Chapter 1217: Chapter 103: Tough Battle on the Mountain Road_3

At that moment, Xuan Yue’s first spell had finally arrived. A golden divine radiance enveloped everyone on the scene. The mercenaries and Ah Dai immediately felt a jolt in their spirits, as their strength and speed greatly increased. The injured mercenaries had a chance to catch their breath within this large-scale recovery magic. A warm energy nourished their bodies, swiftly restoring their vitality. However, the men in black seemed to stall, as if they were extremely annoyed by the golden light. It turned out that when Xuan Yue discovered their battle aura was of the dark attribute, she resolutely expanded her supportive recovery magic to encompass the men in black as well, and indeed it had an effect. Taking advantage of the moment the men in black’s movement slowed down, the Ice Skeleton finally killed an opponent with the Extreme ice silver lance. Ah Dai also took this opportunity to eliminate two more enemies. Only then did they manage to control the one-sided situation, gradually stabilizing their position with the support of the mercenaries’ lives.

Suddenly, a roar sounded as a towering man in black pounced towards Ah Dai. A chill went through Ah Dai’s heart, as he clearly felt the pressure that this man in black brought with him. His black battle aura condensed into a mass, striking straightforwardly towards his chest without any fancy manoeuvres. Ah Dai snorted coldly, his energy surged to his Dantian, mobilizing the immense energy of the Golden Body. A solid blue-green light burst forth, and the two different colours of battle aura collided in the air. Amidst a huge explosion, a powerful shockwave scattered the people below, throwing them into disarray. The men in black were better off, merely pushed back over a dozen meters, but the mercenaries were not so lucky. Instantly, more than a dozen of them were grievously injured. Fortunately, just then, Xuan Yue’s second spell arrived. Soft white light enveloped the two remaining squads of injured mercenaries, miraculously healing their wounds. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Ah Dai and the man in black were also thrown into the air. Ah Dai was startled to discover that the man in black’s strength was only slightly inferior to his own. Not even the newly solidified battle aura could break through his formidable defense. The man attacking Ah Dai was none other than the bandit leader of the Tian Jing Mountain Range, the Green King. He was even more surprised; for a long time, barring the experts within his own organization, he’d never met a match. This unassuming young man in front of him was actually exerting such tremendous pressure on him. Just one exchange had him slightly wounded. Had his body not been so strong, his injuries might have been more severe. When the men in black saw the Green King retreat, they immediately banded together. Apart from fewer than ten who had died, there were still over sixty of them, while in just this short time, they had already claimed the lives of more than two hundred mercenaries. Their black clothing stained with the blood of the mercenaries, they stood there like visitors from Hell.

The Ice Skeleton and the Wind Skeleton gathered on either side of Ah Dai, both with eyes blazing, furiously glaring at these ruthless enemies before them. Since their debut, the Skeleton Mercenary Group had never suffered such heavy losses. Rage coursed through their bodies, and even tearing these people into ten thousand pieces would hardly quell the hatred in their hearts.

The Green King looked coldly at Ah Dai and said, "I didn’t expect to encounter such a master here. But do you really think that with your strength you can oppose us? Now, if you give up your protection of the caravan, I will let you leave. Otherwise, the Skeleton Mercenary Group will be struck from the records of the continent starting today."

"Bullshit," shouted the Ice Skeleton, "You’ve killed so many of us; if we don’t wipe you out today, then I’m not the Ice Skeleton." She leapt high, the Extreme ice silver lance turning into a silver streak, and she charged toward the Green King as if merging with her weapon. Ah Dai and the Wind Skeleton, fearing she might make a mistake, quickly followed suit, and the struggle between the men in black and the two squads reignited. Thirty of them, including the Green King, encircled Ah Dai and the two Skeletons in the middle. The black battle aura almost covered all the space around them, the powerful attacks suffocating the Wind Skeleton and the Ice Skeleton. Had it not been for Ah Dai’s tremendously strong Ultimate Defense absorbing most of the attacks, they wouldn’t have been able to withstand the assault from so many experts for long.

Another five men in black broke away, leaping over the besieged mercenaries and pounced towards Xuan Yue, who wasn’t far off. Her recent Light Magic had made them deeply wary, compelling them to eliminate her swiftly.

At that time, Xuan Yue was far from idle. As Ah Dai and the Green King were both sent flying back, she found the time to quickly concentrate the Light elements in the air. She was acutely aware that to make it through the Tian Jing Mountain Range, they must eliminate the cruel men in black before them. As the two sides engaged once more, Xuan Yue was already prepared to attack. She swung her hands in the air, and a white six-pointed star exuding a Sacred Aura floated before her. Xuan Yue continuously drew symbols in the void, infusing them into the six-pointed star, the divine light growing ever more brilliant. Just then, the five men in black had already lunged towards her. Her heart clenched, but she could no longer stop casting the Spell. Gritting her teeth, relying on her intent, she activated the Phoenix’s Blood at her chest. A sudden blaze of red light illuminated the space around her, and as the air beside her heated up, a clear and piercing cry rang out. Red Energy from the Phoenix’s Blood at her chest scattered, condensing into the form of a Phoenix in mid-air, enveloping Xuan Yue in its scorching aura. Xuan Yue’s bonding time with the Phoenix’s Blood had been much longer than Ah Dai’s with the Dragon’s Blood, and she was already very adept in using the Phoenix’s Ultimate Defence, Phoenix Body. The red-golden light surrounding Xuan Yue’s delicate body instantly neutralized the black battle aura released by the five men in black. The thick Sacred Aura caused the men in black to stall, stepping back a few paces in surprise as they looked at Xuan Yue. Their inherent dark nature dictated their fear of the Sacred Aura, and combined with the energy of the Divine Artifact that was the Phoenix’s Blood, this made the men in black hesitate. They watched Xuan Yue in horror, fearing she might suddenly attack them.
