Chapter 325: Chapter 71 Ah Dai’s Heart_2

Ah Dai’s voice trembled as he stepped forward towards the young girl in front of him. "Bing, is that you? Bing?" he asked hesitantly.

The girl looked into Ah Dai’s hopeful eyes and, for reasons unknown, her formerly firm killing intent softened. "Who’s your Bing? I’m here to take your life," she said with a frown. This young girl was Mie Feng, the youngest collection agent in the Thieves’ Guild and the guild leader’s daughter. When she had learned of Ah Dai’s whereabouts, she had quietly slipped out of the guild, followed Ah Dai for several days, and finally figured out their route, seizing the opportunity to fulfill her mission of vengeance for her fourth uncle in this remote place. However, what she hadn’t anticipated was that Ah Dai’s abilities had vastly improved since their time in Elf Forest. Although he hadn’t used the Sword of Hades, he didn’t let her gain the upper hand.

A strong yearning welled up in Ah Dai’s heart at the sight of the girl, who bore an uncanny resemblance to Bing. Even Ah Dai himself wasn’t sure how he felt about Bing. He didn’t pine for Bing the way he did for Xuan Yue, yet Bing’s death left a significant mark on him - he viewed it as his greatest regret. Bing had died for him, saving his life twice. Despite the humiliation Bing had suffered, Ah Dai saw her as incredibly pure. Now, the girl in front of him seemed like Bing resurrected. How could he not be elated?

Mie Feng knew she wouldn’t be able to kill Ah Dai. With a cold huff, she suddenly floated backward. Ah Dai, seeing her try to leave, yelled out, "Bing, don’t leave me." He rushed forward and instinctively used his technique to create a Silver Body from the energy within his Dantian. Yellow tendrils of his battle aura drifted towards Mie Feng’s delicate body to envelop her.

Mie Feng was startled. She waved her daggers rapidly to create a defensive web, but Ah Dai had no intention of hurting her. The waves of his aura were gentle; the golden strands floated as she darted her daggers up and down. Instead of repelling Mie Feng, they encompassed all the space around her. Suddenly, Mie Feng felt a tightness enveloping her, and she found herself bound by the threads of Ah Dai’s Aura, unable to move.

Ah Dai floated over and landed in front of Mie Feng. Tears brimmed in his eyes as he pulled her into a tight embrace, mumbling incessantly, "Bing, Bing, don’t leave me again. Stay, won’t you?"

Mie Feng went completely stiff in Ah Dai’s warm embrace. This was the first time a man other than her father had held her. The masculine energy emanating from Ah Dai caused her heart to flutter intensely. Feeling his strong emotions, Mie Feng stood frozen, her mind a blank void.

Yan Shi, Ah Dai’s companion, rushed over. He pulled Ah Dai back, reminding him that the Bing look-alike standing before him was there to take Ah Dai’s life. How could he let Ah Dai mistake her for Bing? With a one loud slap, Yan Shi smacked Ah Dai across his face, sending him staggering backward, "Ah Dai, look clearly. She isn’t Bing. She’s here to kill you. Don’t tell me you wish to die?" The shock of Yan Shi’s words caused Ah Dai to lose his focus, and the threads of yellow aura binding Mie Feng instantly vanished. Mie Feng, feeling suddenly lighter, shot Yan Shi a venomous look. Just as Yan Li was about to grab her, she quickly retreated to a distance and managed to dodge the entangling vines that Zhuo Yun, with his natural magic, had summoned. In a few moments, she had disappeared from their sight.

Ah Dai stood rooted to the spot, watching Mie Feng leave. A sense of loss overwhelmed him. As he held Mie Feng earlier, he had realized that she was not Bing. Her face was cold, but her body was warm – unlike Bing, whose body and soul were both fraught with coldness. He murmured to himself, "She isn’t Bing. She isn’t Bing."

Yan Shi, his eyes seething with anger, roared, "Have you lost your mind? You embraced a woman who came to kill you. If your aura was slightly weaker, she would have killed you by now. The woman from a while ago was clearly from the Thieves’ Guild. Have you forgotten everything that happened in the Elf Forest? You jackass, are you trying to get yourself killed?"

Ah Dai was thunderstruck, his gaze clearing as he finally remembered the collection agents they had met in the Elf Forest. Those twin daggers, those unique movement techniques, and that sharp battle aura were all representative of the Thieves’ Guild. What was wrong with him? Why did he behave that way?

Yan Shi approached Ah Dai, took out the portrait of Bing from Ah Dai’s chest pocket, and threw it back at him, shouting, "Take a good look! This is Bing, not the girl from before."

Ah Dai jumped at Yan Shi’s sudden outburst and hurriedly caught the falling portrait. As he squatted on the ground, carefully holding Bing’s portrait to ensure it wasn’t damaged, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Zhuo Yun could watch no more. She rushed over to Ah Dai, pulling his head into her embrace and sobbing, "Stop tormenting him! Can’t you see how brokenhearted he is?" Soothed by Zhuo Yun’s tenderness, Ah Dai’s body slowly relaxed. His eyes welled up with tears again as he laid his head on Zhuo Yun’s lap and cried inconsolably. The pent-up emotions he had been suppressing for over a month now seemed to explode all at once. His tall figure trembled in Zhuo Yun’s embrace, his tears streaming down profusely, soaking Zhuo Yun’s clothing.
