Chapter 289: Chapter 63 Ice’s Dissuasion_4
As Ah Dai and his companions stepped into the fourth floor, Ah Dai’s eyes immediately went to Bing, who had been waiting for them. Dressed in a new outfit, a white shirt and trousers embracing her exquisite figure. Her countenance was still as cold as always, but upon seeing Ah Dai, there flashed a hint of grievance in her eyes. Standing beside Bing were the two girls whom they had seen with the Yan brothers at the Noble hall. They quickly greeted Yan Shi and Yan Li with a modest nod. One of the girls said, "Esteemed guests, please come with us." And she led the way.
Walking to Bing’s side, Ah Dai awkwardly nodded at her. Bing frowned slightly, then took his hand by surprise leading him to follow the Yan brothers. Her hand was as cold as her name suggested, but it felt wonderful under Ah Dai’s fingers as she stroked his hand. Suddenly, Ah Dai felt something different. Paying close attention to her finger’s movement, which was shaping characters, he read: Why are you still here? Don’t you know how dangerous it is?
Ah Dai was taken aback. Communicating telepathically, he wrote back, "Danger be it, we haven’t much of a choice but to come! Miss Ah Bing, don’t stay in this place. Come along with us."
Bing shivered at his words and gave Ah Dai a glance. He saw something glistening in her eyes. Bing’s finger moved again, writing, "Do you think I can still leave this place? It’s not too late for you to leave now. Just go!" Her firm repetition of ’go’ was clear, yet Ah Dai, paying no heed, continued ahead while holding her hand.
Bing looked down, anxiety flickered in her eyes. She stopped writing and sank into her thoughts.
Soon, they reached the main hall of the fourth floor. The hall was dimly lit, a contrast to the bright casinos downstairs. There were no gambling equipment here, only luxurious sofas in rows. At the front stood a vast, high platform, empty as of now. Two girls from earlier guided Ah Dai and his party to the middle sofas on the left and invited them to sit down. A table in front of the sofa bore a card showing ’36’. Various fruits and beverages were placed on the table. Yan Shi glanced at Ah Dai before they all took their seats on the inviting large sofa. The girls sat down by the Yan brothers without uttering another word. Yan Li was visibly nervous and kept his gaze on himself. On the other hand, Yan Shi was searching the room.
Bing sat close to Ah Dai. He could feel the icy touch of her skin through her clothes, tempting him. Conscious of his present circumstance, he felt embarrassed. Bing tightened her hold on Ah Dai’s hand and silently wrote, "Take care and leave as soon as possible." Ah Dai looked at Bing; her face still showed her icy disposition, yet her hands felt a bit warmer. There was also a rise in temperature from her body. Ah Dai found himself thrown into this atmosphere. He thought of creating some distance with Bing, but he was sitting on a wide sofa which was just right for six people, with one of the white-clad girls on his other side. If he moved, he would inevitably come in contact with her. Between the two, Ah Dai felt more comfortable next to Bing.
Ah Dai asked, "Is this the place where the auction will be held?" Bing looked at him and slightly nodded. Meanwhile, people started trickling on the girls’ lead into the auction hall. It was quite hard to distinguish their features due to the dim light. When about twenty guests had entered, the flow of entrants stopped. The hall’s door suddenly closed and the hall grew even darker without the external light. Ah Dai suddenly noticed that Bing, sitting beside him, was trembling slightly, and her breathing was a bit hurried. He asked her through telepathy, "Is something wrong?"
Bing tightened her hold on Ah Dai’s hand, writing, "Let me lean on you for a while." Finished writing, she leaned into Ah Dai, resting her head on his shoulder. She enclosed his arm as if in a hug. Her body nestled closely against his. Ah Dai shivered. Looking down at Bing, he saw her looking back at him. Amidst the glaze in her eyes, he saw a cocktail of emotions – satisfaction, sorrow, defiance and excitement. He realized that Bing chose to lean into him not out of lust but due to her genuine feelings. Though Bing’s embrace was highly enticing, Ah Dai could not muster the heart to push her away. He just kept silent, letting her lean on him, and felt her heart rate quickening.
"Welcome, esteemed guests, to the Nightclub’s secret auction hall," suddenly came a voice from the stage. A light beam lit the centre of the stage. The speaker was none other than the always smiling Jin Bo. He scanned the hall from the podium and continued, "Our auction is held once a month. Over the past month, we have gathered some rare treasures for your perusal. Our rules remain the same. After the base price is announced, guests can bid using their table cards, raising the price by increments of one thousand Gold Coins."
