Chapter 168: Chapter 38: The Beauty of Maturity_4
Lan Yin walked up to Ah Dai, looking at this somewhat dazed tall teenager, who was standing there coldly, without uttering a single word.
The Chief of the Northern Tribes sighed, but then, he said loudly, "Fine, since this foreign warrior has chosen my daughter, I have no objections. Haha, I hereby declare..." He was interrupted by a voice, "Wait, Mr. Chieftain," it was Kundu who had interrupted. Upon discovering that Ah Dai had chosen his beloved Lan Yin, his face changed in shock. He quickly seized the opportunity to confront the situation. He walked with his head held high to the side of the Chieftain and spoke, "Mr. Chieftain, the one I wish to choose is your daughter as well."
Of course, the Chief of the Northern Tribes was well aware of Kundu’s affections for Lan Yin. He said, with a bitter smile, "But I only have one daughter. I can’t split her in half and marry her to both of you."
Ah Dai said indifferently, "That’s fine, let us have a contest. Whoever wins gets Miss Lan Yin."
The Chieftain was taken aback and asked, "A competition of what?"
Ah Dai looked at Kundu and said, "A wrestling match should suffice." As soon as these words came out, the tribe members raised an uproar. No one expected Ah Dai to make such a request, especially considering that Kundu had just been crowned wrestling champion.
Kundu’s eyes flashed with a hint of brutality. Today’s competition had consumed a considerable amount of his stamina. However, he had nearly recovered after resting all afternoon. He nodded and said, "Alright, let me see what formidable skills you foreigners possess." With that, he forcefully removed his outer garment revealing his muscular upper body. His eyes were flashing coldly as anger filled his entire body. The Chieftain moved his daughter to the side while the tribespeople started cheering for the two contenders.
Ah Dai said, "You’ve been competing all day, your energy must have been considerably depleted. I won’t take advantage of that. Here’s the deal, I won’t use my hands. If you can bring me down, you win."
Kundu exclaimed, "What? You won’t use your hands? Are you looking down on me?" Though his pride had been hurt, for his beloved woman, he did not argue much and lunged towards Ah Dai with roar.
Ah Dai did not dodge, letting Kundu get a grip on his shoulders and tried to trip Ah Dai, forcing him to the ground. Even though Kundu was strong, Ah Dai’s rooting skills were a notch above. Initially, Ah Dai remained firm against the onslaught of the waves, let alone Kundu’s strength.
Ah Dai was immovable, with loosely bent legs, hands behind him, he stayed put. No matter how hard Kundu struggled, he could not move Ah Dai. As Kundu attempted to put forth his energy once more, Ah Dai slightly shrugged his shoulder. A beam of white light flashed, and Kundu was thrown three meters away.
The surroundings fell silent. No one expected that a foreign teenager could throw the tribe’s warrior, Kundu, without using his hands.
Kundu struggled to his feet, rushed towards Ah Dai again, but this time, the moment his hands made contact with Ah Dai’s clothes, he was thrown back. After several attempts, Kundu could no longer muster the energy to stand. Ah Dai arrogantly yelled out, "Isn’t there a single warrior among the tribe who can defeat me? Come forth. If you can throw me, then the beautiful Lan Yin will be yours." His words incited anger among the tribes, and seven or eight of the young men ran out, challenging Ah Dai one after another. Ah Dai didn’t turn away any of them, with his hands still behind his back, he faced the attacks of challengers. No one could even grab hold of his clothes before they were thrown.
After the nineteenth challenger was defeated once again, no one dared to come forth. Ah Dai suddenly pointed towards Aguti who was in the sidelines and challenged him, "Aren’t you the one who came second in today’s wrestling competition? Do you dare to try? If you can defeat me, Lan Yin will be yours."
The daze in Aguti’s eyes slowly disappeared with Ah Dai’s challenge, replaced with fury. He stood up furiously and bellowed, "Foreigner, don’t think we don’t have anyone to challenge you. You can’t trample on the dignity of our tribe! Fine, I, Aguti, shall challenge you." With that, he leaped towards Ah Dai at a swift pace. The surroundings were instantly filled with a sense of excitement because of Aguti’s courageous challenge. Everyone was cheering him on, the atmosphere was at its peak.
Ah Dai’s eyes were filled with a hint of gratification, his hands were still behind his back, "Alright, then come at me. If you can bring me down, you win."
Aguti took a deep breath, his feet undergoing firm placement and both his hands seized Ah Dai’s shoulders. He faked a move with his right foot and violently tripped over Ah Dai’s right foot. There was a flash of panic in Ah Dai’s eyes. His right leg loosened slightly, flinching his body. Upon seeing this, Aguti rejoiced grabbing Ah Dai’s shoulder trying to throw him off. Ah Dai stumbled a bit but didn’t fall over. Yet, Ah Dai moving from his spot elicited cheers from the crowd as it was the first time, he had been moved from his stance.
Aguti, seeing an advantage, pounced up swiftly, entangled with Ah Dai. His moves were flexible, launching a series of unexpected attacks. After a while, Aguti who was relentless in his effort, found an opportunity, and Ah Dai was thrown off. When Ah Dai’s back hit the ground, all of the tribe members began to cheer; they started chanting Aguti’s name as if he became the hero of their tribe.
