Looking at Blood Skull’s desolate eyes, Ah Dai said somberly, "It seems that being a mercenary is not easy either! You earn money with your life on the line."
Ice Skeleton walked beside Blood Skull and whispered softly, "Big brother, don’t be sad anymore, what’s done is done."
Blood Skull murmured, "Yes, it’s already happened, what’s the use of being sad? Alright, now that the third one is back, let’s go find a place to drink merrily."
After dismissing the mercenaries, the five of them wandered slowly down the street towards Andis City. The people of Andis City were indeed as Xuan Yue had said, all in a hurry looking very busy, and no one paid attention to them.
"That place over there." Blood Skull pointed at a small tavern not far ahead.
The five entered the tavern. It was still morning, and there weren’t many customers. Blood Skull, looking at the simple decor, told Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, "It’s not that I’m stingy, but our Skeleton Mercenary Group probably won’t take any jobs for a while. Without an income, we’ll have to spend sparingly. Waiter, bring us five shots of tequila and some snacks."
With few customers, the drinks and food arrived quickly. Blood Skull picked up his glass and said, "We’re about to part ways, so here, my two brothers, I toast to you as a farewell." Ah Dai wanted to imitate Blood Skull and finish his drink, but as the fragrant liquid barely touched his lips, a strong burning sensation made him choke and start coughing violently. Xuan Yue fared even worse; even though she drank less, she coughed hard, her pretty face turning red, bending over and coughing loudly, tears streaming down her face. Seeing their reaction, Blood Skull first paused in shock, then burst into laughter, with Iron Skull and the usually cold Ice Skeleton unable to suppress their chuckles.
Blood Skull laughed and said, "Though our martial arts are not as good as yours, you are far behind us in drinking."
Xuan Yue barely managed to catch her breath and gasped, "Ah! Blood... Skull... Big brother... you want to... kill us! What is... this... stuff? So... hard to... drink." Still shaken, Ah Dai said, "Why is this alcohol so strong? I only had a little sip, and my chest feels like it’s on fire. Big brother, are you okay?"
Iron Skull said, "Tequila is famously a strong spirit. My big brother is a master drinker, and he cultivates Fire Nightmare Aura, so of course he can drink a whole glass with no problem. Haven’t you guys drunk before?"
Xuan Yue pushed her glass toward Blood Skull and said, "I, I don’t want to drink this thing ever again, it’s disgusting. So this is what alcohol tastes like!"
Iron Skull took off his helmet; his hair and eyebrows had grown a bit over these days. He took a sip of his drink and praised, "That’s because you don’t know how to enjoy it, the taste of this tequila is really pure, not bad at all. Big brother, if you don’t drink it, I’ll take his glass."
Blood Skull glared at him, "What? Want to challenge your big brother to a drinking contest? Forgot the lesson last time?"
Iron Skull was obviously not as good a drinker as Blood Skull and said sheepishly, "No one wants to compete with you in drinking. I almost died from drinking last time. Sister, you should take off your helmet too. Ah Dai here isn’t a stranger either, how can you drink with a helmet on?"
Under Ice Skeleton’s helmet, two clear eyes glanced at Ah Dai and Xuan Yue before slowly lifting her hands to remove her helmet, revealing a stunning face.
Seeing Ice Skeleton’s face, Ah Dai and Xuan Yue were both stunned. Hers was a particularly pale complexion, with green eyes showing profound depth. Although her face was expressionless, her delicate features combined with her unique cold demeanor made her as enchanting as a fairy from ice. Xuan Yue murmured, "Sister, so you are this beautiful! Ice Skeleton spoke indifferently, "I do not wish for the members under my command to see my face. I don’t want them to follow my orders because of my looks or to harbor improper thoughts. I became the deputy leader of the Skeleton Mercenary Group by strength." She paused, her clear gaze landing on Ah Dai’s dumbfounded face, and continued, "Ah Dai, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you. When we first met, what method did you use to defeat me? I’ve been pondering it for over a month and still can’t figure it out."
Ah Dai stared vacantly at Ice Skeleton’s face, her presence even colder than ice itself, the chill in her eyes took him back to the image of ice, and he stood there lost for words.
Thinking Ah Dai was mesmerized by Ice Skeleton’s beauty, Xuan Yue pinched his leg hard. The sharp pain brought Ah Dai back to his senses, and he cried out, looking at Xuan Yue, "Brother, why did you pinch me?" Xuan Yue glared back annoyed and said, "Ice Skeleton sister is asking you a question; what are you staring at? Haven’t you ever seen a beautiful woman before?"
