Chapter 135: Chapter 32 The first appearance of Evil Light_1
Finally, under the constant urging of Ah Dai, the man in black couldn’t endure any longer. His body slid forward like a phantom, charging towards Ah Dai. With a loud shout, Ah Dai unleashed a full-power Splitting Chop straight towards his opponent. The surrounding airflow seemed sucked away by his blow, binding the man in black’s movements, forcing him to face the attack head-on. Ah Dai felt for some reason, compared to before, his Splitting Chop seemed to have increased greatly in power. In fact, after entering the fifth Realm of the Cycle of Life technique, his True Qi gradually became powerful, thus unknowingly improving his martial arts.
The man in black did not panic; his short blade sparkled cold light. With a slight tilt of his body, he swung both blades against the spine of Ah Dai’s Tian Gang Sword. There was a metallic clang and Ah Dai’s full-force attack was instantly diverted to one side, two streams of sharp Qi followed up the sword, directly towards Ah Dai’s hands that were gripping the sword. Ah Dai only now understood why Miao Fei’s Soft Sword had slipped away from his hand before. He quickly drove the liquid life essence from within his body to his hands. Under the constant rotation of True Qi, he barely managed to neutralize the two needle-like streams of Qi, but his hands were already somewhat numb.
Though the man in black had successfully sent Ah Dai’s Heavy Sword aside, the weight of the Tian Gang Sword combined with the tremendous power produced by Ah Dai’s True Qi forced him to retreat a step back. With no hesitation, the man in black advanced as he retreated, two cold glimmers passed, and his short blades aimed underneath Ah Dai’s throat and towards his chest, attacking as swift as lightning.
At this critical moment, Ah Dai’s mind was extremely clear. He forced his body to move aside, exerted strength in both hands, and suddenly hoisted up the Tian Gang Sword embedded in the ground. He faced the incoming short blades head-on. The man in black gave a cold humph and disappeared from his sight without clashing with Ah Dai. As Ah Dai’s action prematurely ended, two gusts of sharp wind suddenly struck from behind. He didn’t have time to defend and could only allow his body to fall forward with the momentum. Just before his body made contact with the ground, he forcefully hit the ground with his left palm, borrowed some strength, and leaped more than five meters away, rolling onto the ground. In spite of his quick response, a burning hot pain spread from his back. The man in black’s short blades had carved two long gashes on his back. The sharp Qi ravaged repeatedly inside him, making Ah Dai convulse as he lay on the ground, desperately resisting the Qi intrusion with his own Qi.
Ah Dai barely had time to catch his breath when he felt an incoming gust. He knew he wouldn’t be able to dodge the man’s attacks again, and the shadow of death filled his body. Everyone else saw the man’s short blades aimed at Ah Dai’s back, and they cried out in astonishment, but due to the man’s quick speed, none were able to interfere.
All of a sudden, Ah Dai felt warmth in his left hand. A warm current spread throughout his body in an instant. With this warmth assisting him, his True Qi suddenly erupted and quickly expelled the sharp Qi from his body. To the observers, it appeared as if Ah Dai’s body suddenly emitted a large amount of white light. The man in black initially wanted to trap Ah Dai using his short blades to force him to admit defeat. But when he witnessed such a scene, he instantly chopped down with his blades.
As the short blades came in contact with the white light coming from Ah Dai, it felt like the blades hitting leather. The white light was tough and resilient. Shocked by the sudden increase in the luminosity, the man in black was sent flying backward.
Ah Dai was also faring badly. Although he didn’t understand where the warm current came from, the white light produced had only managed to block off most of the attacks from the man. His throat filled with a sweet flavour, and he vomited a mouthful of fresh blood.
Yan Shi and Yan Li rushed forward to help Ah Dai up. The man in black didn’t give chase and just stood there calmly, breathing lightly.
Using the Tian Gang Sword, Ah Dai managed to prop himself up, trying to stabilize the tumultuous flow of Qi within his body. He gave a weak smile and said, "Don’t worry, older brothers, I’m alright."
Yan Shi heaved a sigh and said, "Let it be, brother. We have tried our best, but the martial arts of these men in black is too strong, beyond what we can handle."
A look of melancholy came over Yan Li’s face as he sighed, "Even if we attacked together, we might not stand a chance. Truly, there’s always a higher mountain... It seems the Elves will be unfortunate."
Ah Dai suddenly shouted, "No, I won’t let them take away the elves!" He glared at the man in black and said, "I haven’t lost yet. Let’s continue. Older brothers, you can retreat."
Looking at the firm resolve in Ah Dai’s eyes, Yan Shi and Yan Li bowed their heads, feeling somewhat guilty. They had already contemplated the thought of surrendering. Yan Li suddenly looked up and declared, "Let’s fight then! If we attack together, perhaps there might be a thread of hope?"
Ah Dai shook his head, "No. There are many of them. It’s better to continue according to the rules of the challenge. We never know, I might not lose. Elder brother, you both need to step back." After that, Ah Dai staggered towards the man in black, taking step by step.
The man in black looked coldly at Ah Dai. Ah Dai halted three meters in front of him and, using his strength, planted the Tian Gang Sword into the ground. The man in black spoke in a cold voice, "You are not my opponent. Send someone else instead."
Ah Dai shook his head and retorted, "Not necessarily." He reached into his collar to grab the Dragon’s Blood, clutching it in his palm. He chanted softly in accordance with the spell Xuan Yue had taught him, "Oh great King of the Dragon Clan! Lend me your endless Divine Power and form an invincible shield to protect the dignity of the Dragon." As soon as he finished his sentence, he turned around, back facing the man in black, and stretched out his hands toward Yan Shi and the others. The white light around his body suddenly surged and the man in black, surprised and puzzled, retreated a few steps back. He was bewildered by the young man in front of him, who continued to surprise him with his numerous peculiarities.
