Chapter 1093: Chapter 77: The Divine Arrow Shocks the Enemy_3
A faint white light rose from Ah Dai’s body, and after achieving a peaceful state of mind, he summoned all his power for the first time. An unprecedented surge of energy flowed from his Silver Body throughout his entire being, and he felt that he could clearly sense the energy fluctuations emanating from every part of his body. The feeling of being able to control everything was so wonderful, though he didn’t know that the man before him was Byinlog, one of the three great Magicians of the continent, he felt completely assured that he could confront this Magician. His heart was filled with intense self-confidence.
Under Ah Dai’s astonished gaze, Byinlog rose from the eaves and floated in the air, chanting spells in the unintelligible language of the Empire of Sunset City. Ah Dai’s heart tightened. Byinlog was nearly fifty meters off the ground, a distance that made it difficult for Ah Dai to attack and the green light emanating from Byinlog’s body would attract other enemies, threatening Ah Dai’s own escape. This couldn’t go on. With that thought, Ah Dai silently recited a spell, "With Dragon’s Blood as the guide, open now, the gates of space and time." Blue light flared, and the heavy Mysteel Bow floated out, landing in Ah Dai’s hands. Grasping the Mysteel Bow as it shimmered with changing illusions, a long green and yellow arrow appeared on the bowstring. He shouted and pulled the Mysteel Bow into a full moon, concentrating his gaze on Byinlog in the sky. The immense power of the Shape-shifting Arrow took Byinlog by surprise; the sheer pressure from the drawstring of the dark bow almost left him breathless, and the green and yellow arrow in his eyes had become an arrow of death, seemingly ready to take his life at any moment. Since reaching the level of a Magician, Byinlog had never felt such helplessness. A chill ran through his heart, and he hastily accelerated the completion of his spell.
Ah Dai gritted his teeth and shouted, releasing the long arrow just as Byinlog’s spell was about to be completed. The sharp sound of tearing through the air was painfully intense to the ears, the green and yellow glow shooting towards Byinlog. Byinlog’s spell completed almost simultaneously, with violent Wind energy swelling up before him but, to his fear, the yellow Energy Arrow pierced through his spell as if unimpeded by it at an unfathomable speed. Instinctively trying to block with the Staff of Hades, the strong wind already whooshed past his ear, the piercing howl shaking his very soul. The Shape-shifting Arrow broke through Byinlog’s spell, sending a sharp jolt through his body; yet, the shock in his heart was far greater than the shock to his spiritual power, realizing had the green and yellow long arrow hit a vital spot, he would already be dead. Becoming complacent, he had nearly lost his life to that miraculous arrow. Full of questions, Byinlog wondered why the young man had shown mercy. Why had he not simply shot him dead? A human who could stand with the Elf Clan would not have poor archery skills. He just floated there motionlessly, lost in a daze.
Byinlog was frightened, while Ah Dai was filled with regret. Over a year had passed, and though he practiced his archery whenever he had the chance, perhaps due to the lack of talent, he still found it difficult to aim accurately no matter how long he practiced; It wasn’t mercy but a miss. Suddenly, the sound of the wind alerting him that others were approaching, seeing that the Magician in the air did not seem to be attacking anymore, he quickly made his move, following the direction in which the Elf Queen had vanished.
Quan Yi’s four Guards, representing water, fire, earth, and wind, swiftly arrived. Seeing Byinlog floating in the air, Shui Tian looked at the destroyed palace with bewilderment and respectfully asked, "Master Byinlog, have you seen the enemy? Has the Elf Princess already...?"
Snapping out of his daze, Byinlog’s magic robe was soaked with cold sweat. He sighed and said, "The enemy is more powerful than expected; they’ve already fled. I am now ordering, in the name of His Majesty, to mobilize any and all available forces to pursue them, and at the same time, declare martial law throughout the city. We must capture those Elves at any cost. Conduct a thorough search in every dwelling, especially groups of unfamiliar people numbering around a dozen or more. Any sighting of Elves must be investigated without regard to expense to keep them from escaping. I’ll go see His Majesty now." With that, he recited a spell and flew towards the palace where Quan Yi resided. As he flew, Byinlog’s heart was far from calm. The tremors from the arrow that young man had shot continued to shake him; though he was eighty years old, he was not yet ready to die. If that arrow had taken his life, he would’ve lost everything. Why didn’t he kill me when I am clearly his enemy? A sense of gratitude rose in Byinlog’s heart toward Ah Dai, having narrowly escaped death.
At the entrance to Quan Yi’s palace, soldiers who had strained from the plants and those who had not been controlled by them had already gathered, ready for action, guarding it sternly. Upon seeing Byinlog’s arrival, they promptly showed their respect. Byinlog, parting the crowd, entered the palace.
