Chapter 198: Chapter 44 Arrival of Xuan Ye_4

Xi Wen gave a faint smile, stepping forward to stand in front of Ah Dai. He said, "Your Excellency Bishop, we also understand the evil nature of the Sword of Hades. However, the Life Force from our sect happens to counteract it. I believe that Ah Dai is capable of being its guardian and would never frivolously kill. Otherwise, our Tian Gang Sword Sect wouldn’t let him off the hook lightly. I believe that our guarantee should be acceptable to you."

Given the reputation of the Tian Gang Sword Sect on the mainland and the current Sect Leader’s assurance, it certainly put Xuanye in a difficult position. He clearly knew that unless the four Red Bishops showed up together, it was impossible to confront the Tian Gang Sword Sect. After hesitating a moment, Xuanye said, "I trust your sect’s guarantee. However, whether Ah Dai’s current strength can protect the Sword of Hades is still questionable. Let’s do it this way. If he can withstand my Attack Magic for five seconds without falling, I will acknowledge his strength. What do you think?"

Xi Wen felt a jolt in his heart, knowing that Cardinal Xuanye in Red had already made a significant concession. He turned to look at Ah Dai, who had a blank look on his face, his feelings unreadable. Xi Wen was also inwardly apprehensive. He knew that Xuanye’s point was valid; guarding the Sword of Hades indeed required formidable strength. Although Ah Dai had reached the fifth level of Life Force’s True Qi, Xuanye was still a Red Bishop with a high status in the church. Xi Wen didn’t thoroughly understand Magic Attacks, nor did he know whether Ah Dai could withstand Xuanye’s magic.

At this point, Xuan Yue suddenly spoke up: "Ah Dai, you should give it a try. I believe you can do it."

Zhou Wen said, "Yes, Ah Dai, give it a shot. No matter how powerful his magic is, you can definitely break it with the Sword of Hades."

Xuanye’s face changed slightly. He thought, how could I forget about the Sword of Hades? If the Sword of Hades appears, would I be able to resist it? The legendary power of evilness made him somewhat apprehensive since the Sword of Hades had the reputation of a life-taking weapon.

Ah Dai shook his head and said, "No, I can’t use the Sword of Hades. Once it appears, someone must die. Uncle Sacristan, I’m willing to test your magic with my own strength. If my abilities are inadequate to protect the Sword of Hades, then you can take it away. However, when I feel that I can protect it, I will ask for it back."

Upon hearing that Ah Dai would not use the Sword of Hades, Xuanye visibly relaxed and his feelings towards Ah Dai slightly changed. He nodded slightly and said, "Okay, the space here is limited. Let’s move outside."

Xi Wen gave his disciples a look, gestured to Xuanye to lead the way. Without any pretense, Xuanye, pulling Xuan Yue by the hand, strode out of the main gate first.

Xi Wen patted Ah Dai on the shoulder, and said to Yan Shi and Yan Li: "Your skills are too weak, and you could easily get caught in the backlash. You better not go."

Yan Shi, looking at Ah Dai’s blank expression, said, "Teacher Xi Wen, you must protect Ah Dai!"

Xi Wen nodded and said, "You can count on me. Let’s go." With that, he, Ah Dai, and several other disciples marched out of the hall. Xuanye stood proudly outside, while Xuan Yue cried softly with her head bowed. She knew, irrespective of whether Ah Dai could withstand her father’s attack, she would have to go back to the church with him.

Xi Wen said, "Your Excellency Bishop, let’s head to the open space at the top of the mountain."

Xuanye nodded slightly and said, "Alright. Please lead the way."

Xi Wen, leading Ah Dai and several other disciples, walked away. Xuanye, however, did not notice that one person was already missing from Xi Wen’s group.

The group exited the Tian Gang Sword Sect’s compound, heading to a flat and wide space atop the mountain. Xuan Yue suddenly looked up at Xuanye and said, "Dad, stop restraining me. Your magic might hurt me."

Upon making his earlier suggestion, Xuanye had determined to give it everything he had. He was resolved not to let Ah Dai withstand him for five seconds. When he was about to use his full power, he found it hard to consider his daughter. He quickly withdrew the restraint on Xuan Yue and said, "You go farther away. Protect yourself with the Phoenix’s Blood. I will try my best to control the energy."

Xuan Yue obediently nodded her head, running to one side. As she passed by Ah Dai, their eyes met, their bodies simultaneously jolted, their faces revealing complicated emotions. Ah Dai felt hopeless when Xuanye called him a demon, while Xuan Yue was filled with reluctance due to their imminent separation. Xuan Yue bit her lip and whispered, "Protect yourself with the Dragon’s Blood. You must hang in there!" Xuan Yue’s agreement with her father earlier had been due to Xuanye’s ignorance about Ah Dai’s Dragon’s Blood.

After hearing Xuan Yue’s words, a glimmer of hope finally emerged in Ah Dai’s eyes. He nodded slightly. Then, a low voice suddenly rang in Ah Dai’s ear, "Kid, don’t be surprised or move. You can compete with that arrogant kid with confidence, and I’ve got everything under control. Go ahead without worry." Ah Dai was startled, recognizing the voice as that of the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang. Looking around, he didn’t see the Sword Saint anywhere.

"What are you looking at? Didn’t I tell you not to be surprised? I’m talking to you through a auditory transmission spell. Remember, when under a Magic Attack, protect yourself with Life Force, keep your heart calm, regardless of how the opponent attacks, maintain a steady will, and regard your body as the basis, as stable as mountains."

Xuanye, somewhat impatient, said, "Ah Dai, let’s get started. As long as you can take my attack, I’ll let you guard the Sword of Hades."

Ah Dai trembled, Xuanye’s seemingly penetrating gaze sent tremors through his body. The enormous mental pressure made it impossible for him to entertain a thought of resistance, so he slowly started walking forward with his head down.
