Chapter 284: Chapter 62: Tens of Millions of Assets_4

In the secret room on the fourth floor of the Dark Tycoon Nightclub, a pallid middle-aged man sat in a chair listening to Jin Bo’s report. Jin Bo respectfully relayed in detail everything Ah Dai and his companions had done.

The middle-aged man frowned, "What exactly is their purpose in coming here? If they’re just here for pleasure, that would be easy to handle. If that magician is willing to work for me, I wouldn’t mind even offering him the elves. Yet, are their motives really that simple? Jin Bo, what do you think?"

Jin Bo lowered his head and said, "Master, I’m unsure of their true intentions. However, I feel that aside from the dwarf, the other two aren’t allured by the pleasures we offer here. They don’t seem to be the kind of men who can be swayed by beauty. I just heard a report that the mages in Noble Hall referred to the young man as an elder and showed much respect. Could he be an elder of the Mage Guild? If so, his purpose here won’t be so straightforward. The people of the Mage Guild generally don’t have a favorable opinion of our Sunset Empire. Master, they’ve already won tens of millions of Gold Coins. No matter their purpose, we can’t let them leave easily."

The middle-aged man nodded, "This is getting more interesting. Don’t rush, we’ll observe them during tonight’s auction. No matter how capable they are, they will not escape my grasp. You can go prepare for the auction."

"Yes, Master." Jin Bo respectfully acknowledged before turning to leave.

The man standing next to the middle-aged man, Eagle, spoke, "Master, my views are different than Jin Bo’s." The middle-aged man looked at him, "Let’s hear it." Eagle was one of his most trusted subordinates, known for his thoughtful insights and undeniable talent.

After a moment of contemplation, Eagle began, "Based on my interactions with Ah Dai and his companions, they do not seem to be representing the Empire of Washington, nor do they seem to pose any threat to us. They appear to have a specific goal, seemingly in search of something. Although I can’t be certain what that is, I do believe that it would not pose a threat to us. I suggest we avoid conflict with them. Otherwise, we risk suffering a significant loss."

The middle-aged man stood up and looked at Eagle with a stern gaze, "After spending time with them, it seems you have changed your mind. Remember, we represent darkness. Even if they do not pose a threat to us now, we cannot let them off easily. If such powerful individuals cannot be made to serve me, then they must be destroyed. You’ve been with me for many years, Eagle. You should know how I operate. I hope it’s not because you’ve become too timid. Remember, opposition to me never ends well."

Eagle took a sharp breath, a cold sweat breaking out on his skin, he hastily replied, "Yes, Master, I am in the wrong. "

The middle-aged man picked up a cup of water from the table, took a sip, and pat Eagle on the shoulder, sighing, "I remember all the contributions you’ve made for me. But sometimes, one mistake is all it takes and all cannot be undone. Go, gather our men, and stand by for my orders. I need to report to the City Lord and attend to a distinguished guest who has just arrived at the City Lord’s Mansion."

Eagle, with a hint of unease, quickly nodded and said, "Yes, Master." He hastened out of the secret room.

The middle-aged man gazed at Eagle’s retreating figure, muttering, "That boy, Ah Dai, indeed possesses a strong charm. He even managed to move Eagle. In terms of this, after this event concludes, it might be time for Eagle to rest." With these words, a cruel glint flashed in his eyes, and the water cup in his hand was crushed to dust.

While Ah Dai and his friends were idly chatting, Jin Bo suddenly appeared before them. He approached them with an ingratiating smile, "Gentlemen, why have you stopped playing? Did our staff fail to cater to your needs? "

Yan Shi shook his head, "That’s not it. We’ve come from afar and are feeling a bit tired. We’d like to rest a bit. Moreover, we’ve won so much that if we keep winning, your boss might clean us out as unwelcome guests. It’s better to quit while we’re ahead. Is there something you need, Jin? After all, it’s still afternoon."

Jin Bo awkwardly smiled, "Nothing in particular, gentlemen. If you’re tired, I can take you to a room. We have special rooms for our honored guests to rest."

Yan Shi nodded, "That’s good, we really need to rest. Lead the way, if you please. "

Jin Bo humbly agreed and led the three men out of the Noble Hall, past a corridor lined with dozens of doors on either side. He had his subordinates open three of them, saying, "Gentlemen, please rest. I will invite you to the auction tonight." He then turned to three young girls, including Ice, saying, "You need to serve our revered guests well, understood?"

The two girls excluding Ice promptly acknowledged while Jin Bo exchanged glanced with Ice, who simply nodded.

Yan Shi frowned and said, "Jin, perhaps it would be best if we abstained from that. You should know where our interest lies. Let’s discuss it tonight."
