Chapter 1341: Chapter 130: Breakthrough_4

Yue Ji nodded and said, "I know. Hmph, sooner or later, our Moon Scar Mercenary Corps will kick them all out of Red Hurricane City and become the new Superior Mercenary Group." After speaking, she strode towards the Mercenary Guild headquarters. Just as she approached the entrance, a Red Charming Clan mercenary stopped her and said, "Please show your Mercenary Card, mercenaries below rank one are not allowed to enter the headquarters arbitrarily."

Yue Ji took out her Golden Card and flashed it in front of the mercenary before walking in without looking back. The gatekeeping mercenary’s eyes revealed a hint of astonishment; he would never have expected such a young girl to actually hold the identity of a Special Class Mercenary. At this moment, Ah Dai and the others had also walked over. Ah Dai and Xuan Yue took out their Mercenary Cards proactively. After seeing Ah Dai’s card, the gatekeeper said respectfully, "Please enter, Special Class Mercenaries can go directly to the second floor to receive assignments. This friend, your Mercenary Card is of a rank three mercenary. Although you are a Magician, you cannot enter the Guild Headquarters—please go to the branch located to the north instead." While speaking, he handed Xuan Yue’s card back.

Ah Dai hurriedly explained for Xuan Yue, "Actually, my brother here is also a Special Class Mercenary. It’s just that his Mercenary Card has not been updated at the Guild since completing the last task, and that’s the reason we’re here—to exchange the card." The gatekeeper was taken aback, thinking to himself: What a day full of oddities! Normally, it’s rare to see even one Special Class Mercenary in a day, and yet today, three have come along at once. It should be noted that even within the Red Charming Mercenary Group, there are only a handful of Special Class Mercenaries. He nodded slightly to Ah Dai and said, "Sorry, we can only identify identities through Mercenary Cards. If your friend is indeed a Special Class Mercenary, please first go to the branch to complete the rank upgrade procedure and exchange for the appropriate Magic Card before we can let him into the headquarters. These are the headquarters’ rules. We are just gatekeepers and cannot make decisions."

Xuan Yue frowned and said, "Is there no room for compromise at all? What difference does it make where the upgrade is done? If it really bothers you that much, you can follow us in and leave after confirming my Mercenary Level."

The gatekeeper shook his head and said, "Sorry, as I said, we are only gatekeepers and cannot make decisions. Please leave. The Guild has its regulations, and we cannot break them for just one person."

Xuan Yue felt a slight annoyance and said coolly, "What if I insist on going in?"

The gatekeeper showed no signs of backing down and replied calmly, "Then you would have to step over my dead body to enter." Hearing this, both Xuan Yue and Ah Dai were taken aback. They did not expect that even a common mercenary of the Red Charming Clan would have such integrity. It seems that the Red Charming Mercenary Group’s continuous reputation as the foremost Mercenary Corps was indeed no lucky affair!

Anxious to follow Yue Ji, Kino took out his Special Permit Token and said, "I have this, I should be able to enter, right?" The gatekeeper glanced at the token in his hand and nodded, "This is acceptable. Sir, please enter." The Special Permit Token was originally issued by the Mercenary Guild to allow some large Mercenary Corps to bring their Junior Mercenaries to the Guild for a visit. The previous store owner had a familial relation with a captain of a rank one Mercenary Corps and obtained some of these Special Permit Tokens to resell.

Kino looked somewhat sheepishly at Ah Dai and said, "Boss, Miss Yue Ji going in alone might not be safe, I’ll go ahead and wait for you inside." Without waiting for Ah Dai’s response, he quickly entered the Mercenary Guild. Olivia chuckled at his hasty departure, murmuring, "Love really blinds a person! This guy is really addicted to his unrequited love."

Ah Dai glared at Olivia and said, "Stop talking nonsense, if Kino hears you, he might fight you again. You have a token too, go ahead in. I’m worried about both of them, keep an eye on them and make sure they don’t get into trouble." Olivia nodded and, after showing her token to the gatekeeper, she turned and entered the Mercenary Guild.

Xuan Yue said, "Big brother, what do we do now? Do we really have to go to that branch? It’s such a hassle." Being blocked outside made Xuan Yue very dissatisfied.

Ah Dai furrowed his brows and said, "They’re just doing their duty faithfully. This is difficult. If push comes to shove, we might have to take a trip to the branch, or go buy another Special Permit Token."

Xuan Yue, with her stubborn temper coming to the fore, approached the four gatekeepers and spoke angrily, "I refuse to go to the branch first – anyone who dares to stop me should not expect any courtesy." A faint golden glow emanated from him as Xuan Yue revealed a powerful aura. Ah Dai was taken aback and swiftly moved forward, grabbing Xuan Yue’s shoulder, "Brother, don’t be rash."

All four gatekeepers drew their Long Knives, glaring at both Ah Dai and Xuan Yue. Although there was fear in their eyes, not a single one of them retreated, and a conflict seemed imminent. Passing mercenaries stopped to watch, surprise evident in their eyes – no one had ever dared to cause trouble at the doors of the Mercenary Guild. As the standoff continued, a clear voice rang out, "What’s going on, why is everyone gathered here?"

The surrounding mercenaries looked back, and someone said, "The vice-captain has arrived, please take a look. Someone is daring to cause trouble at the Guild entrance!" The crowd parted to clear a pathway.
