Chapter 1039: Chapter 66 Golden Swallowing_2

Ah Dai’s hand conjured up a yellow Energy Sword, resting it against the throat of Cat Woman Mimi, staring coldly at her. Cat Woman Mimi’s eyes revealed a panic-stricken expression, unable to move due to the immense pressure exerted by the Energy Sword.

Sheng Xie cried out in delight, and without paying further attention to Cat Woman Mimi, turned around and rushed towards his subordinate, the Bone Dragon. With the coordination of Sheng Xie from the sky and Bone Dragon on the ground, the remaining black-clothed individuals were swiftly eliminated.

Ah Dai held Cat Woman Mimi at bay, his eyes reflecting a look of resentment as he murmured, "Why? Why did you deceive me, why?" The feeling of being deceived was so unbearable to his kind heart; it hurt him deeply. Everything had settled down; Yan Shi and his brothers had recovered from the severe poisoning, looking pale as they walked over with Bing. Sheng Xie and Bone Dragon also gathered around, and Yan Shi, filled with hatred, said, "Ah Dai, kill her, this wretched woman almost got us all killed."

The Energy Sword in Ah Dai’s hand pressed down even harder, while Cat Woman Mimi’s eyes showed a look of terror, "No, don’t! I was forced too, if I didn’t help Horton, I would have died miserably! Please spare my life, I will never dare to do it again." Cat Woman Mimi begged pitifully, tears flowing from her green eyes nonstop, intensely stirring Ah Dai’s heart which softened at the sight of her plight.

Bing approached Ah Dai and spoke coldly, "She’s definitely not acting under Horton’s orders; I had never seen her before. This woman is too malicious, just kill her."

Ah Dai clenched his teeth and demanded of Cat Woman Mimi, "Speak, why did you ultimately help Horton?"

Choking with sobs, Cat Woman Mimi replied, "I, I’ll tell you. Actually, I was originally the Princess of the Cat Man Tribe, but later I was captured by a group of evil individuals. They tortured me cruelly and placed a restriction on my body, controlling me against my will! I didn’t even know the origins of those evil people, only that their leader is referred to as the Sect Hierarch. Please spare me, I’ll never hurt anyone again."

At that moment, a sudden rush of dense footsteps came from the surroundings, startling everyone. Bing’s face changed as she said, "This is bad, it must be Lord Horton bringing reinforcements, let’s get out of here."

The shockingly dense footsteps signified the approach of many people! The group was well aware that only a well-trained army could produce such uniform and synchronized marching sounds. Ah Dai was so focused on the impending troops that he relaxed his grip on the Energy Sword a bit. Cat Woman Mimi’s eyes flashed with a strange gleam, and her body, which lay on the ground, suddenly shifted a feet side without any warning, escaping Ah Dai’s control. She leapt up and clawed fiercely at Ah Dai’s face, her speed indescribable by anything less than a flash.

Ah Dai instinctively arched his body backwards, his hand with the Energy Sword sweeping upwards. However, Cat Woman Mimi’s speed was pushed to the limit under the threat of death and was too fast; Ah Dai had moved too late. As the Energy Sword had only just started to move, Cat Woman Mimi’s claws had already reached his face. Suddenly, someone leaped in front of Ah Dai, using their body to block Cat Woman Mimi’s attack. A spurt of blood appeared as Cat Woman Mimi’s right claw was already embedded in the figure who had jumped in front. She was slightly startled but didn’t hesitate to pull out her claws, transforming into a green flash, she leapt toward a nearby roof ridge, avoiding an attack from Sheng Xie’s Dragon Breath. Within a few bounds, she disappeared from everyone’s sight. Cat Woman Mimi had escaped, and the person who had shielded Ah Dai from the attack slowly collapsed into Ah Dai’s arms. Blood continued to spurt from her body—it was Bing. At the most crucial moment, Bing had saved Ah Dai’s life once more. Her upper right chest was completely penetrated by Cat Woman Mimi’s claws. Ah Dai hugged Bing tightly, his blood boiling in an instant as he shouted, "No—," his cry piercing the silent nighttime sky. At this moment, a large number of Soldiers of the Dark City in armor had surrounded them. Yan Shi and his brothers swiftly drew their weapons, their eyes bloodshot with anger as they glared at the enemy in front of them. If not for the protection of the Giant Spirit Snake Chainmail, they would have been dead under Cat Woman Mimi’s claws; their rage had reached its peak.

Ah Dai held Bing tightly, quickly sealing her blood vessels with his True Qi, but the wound was too large. Although the bleeding had slowed significantly, it continued to flow. Ah Dai spared no effort in frantically channeling his True Qi into Bing. Bing’s face was frighteningly pale; her previously cold expression now replaced with a smile as she looked at Ah Dai, her eyes full of forlorn sorrow, "Don’t waste your strength, please can you take me away from here, I don’t want to die in this filthy place, take me away from the Dark City."

The encircling Soldiers of the Dark City, seeing Sheng Xie and the Bone Dragon, were frightened and halted their steps, raising their weapons high and bracing for an imminent attack. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Ah Dai was filled with hate, hating himself for being so weak. If he had ended Cat Woman Mimi’s life with a single strike, Bing wouldn’t have been gravely injured. If his magical skills had been more advanced, he could have utilized the Dragon’s Blood to heal Bing with Light Magic, but now, he was helpless, only able to watch Bing’s life energy fade away gradually. Grinding his teeth, Ah Dai picked Bing up gently, leaped lightly, and floated onto Sheng Xie’s back, whispering, "Good brother, it’s all up to you now."
