Chapter 275: Chapter 60: The Nightclub of the Hidden Tycoon_4

Vatanatang sprang to his feet, his face brimming with rage, exclaiming, "What? I borrowed fifteen thousand, and now I owe forty-five thousand gold coins? Just three months have passed!"

Jin Bo greeted this outrage with a smirk of contempt, "Vatanatang, don’t forget that we charged you a high-interest loan. It’s actually less than initially agreed, thanks to your status as a mage. If we had enforced the full amount, it’d probably exceed fifty thousand."

Fury surged in Ah Dai. Vatanatang was driven to despair, yet the elites of Dark City’s club still refused to let him off. Ah Dai retorted angrily, "Are you trying to milk him to death? You’re demanding an extra thirty thousand gold coins. What happens if he can’t repay?"

Since Ah Dai was a mage, Jin Bo dared not to be overly audacious. He replied faintly, "These are the rules set by our boss, and I can’t change them. If he doesn’t have the money to repay, then I can only express my apologies. Human life should be worth these gold coins. As a mage, you probably won’t mind this bit of loose change."

A flippant reference to forty-five thousand gold coins as ’loose change’ sent a wave of anger through good-natured Ah Dai. Now he understood why Yan Shi showed no mercy to Uncle Fatty earlier. As he was about to retort, Yan Shi stopped him. Yan Shi tossed the Black Magic Crystal Card that he had obtained from Uncle Fatty onto the table, "You should recognize this. Extract the money from it. That should be enough to pay off Vatanatang’s debt."

Upon seeing the Black Magic Crystal Card, a big smile spread across Jin Bo’s face, "Very well. If you’ve helped Mr. Vatanatang repay his debt, we will not trouble him again. Our club’s credibility is impeccable. Please wait here; I will return shortly." With these words, he strolled out. His two bodyguards remained at the door, apparently watching over Ah Dai and his group.

Ah Dai turned to Yan Shi and frowned, "Big brother, why did you give them so much money? They are extortionists."

Yan Shi grunted and replied in a low voice, "Don’t worry. It’ll come back to us. Now you may understand how terrible these bastards are. When we finish with Vatanatang’s business, we’ll take the same old route to recover it. This place is crawling with elves, we need to probe for as much information as possible."

Ah Dai didn’t object this time. He was set aflame not only by the hope of rescuing elves but also by the infuriating behavior of Jin Bo. He too desired to teach these heartless devils a lesson.

Vatanatang sat there, disheartened, he said in despair, "I...I didn’t know it would come to this. You guys had to spend so much money, it feels so wrong."

Ah Dai smiled, "Uncle, don’t worry. We promised to help you to the end."

Few moments later, Jin Bo returned, his face beaming. In a respectful tone, he handed the Black Magic Crystal Card back to Yan Shi, "I have deducted forty-five thousand gold coins from the card. As of now, Mr. Vatanatang owes us no more." As he spoke, he picked up the IOU from the table and tore it into pieces.

Yan Shi inquired, "Mr. Jin Bo, I was wondering if I could directly withdraw cash from my Magic Crystal Card here?"

Jin Bo replied, "No problem, would you like to withdraw some money for a few games?"

Yan Shi gave a faint smile, "Dark City is renowned for its largest casino, Dark City Hall. It’s inappropriate if we just leave without playing. I suppose I still have more than fifty thousand gold coins in this card. Give me fifty-five thousand gold coins, out of which fifty thousand coins will be exchanged for chips. You can convert the remaining five thousand to purple crystal coins."

Upon hearing that Yan Shi wanted to convert fifty thousand gold coins into chips, Jin Bo’s eyes gleamed with avarice. Agreeing instantly, he dashed off, and his bodyguards followed.

Yan Shi turned to Vatanatang, "Uncle, keep those five thousand gold coins and leave for the Empire of Huasheng. There, you can easily pass the guards by mentioning you’re sent by the Dragon Magician. With this money, you can live peacefully for the rest of your life. Ah Dai, do you have a token to hand over to uncle Vatanatang? Xiphil seems overly suspicious."

After a moment of thought, Ah Dai replied, "I don’t really have any token. How about this? When Jin Bo returns, I’ll ask him for a pen and paper and write a letter to Uncle Vatanatang."

Yan Shi nodded, "That works too."

Vatanatang fell to his knees in gratitude, his body trembling and tears streaming down his face. Ah Dai and Yan Shi hurriedly rushed to support him, with Ah Dai pleading, "Uncle, please don’t do this. You’ll kill us from guilt."

Vatanatang, sobbing in hysteria, spoke out, "You...You are my liberators! If there is a next life, I shall repay your kindness, even if it means I’d have to work as a beast of burden."

At this point, Jin Bo returned at twice the speed than before. One of his bodyguards held a large tray laden with golden chips. In his other hand was a well-fashioned money bag, which Jin Bo extended to Yan Shi while casually ignoring Vatanatang, who was breaking down on the ground, "Sir, inside this is fifty diamond badges. I believe you might find them more convenient to use. You can play directly on the second floor. I’ve already arranged everything. Our staff will provide you with the best service."
