Chapter 1413: Chapter 145 Western Swordsman_4
"Who are you kidding, both your sons went out to throw stones, how come no one saw you? Tell me the truth, where did you really go?"
Seeing Harry’s appearance, Ah Dai and Mie Feng couldn’t help but laugh. The Western Swordsman being held by the ear by a farmer’s wife with no martial arts expertise, yet he dared not fight back—it’s something no one would believe if you told them. Mie Feng stepped forward and said, "Auntie, please don’t be too hard on Uncle Harry. He was just worried about us, so he took us to hide."
Harry quickly said, "Yes, yes, I took them to hide. My ears, my poor ears! Can you let go a bit, they’re almost being pulled off."
Harry’s wife let go, huffed, and said, "Do you know how worried I was about not finding you? I thought you were trapped by those scumbags from the Empire of Sunset City. Go to sleep now. Ah, we really owe it to those two who could fly today, otherwise our village would have probably been ruined, and who knows what would happen in the future? It seems our peaceful lives will be disrupted!"
Harry’s eyes showed a hint of warmth as he held his wife’s shoulders and chuckled, "Old woman, I know you care about me, this won’t happen again. Didn’t the man in green say he is our guardian deity? Since he is a guardian deity, he will definitely protect our village. You don’t have to worry. Let’s go to sleep." After speaking, he gave Ah Dai and Mie Feng a smile-filled look and went back into his room with his wife. Watching their departing figures, Mie Feng murmured, "His choice is right, only an ordinary life is the happiest."
The next morning, after breakfast, Ah Dai and Mie Feng bid farewell to Harry’s family, preparing to head towards the Empire of Sunset City. Harry didn’t ask what they intended to do, but saw them to the end of the village.
"Uncle, you should head back, we will definitely meet again," Ah Dai said to Harry, who was dressed like a farmer.
Harry nodded and said, "Kid, make sure you come for the fourth Sword Saint contest! Goshawk and Yun Ying might be envious seeing Di Si got such an outstanding disciple! Alright, you better get going. If one day you’re tired of wandering the continent, come settle down here, decades as neighbors wouldn’t be too bad."
Ah Dai wanted to tell Harry about the millennium calamities of the mainland, but recalling Harry’s content smile, he found himself unable to speak.
After parting with Harry, Ah Dai and Mie Feng set off to the Empire of Sunset City with complex emotions. They entered the Dark Province of the Empire of Sunset City along the Light and Dark River.
The Empire of Sunset City was indeed prosperous; not far along, they spotted a city. This was a city Ah Dai had never visited before.
Mie Feng, having grown up in the Empire of Sunset City, didn’t need a map to know where they were. He blandly told Ah Dai, "This is Soul City of the Dark Province. It’s not very large but it’s a relatively wealthy city in the Dark Province. If I remember correctly, there is an outpost of the Assassin’s Guild here, though not as big as a branch, there should still be a dozen ordinary assassins. Do you want to go?"
At the mention of the Assassin’s Guild, a chill flashed in Ah Dai’s eyes, he said hatefully, "Of course we’re going. Every assassin deserves to die. Take me there."
Mie Feng nodded and led the way towards Soul City. Soul City was only a tenth the size of Dark City, and like other cities Ah Dai had visited in the Empire of Sunset City, one could immediately sense the decadent air upon entering. The people on the streets all looked listless. Occasionally, there were a few spirited ones, surely just having won money from gambling. But, how long could their excitement last?
After entering Soul City, Mie Feng didn’t stop, leading Ah Dai straight towards the city center. After crossing several streets, Mie Feng pointed to a pawnshop not far ahead, "That’s the outpost of the Assassin’s Guild here. There are about a dozen assassins inside, the strongest won’t surpass a Stealth Killer level. With your skills, you can handle them in minutes."
Ah Dai nodded, images of Owen’s death flooding his mind, he said hatefully, "Assassin’s Guild, the one who claims your lives is here." He strode towards the pawnshop. Mie Feng’s voice echoed in his ear, "Remember, don’t leave a single survivor, I don’t want them to know it was someone from the Guild that helped you find this place."
Ah Dai did not reply but walked determinedly. Facing the people from the Assassin’s Guild, how could he possibly hold back?
The façade of the pawnshop was small, with a somewhat tattered cloth hanging over the main entrance, with a large white character for ’pawn’ distinctly visible. Ah Dai lifted the curtain and entered, the shop looked like any ordinary pawnshop, just a bit smaller. Behind the tall counter, two shop assistants were chatting. Upon seeing Ah Dai enter, one of them said, "Sir, what would you like to pawn? Our prices are absolutely fair, you can redeem your item within a month."
Ah Dai looked coldly at the assistant speaking, his keen senses detecting that the assistant had a presence of energy. "I’m not here to pawn anything. I am here to kill."
The assistant was startled, a trace of coldness flashing in his eyes, but he said, "Sir, you must be mistaken. This is a pawnshop, and besides, killing people is illegal."
