Chapter 279: Chapter 61 Temptation, Temptation_3

Although Ah Dai did not strike back, the young girl felt weakened by his energy dissipation and stumbled aside, her face turning pale. She never expected that Ah Dai’s martial energy would be so powerful, capable of neutralizing her stealth attack under such unfavourable conditions. He looked at her sternly, but he couldn’t say anything given that he himself had cheated by manipulating the wooden ball’s direction with his martial energy. His heart softened seeing her shocked expression, so he frowned and turned his gaze back to the banker behind the roulette table.

Yan Shi had no idea about the predicament Ah Dai faced. Amid the cheers of two other gamblers, he said to the pale-faced banker, "Pay up. That’s a total of 1,875,000 Gold Coins."

The banker coughed nervously, saying in a low voice, "I’m sorry, but I don’t have enough chips here. Please wait a moment; I’ll go get some more."

Yan Shi silently praised the banker for maintaining composure despite such a huge loss. Even though he was apparently going to call for backup, he had no intention of defaulting on his payment. The banker left swiftly. Ah Dai continued to glare at the girl next to him. Her seductive demeanor had disappeared, replaced with a chilling fierceness. Ah Dai found his heart softening again and despite the girl’s frosty demeanor, he found her more attractive than her earlier flirtatious attempt, paused, sighed lightly, and still said nothing.

The girl reminisced, full of regret for her impulsive actions. Her task did not involve interfering with Ah Dai at all. She was merely affected by the energy fluctuations emitted by Ah Dai and had spontaneously wanted to test her skills against his. However, her abrupt attack did not succeed, and Ah Dai might now be on guard. She was ready to fend off any attacks from him. To her surprise, Ah Dai did nothing more than give her a few angry looks. It was as if nothing had happened, but what shocked her most was the flicker of admiration in Ah Dai’s eyes when she returned to her usual cold self. She subconsciously thought, "Could the uncaring me is more appealing than the me wearing a mask?"

Finally, the banker returned, accompanied by Jin Bo. Jin Bo seemed untroubled by the staggering amount of money the banker had lost. Behind them, a burly man carried a large tray filled with dark red chips - about two hundred in total.

"Well, we meet again so soon. I hadn’t realized you were all such skilled gamblers. I apologize for my earlier rudeness. Here are your winnings. They can be converted into cash at any time in our Dark Tycoon Club. Please accept them." He gestured for the burly man to hand over the tray of chips.

Ah Dai took the tray and was surprised to find that each chip was worth 10,000 Gold Coins. The dark red chips were made of Red Crystals, an extremely valuable material. This clearly demonstrated the immense wealth hidden within the Dark Tycoon Club!

Yan Shi stepped up to Ah Dai, completely oblivious to Ah Dai’s earlier encounter with the girl. Turning his attention to Jin Bo, he said with a light smile, "We’ve been lucky today. We bet on single numbers twice and won both times. We should thank you, Jin, for your earlier good luck charm! Jin, do you think the Dark Tycoon would be able to pay up if we bet all our money on single numbers again?"

Jin Bo’s expression changed slightly as he said, with a somewhat unnatural smile, "Of course we can afford to pay, but I’m afraid you’re not suitable to play here any longer."

Yan Shi’s expression darkened. "What do you mean by that?"

Jin Bo suddenly regained his composure, smiling as he said, "Please don’t misunderstand, sir. I mean to say that, considering your current assets and the esteemed company of a Magician, you are more than qualified to enjoy the superior services offered on our third floor. Over there, you will receive a much better welcome."

Yan Shi and Ah Dai exchanged glances before responding, "Alright, we’ve heard that the third floor of the Dark Tycoon is like a paradise on earth. It’s a great opportunity to experience it for ourselves. Jin, could you please lead the way?"

Catching a glimpse of the girl beside Ah Dai, Jin Bo turned around, made an inviting gesture, and led the way. The three young women followed behind Ah Dai and his companions, quickly exiting the Noble Hall. As they were about to ascend the stairs, Yan Li noticed that the Xiao Mei, over whom he had been fussing the entire time, had not come along. He couldn’t help but ask, "Aren’t they coming with us?"

Jin Bo smiled apologetically, "They are the accompaniments specific to the Noble Hall. The third floor has better personnel to accompany you, their status is superior to these girls. Please rest assured, you will certainly receive better treatment in the Heaven’s Hall. Please, this way."

"Wait a minute." Ah Dai suddenly stopped Jin Bo. Taken aback, Jin Bo asked, "Sir, is there something else?"

Ah Dai nodded, "I don’t need any other companion. I want her to stay with me." As he spoke, he pointed to the girl who had just attacked him. He was deeply curious about this young woman because he had not sensed her sophisticated martial arts skills when she flirtatiously entangled him earlier. However, after her attack, she had become icy and unapproachable. He didn’t quite understand why he had asked her to stay, but something about her crystal clear frown—full of sadness and resentment—had compelled him.
