Chapter 1078: Chapter 74: Searching for the Princess_3

Yan Li hated it when people remarked on his height, and in a fit of rage, he lifted an attendant into the air with one arm. If he had thrown the attendant, the man would have likely been severely injured, if not dead. Yan Shi quickly grabbed Yan Li’s arm and frowned, "Ah Li, don’t be rash, put him down. We’re not here to cause trouble."

Yan Li glanced at Yan Shi, huffed loudly, and put the attendant down, releasing his hand. The attendant staggered back several steps and finally stabilized himself with the help of his colleagues, his previously arrogant face now pale, and his voice trembling, "You, you..."

Yan Shi snapped, "You what? You look down on people, if you don’t want to die then get lost." With that, the four of them boldly walked toward the counter. They hadn’t taken many steps when more than a dozen attendants surrounded them aggressively. At that moment, a steward who seemed to be in charge came from the direction of the counter, frowning and asking, "What’s going on?"

The two attendants who were involved earlier ran to the steward’s side and recounted the incident. The steward looked over Ah Dai and the others disapprovingly and said impatiently, "We don’t serve those without money, don’t you know that? You can’t afford to be here, just leave." He waved his hand as if shooing away flies.

Insult upon insult made Yan Shi’s temper flare. He strode forward, pulled out the savings card he had obtained from Uncle Fatty, and threw it at the steward, snapping coldly, "You’re blind, take a good look." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

The steward was taken aback, but his experience prevented him from getting angry over Yan Shi’s insult. He picked up the savings card from the floor, his eyes suddenly showing a hint of surprise, "Ah! This, this is."

Yan Shi sneered, "You might want to check it, there are at least a million Gold Coins in this card, are we qualified to stay here now?" The Empire faced high expenses; over the past year, they had depleted their original funds, and Ah Dai felt embarrassed to keep asking the Mage Guild for more. So, they chose to punish the gambling houses of the Empire again, winning quite a sum, although far less conspicuous than during their time in the underground wealth circles, still amounting to several million Gold Coins.

The steward’s face changed rapidly, and he respectfully handed the savings card back to Yan Shi, then turned to the attendants and shouted, "Why are you still standing here? Am I feeding you for nothing? Can’t you recognize VIPs?" He turned to Yan Shi with a flattering tone, "I’m very sorry, it was all due to these subordinates’ rudeness. Please forgive our negligence, dear guests, please follow me." Saying so, he led the way ahead.

Yan Li sneered disdainfully, as this sort of superficial behavior was all too common in Sunset City, where money and power meant everything. The four of them were led by the steward to a counter on the left, and the steward asked, "Dear guests, what can we do for you?"

Yan Shi said, "We want to stay here. Isn’t this place an inn? Book three rooms." Generally, hotel rooms in the Empire accommodated two people; throughout their journey, Yan Shi and his brothers shared a room, and Ah Dai and Zhuo Yun each had their own rooms.

The steward laughed, realizing the misunderstanding, "So it was all a misunderstanding. You must be from out of town. Our Sunset City is different from other cities; since it’s the capital of the Empire, we can’t openly operate gambling houses and brothels, so most have changed their signs—like us, still operating these two businesses primarily. Wouldn’t you like to try?"

All four were taken aback; Sunset City did have gambling houses and brothels after all, just disguised and hidden. Ah Dai frowned, "Then do you have rooms here?"

"Of course," the steward replied, "but they’re normally reserved for high rollers, and the prices are naturally higher."

Yan Shi handed over the savings card again, "High prices are not a problem, the important thing is that the environment needs to be quiet. We don’t like noise, understand?" The summoning of the Elf Queen was a secret affair that could not be exposed to outsiders.

The steward quickly took the card, "Understood, totally understood. Our VIP rooms are known for their serene environment. Three rooms, is it? No problem." He quickly processed the check-in, and the daily rate for three rooms astonishingly came to three hundred Gold Coins. Yan Shi now understood why the attendants had initially prevented them from entering; the expenses here were indeed not affordable for ordinary people, probably even surpassing the secretive wealthy night clubs.

The steward personally led them to the VIP rooms located behind the inn. From the outside, the inn seemed unremarkable, but inside it was incredibly spacious, mainly divided into a gambling area and a brothel. Of course, these two areas were connected, and without assets of several hundred thousand Gold Coins, one would truly find it hard to indulge here.

They passed through a long corridor, with halls on either side dedicated to the inn’s two types of businesses. According to the steward, there were also plenty of ordinary rooms in the brothel, but only available for those visiting for that particular service. More than a dozen dolled-up girls flirted at the entrance of the brothel, but their plain looks failed to interest even Yan Li, who was more amorous of nature. Following the steward, they reached a small building in the backyard, known as the VIP building. The steward led them inside and up to the second floor, where he opened three rooms for them.
