Chapter 1219: Chapter 104 Reignition of Dead Ashes

The Wind Skeleton said in grief and indignation, "Those beasts, they’ve actually killed hundreds of us." The Ice Skeleton, although she didn’t make a sound, was visibly trembling with emotion, indicating that her agitation and sorrow were in no way less intense than the Wind Skeleton’s.

Xuan Yue approached Ah Dai, panting slightly, having expended a significant amount of energy in her consecutive use of magic, especially the last, all-encompassing "Glare of Heaven and Earth."

Ah Dai asked with concern, "Brother, are you alright?" Xuan Yue leaned on Ah Dai’s shoulder, breathing deeply, "I’m fine, big brother, but your sword..."

Ah Dai, of course, knew what she was referring to. He shook his head and said, "Don’t worry, it can’t hurt me. That was really close! Who knew there would be so many experts coming out of the woodwork?"

Xuan Yue’s body shuddered, remembered the green figure she’d seen earlier, and then turned to the Ice and Wind Skeletons, "If I’m not mistaken, those attackers could be the Dark Witchers who disappeared from the continent many years ago."

Ah Dai exclaimed in disbelief, "What? Dark Witchers?" His mind instantly raced back to the pirate encounter on the ship with Goris and his words of caution. Recalling then the prophecy spoken by Pu Lin of the Pu Yan Clan, his calm heart suddenly sank. The Ice Skeleton’s eyes flared with a cold light as she looked at Xuan Yue, "Are you suggesting the Dark Witchers are making a resurgence?"

Xuan Yue nodded, "Most likely. It is said that after the Dark Witchers were largely annihilated by Emperor God Feather leading numerous heroes a thousand years ago, the remnants hid within the Tian Yuan Clan of the Federation, recovering over the years. If they have reemerged on the continent, it’s certainly with ill intentions. The so-called ’Millennial Calamity’ must be related to them."

By this time, the remaining bandits who were entangled with the Blood and Iron Skeletons had also retreated. Even the Green King and his men had suffered setbacks, how could these bandits dare to linger?

The Blood and Iron Skeletons, furious, brought their men over. They had wiped out over two thousand bandits and suffered only around a hundred casualties. They had observed everything that had transpired on this side, and the formidable strength displayed by Ah Dai and Xuan Yue impressed them immensely. Looking at the corpses of his subordinates, the Blood Skeleton wore a grim smile. Approaching Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, he bowed deeply and said formally, "On behalf of all the warriors of the Skeleton Mercenary Group, I thank you both for your magnanimous help despite our past grievances. From today onward, our enmity shall be put to rest. If ever you need our services in the future, simply ask, and the Skeleton Mercenary Corps will render aid with all our might." The Blood Skeleton knew all too well that without the intervention of Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, the Skeleton Mercenary Corps might have been annihilated here today, for the men in black might have defeated even their combined Elemental Formation, and worse still, would never have allowed them to unite their forces.

Ah Dai gave a wry smile, "Big brother Blood Skull, there’s no need for thanks. Moving forward, I’m afraid we’ll all have our fair share of trouble. If those figures were indeed Dark Witchers, the continent might soon be engulfed in a maelstrom of blood and violence. Those people have incredibly resilient bodies; ordinary attacks do nothing. It seems humanity must unite if we are to stand against them."

Xuan Yue added, "You’re right, big brother. Dark Witchers are said to be inherently ferocious and vengeful. Having lost so many of their men here, they’re unlikely to let this go easily. Their retaliation might be fierce. Your Skeleton Mercenary Group is a big target, so you must be extremely cautious from now on."

The Blood Skeleton turned to the Wind Skeleton, instructing, "Younger brother, go immediately back to our master and report the Dark Witchers’ emergence to him. Ask for his guidance. Alas—it seems the Millennial Calamity is indeed upon us."

Realizing the gravity of the situation, the Wind Skeleton handed command of the archery brigade to his second in command, mounted a large blue horse, and galloped back the way they had come.

As the Wind Skeleton’s figure vanished into the distance, a white figure leapt towards the group like a shooting star. His rapid advance revealed his extraordinary prowess.

Everyone looked towards the newcomer to find a young man dressed in white, carrying a longsword on his back, with a handsome face and a flying grace to his movement technique. Xuan Yue’s body trembled, recognizing the man who had eluded her for over a month—the youngest Judge of Light from the Church, Barbu.

Barbu swiftly approached, his eyes catching the male-disguised Xuan Yue, and he called out joyously, "Yu..." before the word fully escaped, five Holy Light Bombs hurtled towards him. Startled, Barbu quickly drew his longsword, forming a shield with a flurry of strokes to block the Holy Light Bombs. Xuan Yue’s voice echoed in his heart, "Brother Barbu, I’m currently disguised as a man and going by the name Xuan Re. No one here knows I’m a girl, please don’t reveal it."

Hearing Xuan Yue’s words, Barbu felt a surge of joy, realizing she hadn’t yet acknowledged Ah Dai, indicating he still had a chance. As he was about to speak, the imposing Iron and Ice Skeletons stepped forward. Their formidable aura made him shiver, so he promptly began channeling sacred energy, the white light on his sword pulsating as he prepared for any confrontation.
