Chapter 262: Chapter 57 Sheng Xie’s Deterrence_5

Ah Dai nodded and said, "Alright then. Captain Siri, you can remove the barrier now. I guarantee that the dragon will not harm anyone, but let’s not let the soldiers get too close to it."

Xiphil commanded, "Generals, go and control your soldiers. What kind of look is this, clustering around here, you’ll make a laughing stock of us to the Elder, won’t you? Where is the rigorous discipline we usually see in the formation of your troops? Elder, rest assured, our Tiger Army of Light has always been strict with discipline, they absolutely will not provoke your dragon. Elder, do you think I could also accompany you to have a closer look?" Xiphil’s expression was almost similar to Rick’s; the dragon, a creature from legends, who wouldn’t wish to have a touch with it?

Seeing Xiphil’s eager face, Ah Dai nodded and said, "Alright then."

Yan Shi snorted and said, "Now everyone is pretending to be a good person. When they were suspecting us before, they turned into shrinking turtles." Unlike the naive Ah Dai, Yan Shi would not be fooled by Xiphil’s words. Without a command from the highest authority, who would dare question a Mage Guild Elder carrying a token from Aldos?

Xiphil was a veteran soldier for many years and had developed excellent psychological quality. As if he did not hear anything, he accompanied Ah Dai into the barrier with Rick.

Ah Dai walked to Sheng Xie’s side, patted his big head, and whispered lovingly, "Big lazy one, you’re not asleep, are you? Eat quickly, we have to go back after you finish eating." Sheng Xie opened his eyes, saw two strangers beside Ah Dai, stood up immediately, a cold light flickering in its golden eyes, giving off a strong aura. The sight of it really scared Xiphil and Rick. Despite their skills, who could assure themselves that they could resist such a massive dragon?

Seeing Sheng Xie’s unfriendly behavior, Ah Dai quickly said, "Good boy, Xiao Qie, don’t be angry, they are friends who brought food for you."

It seemed that Sheng Xie didn’t hear Ah Dai’s words. It pounced toward Rick fiercely. Ah Dai tried to stop it, but found that Sheng Xie seemed to harbor no malice. Trained from climbing hills together with Ah Dai, a sudden burst of its speed rendered Rick unable to defend in time. His body pulled back, and he found Sheng Xie’s massive mouth already in front of him. He closed his eyes, thinking: I’m done for, curiosity killed the cat. His hand lightened, but he did not feel any pain. On opening his eyes, he saw the tray in his hands had been taken by the dragon. Sheng Xie placed the tray on the ground and began to tuck in heartily. In but a short while, it had cleaned up everything in the tray, leaving only a piece of dried fish. Sheng Xie grabbed the dried fish with its front claws, flapped its wings gently, and floated in front of Rick again. It stood up with its hind legs, blinked at Rick, patted Rick’s head with its other front claw, pointed at the dried fish in its hand, and finally threw the dried fish into its mouth before savoring it sweetly. Rick, the proud Second Lieutenant of the Tiger Army of Light, was utterly dumbstruck.

Seeing Rick being patted on the head like a child by the dragon and standing there stupefied, Xiphil couldn’t help but laugh, "Brother, this dragon is really smart! He’s telling you that he loves dried fish and wants you to get him more."

Hearing Xiphil’s voice, Rick returned to his senses, looking at Sheng Xie who had already returned to Ah Dai’s side, he muttered, "Wow, you scared me to death."

Feeling somewhat sorry, Ah Dai said, "I’m really sorry for the trouble."

Xiphil quickly replied, "No problem, no problem, I’ll order some people to bring over more dried fish."

Only after consuming thirty pounds of dried fish, was Sheng Xie finally satisfied and returned to the Dragon’s Blood to sleep. It was very friendly to Xiphil and Rick, the ones who provided it with dried fish, and even rubbed their heads with its own, which filled Xiphil and Rick with joy and a sense of loss when Sheng Xie left for the Dragon’s Blood.

Ah Dai could be said to have conquered the entire Tiger Army of Light with Sheng Xie’s appearance alone. Everyone was deeply in awe of this magician who could summon a dragon. Xiphil ordered a grand feast in honor of Ah Dai and his two friends. Ah Dai did not initially want to accept their invitation, but Yan Li said that after being framed by them for so long, it wasn’t right to leave without getting some reprieve. Less than two hours after their previous meal, they were treated to another sumptuous feast.
