Chapter 1582: Chapter 182: Investigating Death_2

Xuan Yue paused, and said, "Not going back? Are you planning to stay here and observe the movements of the Death Mountain Range? Since the Resentful Spirit said we can’t deal with the high-level Undead Creatures inside, it’s better to go back and get reinforcements."

Ah Dai said seriously, "Although the Resentful Spirit’s words are credible, I think it doesn’t truly understand our strength. The Church of the Dark Saint’s greatest reliance right now is those Undead Creatures from the Twelve Tribulations of Undead. If we just go back like this, even if we call in a large army, the losses might be huge. I want to enter the Death Mountain Range once more to gather more information on the Undead Creatures, and ideally, encounter some high-level Undead Creatures, so we can understand their habits and abilities. That way, when we come back next time, we’ll be much more confident. We’ve been away from the church for nearly two months now, and there’s still a month before the originally agreed deadline. Going in once more won’t affect our return date."

Xuan Yue said worriedly, "But, is it really okay to go in one more time? You know how dangerous the Death Mountain Range is. What if we encounter powerful Undead that we can’t deal with?"

Ah Dai’s eyes flickered with a cold glint, and he said, "If you don’t enter the tiger’s lair, you can’t get the tiger cubs. To reduce human casualties, I must go this time. How about this, all of you stay in the Elf Forest and wait for me. I’ll take Sheng Xie and Little Bone, and go alone. It’ll be easier for me to escape, and there shouldn’t be much danger."

"No." Xuan Yue resolutely rejected Ah Dai’s proposal. She stared at him with determination, "You can go, but you have to at least take me. Without my Space Teleportation Magic, how can your safety be assured? I must go." Her words were unusually firm, leaving no room for Ah Dai to refuse.

Ah Dai looked to everyone for help, Kino laughed and said, "Boss, don’t look at us. I’m definitely going too. How could I let you take all the credit for being a human hero alone, haha. Vila, aren’t you going too!" Olivia surprisingly didn’t quarrel with Kino, nodded firmly, and said, "I must go too; this is a great challenge for me! Boss, Kino and I both found that after our previous two expeditions into the Death Mountain Range, our understanding of magic has become much easier than usual, and our cultivation has slightly improved in a short time. Just take us along, and it’s better to have a companion. If something goes wrong, we can use Xuan Yue’s magic to retreat with no problem."

Looking at everyone’s determined eyes, Ah Dai nodded helplessly, saying, "Alright then, but this time is different from before. With Little Bone’s help, we should be able to enter past the sixth gate. We don’t know how powerful the Undead Creatures behind it are, so you must follow my directions and be prepared for retreat at all times."

To be safe, Ah Dai rested in the Elf Forest for three more days. Only when he and everyone adjusted their bodies to the best state did they prepare for the third expedition to the Death Mountain Range.

The Yan Shi brothers, Zhuo Yun, and Yue Ji escorted them to the outskirts of the Tian Yuan Clan’s Great Forest.

"Ah Dai, be careful and come back soon. Anyway, our mission is already complete, don’t push yourself too hard. When you return, we’ll head back to the church together," Yan Shi said to Ah Dai.

Ah Dai smiled slightly and said, "Brother, rest assured. I know my limits, even if I don’t care about my life, I will care about Yue Yue, Kino, and Vila!"

Yue Ji, uncharacteristically gentle today, approached Kino and softly said, "Come back alive; you still have to protect me for life!"

Ignoring the surprised gazes of the others, Kino suddenly enveloped Yue Ji in his arms and planted a heavy kiss on her fragrant lips, laughing, "Don’t worry, my dear wife, how could I bear to leave you?"

Olivia complained, "Alright, stop being mushy; let’s get going."

After heartfelt goodbyes, Ah Dai and the group of four set out on their journey into the Death Mountain Range. They still used the last time’s method and successfully crossed the first three gates with Sheng Xie’s help. When they reached the domain of the Polar Undead Spiders, from a distance, Ah Dai already saw the large blue figures of the Cold Shade Undead Spiders.

Xuan Yue smiled and said, "These annoying spiders again, let me handle it."

Ah Dai nodded and said, "Don’t use too much magic; just scare them away. We must conserve our strength now."

The Cold Shade Undead Spiders had already noticed them, and like a large blue net in the sky, they swiftly rushed toward the group.

Ah Dai urged Sheng Xie to steady his body, and signaled to Xuan Yue. Xuan Yue softly chanted, "Awaken, phoenix, with Phoenix’s Blood." As the spell was chanted, red light burst from Xuan Yue’s chest, scorching air flowed around her delicate body, and the clear cry of the phoenix rang through the sky. A red light emerged from her chest and swirled around her body instantly. The Fire Phoenix appeared again; flames full of Sacred Aura hovered above Sheng Xie, and the phoenix’s cry echoed clearly through the sky.

The originally advancing Cold Shade Undead Spiders stopped abruptly after Xuan Yue summoned the Fire Phoenix. They looked fearfully at the Phoenix’s Energy filled with Sacred Aura in front of them, no longer daring to rush forward.
