Chapter 319: Chapter 69: Three Styles of Hades_5
It was then that Yan Shi remembered the age ratio of elves and was left tongue-tied, at a loss for words. Yan Li chuckled and said, "In that case, we should be calling you Elder Elf Sister."
The elf girl smiled slightly and said, "Actually, according to the ratio, I’m equivalent to a twenty-year-old among you humans."
Ah Dai, who was sitting on the ground, asked in a placid voice, "Elf Sister, do you know where the rest of your captured kind are?"
The elf girl’s face darkened and she shook her head, saying, "I don’t know. My name is Zhuo Yun. Back in Elf Forest, I and another sister of mine were captured by a group of people in black. They fed us some sort of hallucinogenic drug that kept our minds muddled. When I finally sobered up, I found that there were sixteen of us elves in total who had been captured, including our little princess. Those people in black were incredibly cold and never spoke to us. We were kept confined in several horse-drawn wagons for who knows how long before they took us off and locked us up all in one dungeon. We are completely incapacitated, without even the strength to kill ourselves. Later, one by one, my tribesfolk were taken away, leaving only me after two sisters and an elder brother were taken to the Dark City Club. I haven’t the faintest clue where they are. You must rescue my people from the clutches of those terrifying humans! Their plight must be absolutely horrific." Zhuo Yun’s large eyes began to well up with tears, her transparent wings beating gently behind her as an expression of deep sorrow spread over her face.
Yan Shi pondered for a moment and said, "According to what you’ve said, our assumption is correct. The elves must have been trafficked all over the Empire of Sunset City. It seems we’ll have to go searching one place at a time."
A thought suddenly struck Ah Dai, and he pulled the now-green Elf Bracelet from the Dragon’s Blood and asked, "Sister Zhuo Yun, how can the Elf Bracelet sense the essence of the rest of your kind if you’re always with us?"
Zhuo Yun replied, "It’s simple. If the Elf Bracelet absorbs a drop of my fresh blood, it will no longer sense my essence. You may then use it to search for the rest of my kind." She stepped closer to Ah Dai as she spoke, gently biting the tip of her finger to create a small cut, from which she let a drop of her fresh blood fall onto the Elf Bracelet. Just as she had said, the glow of the Elf Bracelet gradually dimmed until it returned to its original lustrous emerald green without any glow.
Yan Shi said, "Let’s rest here for a while. When Ah Dai has rested up, we’ll change our clothes and then go search for the elves in the next city."
Ah Dai nodded, said no more, and closed his eyes to meditate and cultivate. He cultivated for an entire day and night before he finally felt himself at the pinnacle of his potential. Ah Dai found that his silver body in the Dantian seemed to have absorbed some power from the second Golden Body bestowed upon him by the Sword Saint, which had slightly increased his power.
Two days later, they found a secluded small village and bought some ordinary civilian clothes from the locals. To hide Zhuo Yun’s elvish characteristics, they specially bought her a hat and covered her transparent wings with a cloak. From afar, no one could identify her. Thus, the four of them continued on their journey to rescue the elves.
By now, the name of the Grim Reaper had begun to spread across the Empire of Sunset City.
Assassin’s Guild.
"What? The Grim Reaper? Where did this Grim Reaper come from?" The Guild master asked in astonishment.
The Vice President of Assassin’s Guild respectfully said, "According to the information from the Thieves’ Guild, something big happened in Dark City. Not only was the city’s number one casino destroyed, but also the City Lord’s Mansion was bathed in blood, and no one managed to escape. Moreover, the night before the incident, a golden divine light appeared in Dark City, causing one percent of the entire city to disappear completely, a very eerie scene indeed."
The Guild master fell into deep thought, and after a long while, he finally asked, "Do we know how the people in the City Lord’s Mansion died?"
