Chapter 1367: Chapter 135: Guided by Blood_5
Xuan Yue clung close within Ah Dai’s arms, feeling remarkably comfortable in the warm and secure embrace. She whispered softly, "I wish it could always be like this! Ah Dai, Ah Dai." After all, she hadn’t had a proper rest for two days and one night, and now, under such warm and comfy conditions, she couldn’t hold back her fatigue any longer and gradually drifted into dreamland.
Ah Dai gazed at the sleeping face of the lovely girl in his arms, his heart stirring with emotion. Despite the strange feelings continuously filling his heart, he gently kissed Xuan Yue’s forehead and, contented, fell into a deep sleep.
On the third day after Ah Dai and Xuan Yue arrived at the tribe, Yue Ji, Kino, and Olivia finally caught up.
As they looked out over the vast tribe, Olivia and Kino were somewhat stunned; accustomed to city life, this was their first sight of a tribe. Yue Ji let out a sigh and said, "We’ve finally caught up. I wonder how Ah Dai and others are doing?"
Kino said, "How could Ah Dai and Xuan Re, our two leaders, be in trouble? Their skills are so strong, they can handle anything unless they run into some freak like the one in the Yajin Tribe last time. This tribe is really huge! How many people are there? The houses just seem to go on forever. Miss Yue Ji, have you been here before? Are the people of the Pu Yan Tribe easy to get along with?"
Yue Ji replied with a wry smile, "Last time when we came here, we were brought in as suspected murderers. What do you think? Let’s go. I think Ah Dai must have explained already, we should be able to see them soon." After saying that, she led Olivia and Kino down the slope under their feet, getting closer to the tribe. Suddenly, a group of about twenty Pu Yan Tribe soldiers appeared and blocked their way. The leader, a middle-aged general, held out his Long Spear in a cautionary manner, and said, "Who are you? What are you doing in the Pu Yan Tribe? We don’t welcome outsiders here, please leave immediately."
Remembering her first meeting with Yan Shi, Yue Ji looked at him and smiled, saying, "I haven’t been to the Pu Yan Tribe for several years, and yet the way you speak hasn’t changed at all! Still so xenophobic."
The general was taken aback and asked, "You have been here before?"
"Of course, I came here, around four years ago perhaps; we were with a large group. My name is Yue Ji, didn’t the authorities tell you we were coming?" replied Yue Ji.
The general frowned and said, "No one ever told us, don’t give me that nonsense and leave our Pu Yan territory immediately, or I will not be polite." Ah Dai and Xuan Yue got caught up busy handling matters concerning the Prophet Pu Lin, and later when Ah Dai fainted from excessive blood loss, Xuan Yue was preoccupied with looking after him, hence no one remembered to mention Yue Ji and the others to Yan Shi and his peers.
Seeing the general’s arrogant demeanor, Yue Ji felt her anger rise. Normally, she would have erupted in anger long ago, but knowing they shouldn’t conflict with the Pu Yan Tribe, she forcefully suppressed her anger and said, "Are Yan Shi and Yan Li here? We’ve come to find them. Also, a couple of days ago, two young people about our age should have arrived. We’re together. Didn’t they tell you we were coming?"
Showcasing a puzzled expression, the general lifted his Long Spear and asked, "Are you really with those two honored guests?"
Yue Ji replied irritably, "Do I have to lie to you? What’s so great about your Pu Yan Tribe that I would bother coming over if not for business? Hurry up and take us to them, once you see us together, you’ll know if we’re impostors or not."
The general hesitated for a moment, but seeing Yue Ji’s earnest expression, his demeanor suddenly became much more respectful, and he stepped aside, saying politely, "Since you are friends of our honored guests, please come in. I truly apologize for the earlier rudeness."
As they passed the general, Yue Ji was puzzled and asked, "When did those two friends of mine arrive here? What exactly is going on with your Pu Yan Tribe? Why did you have to urgently call Ah Dai over?"
Upon hearing Yue Ji mention Ah Dai’s name, the general’s doubts vanished, and a look of reverence appeared in his eyes as he said, "He is a great benefactor to our Pu Yan Tribe! Our most revered Prophet Pu Lin fell seriously ill a few days ago, on the brink of death. Just as he was fading away, Lord Ah Dai rushed over. I heard from the tribe members that to save the Prophet, Ah Dai actually transfused his own blood to replenish the Prophet’s Life energy. This act saved the Prophet’s life. Although the Prophet hasn’t woken up yet, he is no longer in danger of dying. For our Pu Yan Tribe, this is an immense grace indeed!"
