Xuan Ye shivered, knowing what staying behind meant. He quickly traced a cross in midair using the Wrath of the Gods. The golden cross emitted four rays of light in quick succession, each infusing energy into the four Holy Judges, thus revitalising their spirits. Under the boost of divine power, they managed to repel the enemy’s onslaught again. Xuan Ye sighed and shouted, "Warriors of God, the Pope is proud of you. Your souls will ascend to Heaven and receive the blessings of the Sky God." Holding back his tears, he mobilised his divine power and dashed towards his fellow clergymen. The important figures of this expedition were now reduced to just him, Xuan Yuan and Ballon. This was arguably the biggest loss and humiliation for the Church since its establishment a millennium ago.
Xuan Yuan floated in midair, using his fighting energy to resist the onslaught of the winged tribes. When a golden figure appeared, Xuan Yuan, recognizing it to be the Wing King, roared and, using his last strength, blasted out a handprint-shaped golden light.
The Wing King held his sword and struck, lightning-fast, at the approaching palm-shaped energy. In stark contrast to their first clash, Xuan Yuan was sent retreating, blood sprouting from his mouth as he fell towards the ground. His strength was already overdrawn from the intense battles, hence he couldn’t withstand such a fierce attack now. Seeing Xuan Yuan retreat, the Wing King was overjoyed, considering his opponent the most crucial figure of the Church’s expedition. As he prepared to pursue Xuan Yuan, he was shocked to detect a sharp wind full of divine energy approaching from behind — an attack threatening his life. Realizing he had no choice, he abandoned his pursuit and spun around, unleashing a full-strength strike at the sharp wind. Turning back, he saw a tower-shaped object heading toward him. Although the object was blown away in the mighty crash, the Wing King’s sword shattered, and he was sent spiraling, spouting blood. Xuan Ye appeared not far from him. The Wing King’s eyes flashed with awe — Xuan Ye’s previous Divine Judgment had left a deep impression. Like the Elf King, the Wing King’s lineage, was inherited from a single line of descent, and he valued his life above all else, hence he dared not stay and fight. He turned and vanished into the sky.
Watching the Wing King’s retreating figure, Xuan Ye breathed a sigh of relief. With his current condition, he wasn’t a match for Wing King; otherwise, he wouldn’t have used the Wrath of the Gods’ original body for an attack. Luckily, he managed to scare off the Wing King with the divine artifact’s power. Now, his only thought was to return to the church as quickly as possible and request the Pope to handle this matter personally. But could they really leave the Tian Yuan Clan in safety? And would the remaining Dark Eleven Kings let them go so easily?
Red Hurricane Clan, four men and a woman crossed the city gate and entered the clan’s capital, Red Hurricane City. The group’s attire, peculiar in the eyes of ordinary people, consisted of three individuals each dressed in Magic robes of Light, Wind, and Fire systems. The lone woman wore bright red armor, attracting many curious glances. Her voluptuous figure emanated a seductive wildness. The crescent-shaped mercenary logo on her left breast revealed her identity. The only one whose occupation could not be determined from his attire was a tall young man. He donned a black robe, and although ordinary in looks, he exuded an extraordinary aura of dominating presence. Not many dared to keep their gaze on him for long. They were Ah Dai and his companions. After days of travel, they finally arrived in Red Hurricane City, the origin place of mercenaries.
Every mercenary aspired to come to Red Hurricane City. The city spread over about 20,000 square kilometers. People in various mercenary outfits could be seen everywhere, with stores lining both sides of the street, many of them selling weapons and armors. There were, however, fewer ordinary shops.
"Finally, we have arrived. The Red Hurricane City is so huge! I have stayed in Suodi Federation for quite a long time, yet this is my first visit here." Olivia remarked excitably.
Kino, who had long lost interest in novel things as he only had Yue Ji on his mind, dismissed her comment disdainfully, "What a fuss about nothing! All cities are the same." Over the days, Yue Ji had come to tolerate Kino’s presence, despite continuing to show him no affection. Kino was easily contented. As long as he could watch Yue Ji, he would feel lucky. Ever since he used the Flame Dragon to exchange blows with Olivia, she had become much quieter, no longer jesting about his feelings for Yue Ji.
Reacting to Kino’s comment, Olivia retorted, "What would a shallow-minded person like you understand? Red Hurricane City is the birthplace of mercenaries and one of the few places on the continent worth visiting. If you don’t visit the Mercenary Guild here, it’s as if you’ve lived for nothing." With this, she wore a look of disdain. The rest were accustomed to their bantering. Ah Dai then said, "We’ve already wasted a lot of time on the way, so we shouldn’t stay here too long. Since Olivia says the Mercenary Guild is worth a visit, let’s go there and then leave for the Pu Yan Clan. What do you think, Xuan Re?"
