Chapter 151: Chapter 35 - The Bishop Comes Pursuing_2

Xuan Yue giggled and said, "Go ahead and pick. Like Ah Dai said, we are companions and will always be friends even when we part ways. Consider the crystal as a token of our friendship."

Moon Scar sighed, "In that way, we’ll take two pieces only. One will be returned to the Mercenary Guild as part of the completion of the task, and the other will serve as a memento. Ah Dai, Miss Xuan Yue, no need to insist. We already feel rather embarrassed as it is." Having said so, she casually picked up two Top-Grade Magic Crystals from Ah Dai’s palm.

Ah Dai, in a rush, said, "Brother Moon Scar, why..."

Moon Scar replied with a forced smile, "You’re on a mission to save the Elf Princess which undoubtedly carries great risks. Maybe you’ll find some use for these magic crystals. Let’s leave it at that. I feel a bit tired and would like to rest. You should get some rest as well." After uttering these words, she walked over to a corner of the treehouse, sat cross-legged, and started meditating. Yue Ji and her companions went to sit next to her and fell silent.

Ah Dai and Xuan Yue looked at each other, with Ah Dai asking, "What should we do?"

Xuan Yue spread out her tiny hands, sounding helpless as she said, "Just let things take their course. We’ll let Brother Yan Shi and the others choose as well tomorrow. Ah Dai, which piece do you want?"

Upon hearing Xuan Yue’s invitation to choose a magic crystal, Ah Dai suddenly thought of the Flame Wizard Goris. Apparently, he wouldn’t be able to visit Goris as soon as he’d hoped because he had agreed to the Elf Queen’s request for rescuing her daughter and people. A strong sense of longing filled his heart, and he couldn’t help but lack focus.

Observing Ah Dai’s lost look, Xuan Yue burst into laughter, "Is choosing a magic crystal that difficult? I want this white one. It embodies the energy of light magic. My mother will be very pleased when I give it to her."

Ah Dai finally snapped out of it. "Honestly, I am not sure which one to pick. I don’t know what element of magic crystals Goris would like."

Xuan Yue thought for a moment, "If your mentor, Goris, is an alchemist, he should know magic. Which type of magic does he practice?"

Ah Dai replied, "Goris uses black flames. It’s very powerful. Once, I saw him obliterate a table by setting it on fire, leaving no ash behind." He chuckled, remembering Uncle Li’s trembling reaction to Goris’s magic.

Xuan Yue playfully pushed him, "Why are you giggling? Black flames? They might be a blend of fire and dark magic systems. Your teacher who can use fusion magic is indeed very remarkable. You should give him this black Top-Grade Magic Crystal. Of all the ones here, it is of the highest quality. If he uses it to make a magical artifact, it may significantly improve his magical level." She then waved the black magic crystal before Ah Dai’s eyes.

Ah Dai’s face lit up, "Thank you, Yue Yue. I hope Goris will be happy when he sees it."

Xuan Yue teased, "If he’s not thrilled to receive such a precious gift, then something must be wrong with him!"

Ah Dai frowned, "Yue Yue, don’t speak ill of my teacher."

Xuan Yue stuck out her tongue and grumbled, "So your teacher matters more than me? I would definitely like to meet him someday. I wonder if he has three heads and six arms, that can make you so damn loyal."

Ah Dai awkwardly responded, "Well, there’s no comparison. My teacher is my elder, of course, I will respect him. He has been very good to me."

Xuan Yue pointed to her cute nose, "What about me? Have I not been good to you?"

Ah Dai blushed, muttering, "You’ve been good to me too. Yue Yue, I...I’m tired. Shouldn’t we rest for a while?"

Huffing, Xuan Yue questioned, "So I’m good to you, just not as good as your teacher is, eh? Fine, I won’t pressure you anymore. Tell me, what did the Aunt Elf give to you when she pulled you aside earlier?"

Like an honest child, Ah Dai confessed, "Auntie gave me a scroll that can summon elves. It can be used once and will last for two hours. We’re supposed to use it when we find her tribespeople. Besides, she also gave me a Dragon Egg and made me form a pact with it. She said once it hatches, I should befriend the dragon."

Xuan Yue gasped in surprise, crying out, "What?! A Dragon Egg... She actually entrusted a Dragon Egg to you?" Her outcry was quite loud, but none of the others seemed to notice as they were deep in meditation.

Ah Dai covered Xuan Yue’s mouth swiftly, "Be quiet. We don’t want to interrupt everyone’s focus, or it could be dangerous. The egg is in my container of Dragon’s Blood right now. I’m not sure when it will hatch."

Suddenly, Xuan Yue burst into laughter. Her laughter was melodious like a silver bell. Ah Dai felt awkward and unsure. He asked, "Why are you laughing?"

Xuan Yue stifled her laughter, her pretty face glowing with a rosy colour, "You’re so silly. Aunt Elf instructed you to hatch an egg, so does that make you a mother dragon? It’s hilarious, isn’t it?" She resumed her hearty laughter right after speaking.

Ah Dai scratched his head and murmured, "Is it really that funny? I don’t think so." He walked to a corner of the treehouse and sat down. Xuan Yue moved closer to him and said, "Silly Ah Dai, are you mad at me? I didn’t mean to offend you. But it’s undeniably funny."

AhDai shook his head, "I’m not petty. Let’s practice for a while too, as I’m still feeling quite exhausted."
