Chapter 1192: Chapter 98: The Three-Move Agreement

At the forefront of the light cavalry squadron, atop a snow-white warhorse, sat a female warrior, entirely encased in silver Armor. On the saddle hung a Silver lance, three meters and sixty centimeters long and as thick as a chicken egg. The lance’s tip bore spiral patterns, and though it quietly rested on the saddle, one could clearly feel the wisps of cold air it emitted. Her face was obscured by a Helmet, so her gender could only be inferred from the design of her Armor. She was one of the three vice-captains of the Skeleton Mercenary Group, commanding the light cavalry squadron known as the Ice Skeleton.

Dismounting, the Ice Skeleton walked toward the merchant convoy and stopped beside an elderly man who was directing his subordinates to load the goods. The Ice Skeleton was about one meter eighty tall, a good half-head taller than the old man. A chill voice seeped from the Helmet, "President Mu, how much longer does your convoy need to be ready?"

Mulat looked at the female grim reaper before him, his heart trembling involuntarily. In his mind, he had never considered the Ice Skeleton as a woman. The Stan Empire Alliance had collaborated with the Skeleton Mercenary Group on multiple occasions, and as one of the three chairmen of the Alliance, Mulat had participated in two of them. He had seen with his own eyes the Ice Skeleton’s merciless killing on the battlefield, where none survived under her Extreme ice silver lance, and what was most strange was that despite the many times they had cooperated, no one had ever seen her true face. "Ah! Vice-Captain Ice, greetings, we are already almost ready. We just need to wait for two more people to arrive, and then we can depart."

The Ice Skeleton, somewhat impatient, asked, "Wait for two more people? What people?"

Mulat rubbed his hands together and replied, "Like you, they are mercenaries. One of them is a Magician, which happens to make up for what your Mercenary Group lacks. Please don’t take offense; the cargo we are transporting is of great importance to our Alliance, so we must be especially cautious."

The Ice Skeleton looked at Mulat coldly, and two chilling beams shot out from the Helmet. Mulat shivered violently and took a step back involuntarily. The Ice Skeleton’s cold voice followed, "This gesture from the Stan Empire Alliance is a slight against our Skeleton Mercenary Group, and you should be aware of the consequences of slighting us."

Mulat forced a smile, "Vice-Captain Ice, please don’t take offense. They are only two people, and moreover, they are a Special Class Mercenary Group. It’s just this once, please accommodate us."

The Ice Skeleton paused, frowning, "Also a Special Class Mercenary Group, what are they called?"

Seeing a chance for things to turn around, Mulat quickly replied, "They are the Evil Sky Mercenary Group. Have you heard of them? Apparently, it’s just the two of them."

Although the Skeleton Mercenary Group did not interact much with other mercenary groups, being a Special Class Mercenary Group, they had many privileges within the Mercenary Guild. The Ice Skeleton had heard of the Evil Sky Mercenary Group. Indeed, it had only two members who seemingly rose to prominence after completing a very difficult mission, ascending from being Junior Mercenaries to their current status at a rate that even surpassed their own. However, they had only made an appearance three years ago and had not taken on any tasks since. She hadn’t expected to encounter them here and found herself mildly intrigued by the Evil Sky Mercenary Group. In a cold voice, she said, "Let’s discuss it once they arrive," before turning and walking back to her own squad. Mulat wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and breathed a sigh of relief, knowing all too well not to offend this female grim reaper.

Ah Dai and Xuan Yue settled their last bit of money left for lodging and stepped out. As soon as they exited, they spotted the impressive procession not far away.

Xuan Yue exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, so many carriages! This convoy really is large. Hey, brother, look, those Knights standing on both sides must be part of a mercenary group."

Ah Dai nodded, "That should be the case. They all have a certain level of skill; this Mercenary Corps seems quite strong! Not only has the convoy hired us, but they’ve also hired another mercenary group. It looks like the cargo this time is quite valuable."

Xuan Yue smiled and said, "Brother, you seem to think faster than before. Who cares? After all, we’re just walking along for a trip, earning some travel expenses. Let’s go over; it’s getting late, and they’re about to depart."

Both headed in the direction of the convoy. They deliberately suppressed their own cultivation, their Divine Light Innate concealed, making them appear no different from ordinary civilians on the surface.

Before long, they arrived among the convoy members, and Ah Dai asked one of the busy workers, "Excuse me, brother, where might I find Chairman Mulat?"

The man had just finished loading his goods and took a few glances at Ah Dai, mistaking him for a worker of the convoy. He pointed ahead and said, "Chairman Mulat is at the front giving orders. Find him yourself there."

As Xuan Yue and Ah Dai walked toward the front, Xuan Yue said, "Brother, Chairman Mulat actually turns out to be... well, it looks like there’s a place for our one thousand Gold Coins."

When the two reached the front, Ah Dai spotted Mulat and hurried over with Xuan Yue.

"Chairman Mulat."

Mulat turned around when he heard someone calling him and joyfully said, "You’ve arrived just in time; the convoy is about to set off." He examined Xuan Yue and said, "How has this Mage changed his clothes?"

Xuan Yue replied, "Have you seen a Mage become a mercenary? I don’t want to be recognized by the church, so it’s safer to wear civilian clothes."
