Chapter 1257: Chapter 113: The Holy See Dispatches Troops

Watching Xuan Yue’s tranquil visage, Ah Dai took a deep breath, activating the True Qi in his partially recovered Golden Body to cultivate further.

As the golden True Qi coursed through his body, Ah Dai’s awareness of his surroundings gradually faded, fully submerging into the internal sea of gold. The Golden Body, under his deliberate urging, trembled slightly. With continuous circulation and integration, the energy began to grow. When the True Qi accumulated to a certain level, the Golden Body suddenly lit up. Ah Dai was astonished to find that the size of the Golden Body seemed larger than before, while the second Golden Body shrunk a little, with both maintaining a size of around three and a half inches tall. The golden bridge between them gradually appeared, with the flow of energy clearly visible. Ah Dai knew that the increase in volume of the Golden Body signified an enhancement of his skills; his consciousness became increasingly hazy until, amidst his delight, he entered a state of forgetfulness towards everything else. The Golden Body continued to increase its energy through its natural cycle, with divine light revolving, and all the vitality within slowly reviving under the function of the living True Qi.

......

Olivia stood outside the room where Ah Dai was resting. It had been three days since they returned from Bilu Gorge, and Ah Dai and Xuan Yue had not left their room. The power shown by Ah Dai and Xuan Yue that day filled his heart with unrivaled shock. For the first time in his life, he realized the potential for magic to wield such a devastatingly powerful force. The entire Bilu Gorge had almost been destroyed in the final clash between Larthas and Ah Dai. If it weren’t for the combined Barrier forged by the magicians that blocked the shockwaves, perhaps no one would have survived to return. In the Mage Guild of the continent, not a single elder could match Ah Dai and Xuan Yue’s cultivation level, especially when Ah Dai summoned the silver dragon that could contend with Larthas, who was known to possess the strongest offensive power on the continent. The strength he had was unimaginable. Olivia made up his mind that no matter what, he would seek them out as mentors and learn the true essence of magic from them. He secretly vowed that one day he too would reach the realms of Ah Dai and Larthas.

Before reaching the door of Ah Dai’s resting room, Olivia could feel the colossal energy contained within. He was slightly startled. To allow Ah Dai to recuperate in peace, Elder Feng Zhi had specially arranged the quietest room within the Mage Guild of the continent for him and instructed that no magicians were to disturb them. Olivia had sneaked over covertly. He approached the door cautiously, feeling the massive energy inside, unable to contain his curiosity, he gently opened a crack in the door.

A Sacred Aura came flooding through, almost making it difficult for Olivia to breathe. He hurriedly applied a few low-level Wind series Defense Magic spells to himself, which steadied his form. As he looked inside, the sight almost caused him to exclaim aloud — Ah Dai and Xuan Yue were sitting on either side of the large bed, each enveloped by white and gold light respectively. The light was so intense that he couldn’t distinguish who was Ah Dai and who was Xuan Yue. The surging energy was emanating from those two spheres of light. Within the golden light, there seemed to be a pair of wings composed of golden feathers gently flapping, each motion causing a wave of fluctuation in the room, and the Sacred Aura brought about an incomparably tranquil sensation. The white light on the opposite side was spiraling, though it seemed less divine than the golden light, its more solid energy evidenced an equally formidable strength. The marvel before Olivia’s eyes was so magical, admiration, envy, and reverence filled him continuously, his desire for power never having been as strong as it was at that moment.

Olivia knew that Ah Dai and Xuan Yue were meditating, and he should not disturb them. An idea struck him — since the two mentors were cultivating, and it may not be a brief moment before they woke up, why not show my sincerity in requesting mentorship by keeping vigil here to protect them? If they awoke to see him here, maybe they would accept him as a disciple. With this thought, Olivia allowed a proud smile to cross his lips, fetched a chair from the Guild, held his Staff of Wind God reverently, and began guarding the outside of Ah Dai and Xuan Yue’s room to protect them.

Holy Church, the Hall of Light.

After listening to Babuyi’s account, the Pope’s expression was extremely solemn. Xuan Ye and Na Yan respectfully stood on either side of the Pope, surprised expressions continuously flashing across their eyes. The reappearance of the Dark Witchers profoundly shook the upper echelons of the Church. How could they not pay serious attention to this race that brought catastrophe to the continent a millennium ago?

The Pope pondered, "It seems that the Thousand-Year Calamity is approaching, and we cannot just sit idly by. Perhaps, this catastrophe has been brought about by the Dark Witchers. Since they dare to reappear and slaughter humans, then we, as the Guards of the Sky God, must defend humanity’s dignity. Previously, God Feather the sovereign in a moment of mercy, did not completely annihilate the Dark Witchers but merely restricted their ability to reproduce. Now, after a millennium of recuperation, they are poised to bring a new calamity to the continent. We must not turn a blind eye. Xuan Ye, Na Yan."

Hearing the Pope’s call, Xuan Ye and Na Yan quickly stepped forward, bowing respectfully to the Pope, awaiting his command.
