Chapter 1305: Chapter 123 Overlord Mercenary Group

Xuan Yue regained consciousness from her meditation state. Last night, she entered meditation fraught with emotions and struggled to adjust her mindset, resulting in minimal progress throughout the night. However, she managed to bring her spiritual power to an optimal state.

Actually, after saying those words last night, she felt a bit of regret. She thought to herself: Ah Dai is simple-minded and straightforward. Were my words too much for him? Could it be that he can’t handle the pressure from me and becomes even more dispirited? If that is the case...

She opened her eyes impatiently and turned her gaze towards Ah Dai beside her. The moment her gaze met his body, Xuan Yue shuddered, her eyes filled with disbelief.

Ah Dai sat quietly on the adjacent bed. His dark, shoulder-length hair hung silently, and his modest face remained undisturbed. Wrapped in the Red Magician Robe, his muscular body emitted no aura or energy fluctuations, as if he were dead, eerily quiet. Yet, Xuan Yue sensed something previously not present in Ah Dai. Though devoid of energy fluctuations, sitting there, he resembled a huge, immovable mountain. What... what happened to him? Concern filled Xuan Yue’s heart. She wanted to awaken this unrecognizable Ah Dai, but she lacked the courage.

At that moment, light footsteps approached, "Ah Dai, Xuan Yue, it’s getting late, we need to start preparing to leave. Are you up yet?"

Xuan Yue blinked, recognizing Yue Ji’s voice from the sound. She stood up from the bed, straightened her Light Magic Robe, took one deep look at the still meditating Ah Dai, then proceeded to open the door.

Yue Ji glared at Xuan Yue and said, "Why are you still not up? Don’t you know how important today is? Is Ah Dai still asleep?"

Xuan Yue nodded and replied softly, "Sister Yue Ji, please lower your voice. Ah Dai is still in a meditative state and cannot be disturbed. Are we leaving now?"

Yue Ji frowned and said, "Yes! As the protectors of Varo City, we should head outside the city and wait for our challengers to arrive, thus gaining the upper hand. Ah Dai is still cultivating! But we are supposed to leave now, what should we do?" She knew that cultivating with True Qi should not be disturbed, but this time was different — it concerned the future of the entire Moon Scar Mercenary Corps, and Ah Dai and Xuan Yue were their hope. Reluctantly admitting it, Yue Ji felt a fearful resolve to win building inside her.

Xuan Yue thought for a moment and said, "Let me try to wake him from his cultivation state." As she turned to go back to the room, a cold voice suddenly said, "No need, I’m already up." Xuan Yue was startled; she hadn’t felt any change in the room, but the voice was unmistakably Ah Dai’s! Turning around in astonishment, she saw Ah Dai standing five steps behind her, his expression unchanged, black hair neatly draped over his shoulders like a statue. Looking at Ah Dai’s dull eyes, Xuan Yue felt a wave of concern and involuntarily asked, "Brother, are you alright?"

Ah Dai shook his head slightly and said, "I’m fine, Sister Yue Ji, let’s go, we’re preparing to leave. Also, could you help me find a plain black robe without any decorations? I think this Fire System Magician Robe isn’t suitable for me."

Yue Ji, looking at Ah Dai’s undisturbed face, suddenly felt a chilling sensation. The young man in front of her seemed different from the Ah Dai she used to know. She nodded and said, "Alright, wait here, I’ll be right back." She then turned and left.

Ah Dai’s eyelids were cast down, his lanky hands placed beside his thighs, still as a statue with no sign of life. Xuan Yue stepped in front of him, looking up at her beloved who was taller than her by half a head, feeling a slight tremor in her heart, "Brother, what’s wrong with you? Yesterday, last night, I..."

Ah Dai lifted his hand to cover Xuan Yue’s lips; his movement was elegantly natural. Xuan Yue trembled, distinctly feeling the icy coldness in Ah Dai’s palm, like solid ice.

"Brother, no need to speak. I’ve thought it through, don’t worry, I won’t disappoint you today."

Ah Dai’s voice was as cold as the temperature of his palm, devoid of emotion. His restrained presence almost suffocated Xuan Yue, and in that moment, she clearly realized that Ah Dai’s cultivation was far beyond her own, but she couldn’t discern his exact realm. Ah Dai’s power had evidently changed, perhaps displaying the imposing energy she mentioned yesterday. Yet, was this truly what she had hoped for?

Ah Dai’s hand lowered, he continued to stand quietly, making no sound, while Xuan Yue silently watched him, feeling the coldness emanating from his body. The two stood face to face in calm silence. The room’s atmosphere turned eerily peculiar.
