Chapter 419: Chapter 89 Deadly Ambush_5

A year ago, they received news from the channels of the Empire of Tian Jing that Ah Dai had set off for the Illusive Forest. After seeking approval from their master, the nine men came secretly. However, the traps set by Goris within the Illusive Forest were unassailable, even for them. Many attempts to break through had failed. They were assassins — the strongest on the continent and possessed the patience of their kind. For the sake of accomplishing the task entrusted by their master, they had patiently lurked here for a whole year, believing that Ah Dai would eventually emerge from the mist. As expected, this morning, Ah Dai burst out of the mist, but he was moving too fast for them to find the right moment to strike. So, they stayed close, tailing him, waiting for the opportunity. Eventually, when Ah dai paused due to the White Tiger, the nine men began to creep up on him. As they watched Ah Dai tending to the White Tiger’s wounds, they prepared to ambush. However, with the caution of assassins, they did not attack rashly. The fighting energy Ah Dai released when he was controlling the White Tiger made them hesitate; they were afraid Ah Dai would use the White Tiger’s body as a shield during an attack. As assassins, the best outcome is to strike and kill on the first attempt, especially with Ah Dai carrying the threatening Sword of Hades. They were patient enough to wait for another year, it wouldn’t hurt to wait a little longer. But they never expected that no matter how capable they were at hiding, they couldn’t deceive the keen senses of the White Tiger, the King of the Forest. Although the White Tiger’s behavior had put Ah Dai in danger, it had also raised his vigilance. The assassins realized they could not afford to wait any longer and initiated an attack, even though it was not the best opportunity. They expected Ah Dai to dodge their powerful attack and had prepared a follow-up. However, instead of evading, Ah Dai chose to confront them head-on to protect the White Tiger behind him. His unexpected clone had momentarily distracted them, and despite their strong combat skills, they were unable to kill Ah Dai even after breaking the defense of the Ring of Guardian. What they dreaded the most happened — the distinct and dreaded aura of the Sword of Hades spread throughout the forest. The icy evil power was stimulating their bodies, making the assassins hesitate. Ah Dai looked at the nine men in front of him. From their murderous aura and attire, he was convinced they were assassins sent by the Assassin’s Guild. Their display of power exceeded that of the Yuan assassin’s strength. Even with the Sword of Hades, Ah Dai didn’t feel the slightest certainty of winning. Ah Dai slowly rose, wiping the blood from his mouth, his heart filled with intense hatred. All assassins, in his eyes, were demonic murderers who must be killed. They were the ones who murdered his uncle. The only thought in his mind was to take as many of them down with him before he himself died.

The nine assassins stared intently at Ah Dai, seeking a chance to strike. But Ah Dai’s hand was always on the Sword of Hades on his chest, and the overwhelming evil power formed a tremendous force field around him. Having experienced life and death under the Sword of Hades, they knew that anyone entering the death field of the Sword of Hades would inevitably suffer the attack of the most evil force in the world. That evil attack, which was absolutely irresistible, was something nobody would wish to confront. Thus, they dared not move rashly, silently confronting Ah Dai, biding their time. Ah Dai was, after all, injured. The moment he showed the slightest lapse, the nine of them would seize the opportunity to kill him.
