Chapter 337: Chapter 72 Marchioness_4

Ah Dai and his companions ran swiftly, as Zhuo Yun leaped into the air, a green glow emanated from her and enveloped the area. This place was filled with plants, making it a perfect venue for the Magic of Nature. With her swift spell casting, the vegetation around her suddenly sprouted wildly, forming barriers to block the pursuing guards. The foursome moved at a swift pace and in a blink of an eye, they reached the manor’s wall. Ah Dai and Yan Shi vaulted over it, leaving the manor and fleeing in a certain direction. The silver woman watched from her window as the figures of Ah Dai and his companions vanished into the distance. She knew her minions stood no chance of catching up with them. She herself dared not rashly pursue. After all, the Sword of Hades carried by the Grim Reaper posed a great threat to her. Her eyes flamed with fury. Like Cat Woman, she was one of the Twelve Kings of the Mysterious Organization. Seeing her beloved "pet" stolen and being pushed into a state of disorder fueled her rage to its peak.

The ruckus in the manor did not seem to raise an alarm outside. Mica City was unusually quiet in the dead of night. The clear sky above and moonlight added a scant brightness to the dim earth below. The four of them raced toward the southern city gates. They soon spotted the broad city tower. The gates were heavily guarded, prompting Ah Dai to turn toward Yan Shi and ask, "Elder brother, what do we do now? Do we charge through?"

Shaking his head, Yan Shi replied, "Let’s climb over and avoid creating any commotion."

Ah Dai looked worriedly at the blanket in his hands. The temperature of the young elf inside kept rising. He recognized it as the consequence of consuming the Harmony Dew. He didn’t come across this poison in Goris’s notes. Now, they needed to find a safe place first before they could attempt to detox him.

With great caution, the four of them stealthily skulked to the corner of the city tower and began their ascent. Although Ah Dai carried a person, his advanced Life Battle Spirit manifested a thin thread that hoisted them up. The patrol on the city wall wasn’t too strict; most of the guards were dozing off. The four of them escaped the city without alerting any soldiers and raced southwest. Only after running for more than ten miles, leaving Mica City as a mere shadow behind, did they stop for breath. Zhuo Yun gleefully approached Ah Dai, asking, "Did we rescue another one of our kind? Quickly, let me see who it is."

Placing the blanket on the ground, Ah Dai let out a bitter smile, saying, "Sister, this ’individual’ of your race is a male, and he’s naked right now. It’s best you don’t look."

Zhuo Yun’s cheeks reddened, and she said, "Then you put some clothes on him first." Upon saying this, she turned around to avoid looking at Ah Dai.

Ah Dai took out a set of Yan Shi’s clothes from Dragon’s Blood. When he opened the blanket, he was shocked to see that the elf boy’s body had turned red. Sweat continuously dripped off him, as if he was in great pain. As Ah Dai awkwardly dressed him, Yan Shi asked in astonishment, "Ah Dai, what’s wrong with him?"

Ah Dai replied, "Elder brother, I heard that hateful Marchioness say that he seems to have consumed something called Harmony Dew and something else called Soft Muscle Powder."

Yan Shi was taken aback. He had heard from his people that Harmony Dew was a potent aphrodisiac that could arouse one’s sexual desires. He hurriedly said, "Quick, Ah Dai, try to help him calm down with the evil energy from the Sword of Hades. If this continues, he’ll burn up and die."

Upon hearing Yan Shi’s words, Zhuo Yun turned around. The moment she saw the elf boy’s face, she let out a cry of surprise. This elf boy was someone she knew well. He was her childhood friend and betrothed — Kite. That day, it was whilst they were sneaking off to meet each other that they were ambushed and captured by the thieves of the Guild. She excitedly grabbed Kite’s shoulders, shaking his body, "Kite, what’s wrong, Kite."

Ah Dai gripped the hilt of Sword of Hades, channeled a thread of chilling evil energy through his Life True Qi, and pushed it into Kite’s body. Kite shuddered but then gradually calmed down.

Ah Dai grabbed Kite’s wrist and infused his True Qi into Kite to help dispel the two types of poisons in his body. Under the balancing and neutralising effects of Life True Qi, the toxins in Kite’s body – although not severe – began to purge little by little. Meanwhile, Ah Dai managed to lift the magic barrier blocking Kite’s voice.

With a deep sigh, Kite slowly opened his eyes. Zhuo Yun saw that the once-clear eyes were now much duller, with a lifeless look. "Kite, it’s me, Kite. You’re safe now. They were sent by the queen to save us. You are safe," she said. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Looking at Zhuo Yun, Kite’s eyes began to show a glimmer of light. He trembled as he said, "Yun, is that you? Yun, I, I can’t believe I can see you again, I really can."

Zhuo Yun pulled Kite’s upper body into her arms, comforting him, "It’s alright, Kite. You are safe now. Once we rescue the others, we can go home." Seeing their intimate behavior, Yan Shi looked away in melancholy, taking a step back and lowering his head.

It seemed as if Kite had regained a bit of strength. He struggled out of Zhuo Yun’s arms and said, "Yun, I’m sorry." Tears flowed down his cheeks as his body trembled continuously. He murmured, "Yun, I’m defiled. I’m no longer worthy of you. I can’t return to the Elf Clan. I can’t allow my defiled body to tarnish our Elf City. I’m sorry, Yun." With a sudden strength, he took his right hand and plunged it into his chest.
