Chapter 1021: Chapter 62 Assets of Tens of Millions_4

In a secret chamber on the fourth floor of the Dark Tycoons’ Nightclub, a middle-aged man with a pale complexion sat in a chair, listening to Jin Bo’s report. Jin Bo, with the utmost look of deference, detailed everything Ah Dai and his companions had done.

The middle-aged man frowned and said, "What exactly is their purpose for coming here? If it’s merely for pleasure, that’d be easy to handle. If that mage is willing to work for me, I wouldn’t mind giving him the elves. However, are their intentions truly that simple? Jin Bo, what do you think?"

Jin Bo, bowing his head, replied, "Master, I’m not clear on what their exact purpose is either. However, I can sense that among the three of them, aside from the dwarf, the other two are not swayed by the pleasure offered here; they seem not to be the sort who would be moved by beauty. Just now, my subordinates reported that several mages in the Noble Hall actually referred to that young man as ’Elder’ and were extremely respectful. Could he be an Elder of the Mage Guild? If that’s true, their visit here isn’t so straightforward. Members of the Mage Guild generally don’t have a good impression of our Empire of Sunset City! Master, they’ve already won millions of Gold Coins. Whatever their purpose may be, we can’t let them leave easily."

The middle-aged man nodded and said, "This is getting more interesting. Don’t rush things, let’s see what happens at tonight’s auction. No matter how capable they are, they won’t be able to escape the palm of my hand. Go and prepare for the auction."

"Yes, Master," Jin Bo respectfully responded and turned to leave.

Standing next to the middle-aged man, Hawk said, "Master, my view differs from Jin Bo’s."

The middle-aged man looked up at him and said, "Let’s hear it." Hawk was one of his most capable subordinates, with meticulous thinking, an exceptional talent.

Hawk pondered for a moment and said, "Based on my interactions with Ah Dai and his companions, they don’t seem to be representing the Empire of Huasheng nor do they have any intent to threaten us. It looks like they have some special purpose, as if they are searching for something. Although I’m not sure what that purpose is, I can almost ascertain it won’t be a threat to us. I believe it’s best not to provoke them; otherwise, I fear we will suffer significant losses."

The middle-aged man stood up, looking at Hawk and said, "Why do I feel that, after you’ve interacted with those three, you’ve had a change of heart? Don’t forget, we represent darkness, and even if they are not here to threaten us now, we absolutely can’t let them off easily. Such powerful people, if they can’t be harnessed by me, must be destroyed. Hawk, you’ve been with me for so many years, you should be quite clear on how I handle things. I hope you are not losing your edge. Remember, there’s no good end for those who oppose me."

A chill ran through Hawk, and cold sweat began to seep from his body. He hurriedly responded respectfully, "Yes, Master, I have been mistaken."

The middle-aged man picked up a water cup from the table and took an elegant sip, patted Hawk on the shoulder and sighed, "I remember everything you’ve done for me, but sometimes, once a mistake is made, it can’t be undone. Go, gather our men, always be ready for my command. I’m now going to see the City Lord to report on matters here. I heard a distinguished guest has arrived at the City Lord’s Mansion, and I need to welcome him."

Feeling uneasy, Hawk nodded quickly and said, "Yes, Master." After speaking, he swiftly left the secret chamber.

Watching Hawk leave, the middle-aged man muttered to himself, "That young fellow named Ah Dai possesses remarkable charisma, to be able to touch Hawk’s heart. After this matter is concluded, perhaps Hawk should be allowed to rest." As he said this, a murderous light flashed in his eyes, and the water cup in his hand turned to dust.

Ah Dai and his friends were chatting desultorily when Jin Bo suddenly appeared in their line of sight. With his same cringing demeanor, he smiled respectfully and said, "Sirs, why not continue enjoying yourselves? Is it that our hospitality was not sufficient?"

Yan Shi shook his head and said, "That’s not it. We’ve just traveled a long way and are somewhat tired. We would like to rest for a while. Besides, as you can see, we’ve won so much, if we continue, your boss might have to deal with us uninvited guests. So, it’s best to quit while we’re ahead. What is it, Brother Jin? It’s only the afternoon."

Jin Bo offered a sheepish laughter and said, "It’s nothing much, but if you’re tired, I can take you to rest. We have special rooms here for esteemed guests."

Yan Shi nodded and said, "That would be good, we indeed need to rest properly. Then, please lead the way."

Jin Bo, insisting it was no trouble at all, led the three men out of the Noble Hall. Passing through a corridor, they saw numerous doors on both sides. Jin Bo stopped, commanded his subordinates to open three doors, and said, "Please rest here, gentlemen. I will come to invite you to the auction tonight." He then turned towards the three young ladies, including Bing, and said, "Take good care of our guests, understand?"

The two young ladies, excluding Bing, hastily agreed, while Jin Bo gave Bing a meaningful look, to which she nodded slightly in response.

Yan Shi frowned and said, "Brother Jin, let’s not bother with this. You should know where our interests lie. Let’s save it for tonight."
