corps will kick all of them out of Red Hurricane City and become the new superior mercenary group." After saying this, she strode towards the Mercenary Guild, and as she walked to the entrance a Red Charming Clan mercenary stopped her and said: "Please show your mercenary card, mercenaries of junior rank or below are not allowed casual entry into the headquarters."
Yue Ji brought out her golden card from her bosom and flicked it in front of the mercenary, then walked in without looking back. A look of surprise flashed in the eyes of the guard. He had not expected this young girl to possess the status of a Special Class Mercenary. At this moment, Ah Dai and his group had also walked over. Ah Dai and Xuan Yue took out their mercenary cards voluntarily. Seeing Ah Dai’s card, the gatekeeper respectfully said: "Please come in, Special Class mercenaries may directly go to the second floor and receive quests. As for your friend, their mercenary card denotes them as a third class mercenary. Although you are a Magician, you are not allowed to enter the Guild’s headquarters. Please head to the branch in the north." While talking, he handed back Xuan Yue’s card.
Ah Dai quickly stepped in to explain for Xuan Yue: "Actually, this brother of mine is also a Special Class Mercenary. It’s just that he hasn’t renewed his mercenary card with the guild after completing his last mission. We’re here to get his card replaced this time." The gatekeeper appeared startled, thinking to himself: What a strange day! On normal days, it’s rare to see even one Special Class mercenary, yet three have come today. You have to realize, even within the Red Hurricane Mercenary Group, there are only a handful of Special Class mercenaries. He nodded at Ah Dai and said: "I’m sorry, we can only identify your rank through mercenary cards. If your friend truly is a Special Class Mercenary, I ask them to first go to the branch to take care of the upgrading procedures and receive the respective Magic Card then we would let him into the headquarters. These are the headquarters’ rules, and we’re merely gatekeepers, not in control."
Xuan Yue frowned and said: "Can’t you make an exception? Does it matter where the rank upgrade takes place!? If you really want, you can come with us, and you can leave after my mercenary level is confirmed."
The gatekeeper shook his head and said: "I’m sorry, as I said, we are only gatekeepers and have no authority, please leave. The Guild has rules, and we can’t break them just because of you."
Xuan Yue, feeling a little angry, said indifferently: "What if I insist on entering?"
The gatekeeper showed no signs of backing down, calmly saying: "Then you must step over my dead body to enter." Hearing this, both Xuan Yue and Ah Dai were taken aback. They had not expected such integrity from an ordinary mercenary of the Red Hurricane group. It seemed that the Red Hurricane Mercenary Group’s claim to the title of the number one mercenary group was indeed more than mere luck!
Being in a hurry to follow Yue Ji, Kino took out his Special Permit Token from his chest and asked: "Can I go in with this?" The gatekeeper glanced at the token in his hand, nodded and said: "Yes, this will do. Please, sir, enter." This Special Permit Token was issued by the Mercenary Guild to a few large mercenary groups to allow them to bring their junior mercenaries to the guild for a tour. Earlier, the store owner had obtained these Special Permit Tokens from a family member who was the head of a first class mercenary group and sold them.
Kino looked a bit embarrassed as he turned towards Ah Dai, saying: "Boss, it might not be safe for Miss Yue Ji to go in alone. I’ll go in first and wait for you guys inside." Before Ah Dai could reply, Kino hurried into the Mercenary Guild. Watching his hurried departure, Olivia couldn’t help but chuckle, murmuring to herself: "Men really do show their true colours when there’s a woman involved! This lad is hopelessly smitten, isn’t he?"
Ah Dai gave Olivia a glare and said: "Stop making things up. If Kino hears this, he might start a fight with you. You also have the token, so go in first. I’m worried about both of them. Keep an eye on them and ensure nothing happens." Olivia nodded, showed her token to the guard, and made her way into the Mercenary Guild.
Xuan Yue said: "Big brother, what do we do now? Do we really have to go to that branch first? What a hassle." Xuan Yue was extremely dissatisfied at being stalled outside.
Ah Dai frowned and said: "They’re just doing their job, this is tricky. If all else fails, we might have to go to the branch, or buy another Special Permit Token."
Xuan Yue’s temper flared up, and he walked up towards the four guards, angrily shouting: "I won’t go to the branch first. If anyone tries to stop me, don’t blame me for not being polite." A faint golden glow emanated from his body and Xuan Yue displayed his formidable power. Ah Dai was taken aback and quickly stepped forward, grabbing Xuan Yue’s shoulder, saying: "Brother, don’t cause a scene."
All four gatekeepers drew their long knives, staring at Ah Dai and Xuan Yue. Fear was apparent in their eyes, but not one of them retreated. The tension between the two parties was palpable and a conflict was imminent. Passing mercenaries stopped to watch. Surprise was reflected in their eyes; no one ever dared to cause trouble at the Mercenary Guild. As the standoff descended further into hostility, a clear voice rang out: "What’s going on? Why is everyone gathered here?"
The watching mercenaries all turned to look in the direction of the voice. Someone said, "The vice-leader has arrived, take a look. Some people are causing a commotion at the Guild entrance." The crowd opened a path.
