Chapter 1265: Chapter 114 Larthas’s Awakening_4

Gorisong looked at the enlightened Larthas, feeling a surge of emotion within. Since knowing Larthas many years ago, this was the first time he sensed an absence of desire from him. Was this still the same person who was once the foremost Attack Mage on the continent? He asked with some concern, "State Preceptor, are you alright?"

Larthas smiled faintly, saying, "I am fine, better than I have ever been before. I have not given up on my aspirations; rather, I will have more time to pursue my goals. One day, I will fulfill my wishes like Goris, cultivating the Flame Dragon to its highest Realm." He turned to Ah Dai, saying, "By the way, Ah Dai, was that dragon really summoned by you?"

Ah Dai was taken aback, not knowing how to respond. Sheng Xie was his biggest secret, and although the Larthas before him seemed like a kind elder, he didn’t want to deceive him, yet he equally didn’t want to disclose about Sheng Xie, inadvertently seeking help by looking towards Xuan Yue. Before Xuan Yue could intercede, Larthas said, "No need to be troubled, if it’s your secret, keep it within your heart. However, that dragon is indeed very strong. Although I don’t know what methods you used, to be able to match my eighth revolution Flame Dragon, your cultivation is far beyond my expectations."

Ah Dai sighed, saying, "Actually, on that day’s contest, I lost. It was I who transferred my True Qi into the dragon’s body, barely holding off your attack. In terms of magic cultivation, how could I compare to you? You are one of the mightiest Magicians I’ve ever seen."

Larthas didn’t seem offended by this reference, hands clasped behind his back, smiling, "The continent belongs to the young generation now. Initially, I thought my disciple Kino was exceptional among the young, but compared to you, he still falls short. If there is a chance, I hope you can guide him more in the future. You are from the Pope’s faction, aren’t you? How did you get involved with the Mage Guild of the continent?" His last question was directed to Xuan Yue. In the contest at Bilu Canyon, the Tian Jing Mage Guild had come out in full force, determined to win, but ultimately their victory was thwarted by Ah Dai and Xuan Yue.

Xuan Yue nodded, saying, "Yes, I am a sacrificer within the Pope’s domain. Joining the continental Mage Guild was just out of interest. If your Tian Jing Mage Guild hadn’t been so overbearing, we wouldn’t have intervened. We are all Magicians, why bother with divisions? You are one of the three great Magicians of the continent, surely you’ve heard of the millennium calamity? If we don’t harbor hatred, perhaps when the calamity descends..."

Larthas was startled, interrupting Xuan Yue, "What? Is there really a millennium calamity? I thought that was merely a legend." If this had been said by someone else, he would have dismissed it outright, but coming from Xuan Yue, who had reached the Magus Realm and was from the Pope’s faction, he couldn’t help but believe it.

Xuan Yue spoke solemnly, "The millennium calamity does exist. You should remember the blood sun and blood rain from the year 989 of the Sacred Calendar. That was supposed to be the time of calamity, which was barely postponed by the efforts of the Pope himself along with over a thousand sacrificers from the Pope’s domain. However, the Pope has predicted that at the turn of the millennium of the Sacred Calendar, the calamity will descend again, and it might not be so easily withstood. You are a great Magician, you should contribute to the survival of the continent."

Larthas’s eyes flickered with complex emotions, frowning deeply. He had never believed in any such calamity before, but hearing Xuan Yue’s words shocked him to his core, making him ponder for a long while before saying, "So, when the calamity descends, humanity could indeed face extinction? What exactly will this calamity entail, and is it true that even the powerful forces of the Pope can’t stop it?"

Xuan Yue shook his head, stating, "Whether it can be stopped is unclear to anyone, but the first Pope, the sovereign God Feather who saved us from the calamity a thousand years ago, once said that the calamity coming a millennium later would be even more terrifying than the one he averted. Though the Pope’s forces are currently very strong, whether they can withstand the millennium calamity is still an unknown. Our Pope’s faction is continuously preparing, waiting for the calamity to descend. If we could get the support of all Mages, or even all human powerhouses, our chances of surviving the calamity would greatly increase."

Larthas’s eyes gleamed, nodding, "I understand now, my young friend. Thank you for enlightening me with this information. If the calamity does indeed descend, our Tian Jing Mage Guild will certainly not stand idly by. Alright, brother, it’s time for us to leave."

Gorisong looked deeply at Ah Dai, sighing, "Take care, child."

Larthas smiled, saying, "You need not worry about them. These young people’s cultivation is gradually surpassing ours, and when the calamity comes, they will certainly be the main force in resisting it. Oh, and here, take this." With that, he took out two golden Magic Cards from his coat and handed them to Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, "Originally, I came here with Gorisong intending for you to join our Guild, but now I no longer hold such hopes. These cards are the same as those from the continental Mage Guild, representing the status of an elder. I’m not asking you to join the Tian Jing Mage Guild or do anything for me. Possessing these cards, my Mages will be at your command, and they will aid your actions on the continent. Do not refuse me; now I am no longer the old Larthas, but merely an elder who cares for you and the future of humanity. Accept them, you both are certainly worthy to be honorary elders of our Guild."

Looking at the Elder Magic Card in their hands, similar to those of the Continental Mage Guild, both Ah Dai and Xuan Yue were stunned by the tremendous change in Larthas, finding it difficult to adapt momentarily. Respect naturally welled up from the depths of their hearts; in the face of significant issues, Larthas’s demeanor truly lived up to one of the top figures of the continent.

Xuan Yue tucked the card into his chest pocket, seriously saying, "Master Larthas, thank you for your support. The Pope will surely be very pleased. I believe that with your current Spiritual Realm, it is only a matter of time before you can use a Forbidden Curse."

The gratitude in Ah Dai’s heart was even greater than Xuan Yue’s, not only because of the change in Larthas’s attitude but also because he had actively made concessions to resolve the disputes between the two guilds. No longer would he have to worry about conflicts among magicians. Perhaps, before long, all magicians will unite, forming a powerful force that could influence the entire continent.

Larthas smiled faintly and walked towards the door with Gorisong. The light red Barrier was withdrawn, and Ah Dai floated forward, personally opening the door for them, respectfully saying, "Master Larthas, Teacher Gorisong, please take care. I will forever remember today’s events in my heart."

Larthas smiled indifferently and strode out. Outside, Elder Feng Zhi, Olivia, and dozens of magicians anxiously awaited, springing into alertness upon seeing Larthas emerge, watching his every move. Larthas paid no heed to their wariness, leaving the Continental Mage Guild with Gorisong under Ah Dai and Xuan Yue’s courteous farewell.

"Elder Ah Dai, what did Larthas talk to you about?" Feng Zhi couldn’t contain his curiosity and asked somewhat anxiously.

Ah Dai sighed softly, responding, "Actually, he is a respectable elder. I think Tian Jing Mage Guild will not conflict with us anymore. Elder Feng Zhi, I have a favor to ask of you."

Feng Zhi paused, saying, "Go ahead."

Ah Dai said, "Master Larthas told us just now that their guild will no longer provoke us, and I hope you can also restrain our magicians from harboring animosity towards them. Can you do that?"

Feng Zhi furrowed his brows, looking at Ah Dai in puzzlement, "But how can you be sure he’s not lying? The disputes between the two guilds aren’t new. Perhaps, it’s merely a stalling tactic because his powers have yet to recover."

With dissatisfaction, Xuan Yue glanced at Feng Zhi, saying, "Elder, don’t forget, Larthas is a Magus. As a top-level magician, how could he lie?" She almost accused Feng Zhi of suspecting the honorable with a villain’s mind.
