Chapter 523: Chapter 129 Soul Release_2

As Xuan Ye began to chant spells, the Moon King sensed a foreboding. The Level Eight Light Magic exerted enormous pressure on them, the dark spirits. He immediately ordered all the races to attack the people from the Holy Church, while commanding the sixth-ranked Dark Ice King and the eleventh-ranked Black Magic King to cast Dark Magic against Xuan Ye.

If Ah Dai were here, he would certainly recognize that Black Magic was the same Dark Magician who led the attack on the Mage Guild’s headquarters in the Province of Light. The Dark Ice King’s attire was the same as Black Magic’s, except that there was a blue icy ridge mark on the cap of the Dark Mage’s robe. Each of them was followed by dozens of Dark Magicians who began chanting rapidly as soon as they received orders from the Moon King. Among the Dark Forces, the race lacking the most were Magicians. Although nearly a millennium of recuperation and growth resulted in the Dark Forces growing to over a hundred thousand people, the vast majority of these people were alien races unfit to practice magic, hence magic was always their weak point.

Over ten species, along with thousands of alien soldiers, had already charged down as soon as the clouds of light formed, straight towards the Sacred Knights and Judges in the center of the valley. The clergy of the Holy Church, well-trained as they were, rallied under the leadership of the Judges, forming a solid defense line, protecting Xuan Ye at the heart of the formation. They all knew that only by allowing the Red Bishop to unleash the most powerful Light Magic could they obliterate these heretics and have a chance at survival. Xuan Yuan, Ballon, Babuyi, along with four Holy Judges and twenty Judges of Light, formed a formidable force, solidifying together, ready to strike down enemies through any breach in their defense. For a time, even though the Dark Forces held an absolute numerical advantage, they struggled to break the Church’s defense line. Whenever a Sacred Knight or Judge was injured, their companions behind would immediately replace them, allowing the injured to bandage their wounds in the shortest time possible. Following this method to thwart enemy attacks, adopted through hundreds of years of evolution by the Holy Knights, was extremely effective when facing large numbers, earning them the title of Dancing Sacred Knights. While severely outnumbered, this method aided them in inflicting significant casualties upon the enemy. The various races under the Dark Forces were no easier to deal with. There were fierce and brutal Dark Witchers, each of whom required at least three Sacred Knights to resist. Were it not for the support of the Judges, coupled with the scarcity of Dark Witchers, the Church’s defense line would have long fallen. Besides Dark Witchers, the Dragon People under the Dragon Man King were the most formidable, sharing a similar body durability with the Dark Witchers, they just slightly fell short in terms of offensive power, but they too posed significant problems for the Church. The attacks from the Dwarf Clan were surprisingly fierce. Although they were not a match for Dark Witchers and Dragon People, their larger numbers and enormous strength advantage were evident as they swung their wide-bladed battle axes, against which virtually no Sacred Knight could withstand head-on. Dark Witchers, Dragon People, and Dwarf Clan formed the main offensive, assisted by various Half-Beasts, creating a robust offensive force. For a while, both sides were in a stalemate, with casualties mounting. The clergy of the Holy Church was battling the alien races for the first time. They were not fearful, yet they were not used to the enemy’s tactics. In a flash, the outer circle of a hundred men had already retreated due to injuries and was replaced by others.

Xuan Ye’s Divine Judgment finally erupted. The first bolt of lightning from the cloud of light accurately hit the hilltop where the Moon King and other leaders were. Just a moment before the lightning arrived, a layer of a black barrier emerged rapidly, barely holding off the lightning initiated by the Divine Judgment thanks to the combined defense of dozens of Dark Magicians. However, Holy Light Magic had an additional effect on Dark Magic, and nearly half of the lower level Dark Magicians had turned entirely into ashes. However, the Moon King and several skilled martial arts Kings seized this opportunity to leave the hilltop and charge into the valley headed straight for the troops.

The Dark Ice King’s magic power was nearly on par with a Magic Tutor, while the Black Magic King was slightly inferior. Combining their power with a dozen Dark Magicians initially formed a potent force. Unfortunately for them, their opponent was Xuan Ye, the youngest Red Robe Priest from the Holy Church, who joined forces with six White Robe Priests. After all, how could they resist? When the second Divine Judgment lightning arrived, the Dark Ice King and the Black Magic King knew they couldn’t resist, instantly using a pre-prepared scroll to escape, while their remaining subordinates turned into ashes under Xuan Ye’s full-force attack. Even as the Dark Forces overall maintained an advantage, their Magicians suffered a devastating blow.

Commanding great awe, Xuan Ye exerted his divine power to the limit, with golden lightning bolts continually striking from the sky to the most crowded spots of the enemy. Each thunderous boom took the lives of hundreds of members of the Dark Races, turning their bodies into spots of light that disappeared amidst the valley. However, magic power was ultimately finite. Even with the combined power of Xuan Ye and six White Robe Priests, by the time they unleashed the twenty-third lightning bolt, they could barely sustain it. The cloud of light gradually faded, leaving Xuan Ye and the six White Robe Priests weakened, sitting on the ground struggling to gather the light elements in the air in preparation for the next attack. Their all-out Divine Judgment had brought brilliant results. This Level Eight Magic not only destroyed all Dark Magicians, apart from the Dark Ice King and Black Magic King but also took away nearly three thousand lives from the formidable alien races. This was the real power of a Light Magic Tutor. Assisted by Divine Judgment, the Holy Church’s troops also got a slight reprieve, making their resistance somewhat easier.
