Chapter 2483: Chapter 2483: I Heard You’re Planning Something

There were others who had left the train to act on their own. Some knew it was a useless effort; ultimately, they would return to the train. As for what they encountered, those who returned didn’t mention it, but it seems there could be even greater resistance outside the train.

In comparison, merely being trapped on the train without the freedom to leave seems less dangerous.

This way of thinking is naturally correct, but there’s no guarantee that this situation can continue indefinitely. The actions of the local players are not just to interfere with their goal of passing through; there must be another purpose. In order to achieve this purpose, will their methods become aggressive?

Rather than passively waiting, it’s better to take initiative, instead of following others’ pace completely.

Some responded, others opposed, but ultimately only Ling Ling and a few others agreed to act together with Xu Huo. The rest, along with the player groups they represented, decided to return to the train.

After those people left, Ling Ling came over to Xu Huo and said, "I don’t like this passive stance either. After these attacks, I feel those players have strength far surpassing ours, and there are many of them... The most crucial part is, we are being toyed with. I understand these powerful player families or forces too well; they’re definitely involved because of some interest at stake."

"When it comes to interests, some gain while others lose. If someone becomes desperate, they might attack us. If we step back once, there will be countless steps backward. It’s better to step forward and make them weigh the consequences."

"The first bird to pop its head gets shot," said the player with the tattoo on his brow. "We only have a few people."

"So we need to recruit more people," Ling Ling replied. "There’s a lot of players here; just us combined could reach around ten players. I don’t believe District 001 can send out more than this. Wouldn’t such a large-scale player conflict catch the local government’s attention?"

When nothing happens, they can turn a blind eye, but once something occurs, the local government can’t completely ignore it, right?

They’re now in District 001, stuck in this instance. If they can’t pass through, they might stay here indefinitely. Competing with local forces is something to consider, and involving the local government is a more reliable way.

Xu Huo agreed, "Let’s recruit some more players before we set off; they don’t necessarily have to have been attacked."

The other players were greatly surprised; assaulted groups should be easier to recruit, so why look for those who weren’t attacked?

Nevertheless, within an hour, six of the nine players who joined had not been targeted by local players, including a player named Wen Xin, whom Xu Huo had seen at the library before.

"What a coincidence," Wen Xin greeted Xu Huo cheerfully, "Heard you’re planning something, so I came over."

Indeed, many like Wen Xin were thrill-seekers. Some had already run this route multiple times and had nothing else to do, and the local players’ attacks provided a breakthrough.

"Are you part of this instance too?" Xu Huo asked Wen Xin.

"I’m here on vacation," Wen Xin said. "Initially, I wanted to rest during the instance’s downtime, but I just can’t stand a boring life."

With him are two others who didn’t disclose their instance situation but were excited about the imminent confrontation with local players.

Among the remaining six, a group of three hadn’t been attacked and came looking for an instance breakthrough, while the other group of three had been assaulted on the train; one was severely injured, with half of his hand cut off, possibly seeking revenge by collaborating with Xu Huo and others.

The nine who arrived later, combined with Ling Ling’s four and Xu Huo’s six, formed almost a twenty-strong team. With so many players, any attempts to attack them casually won’t be easy.

After an encounter with Bubble Bean, the two from the Wan Family subtly suggested splitting up.

"Burning bridges, huh." Bubble Bean sneered, "Whether the locals are targeting us, anyway, that’s not certain!"

"Please consider our position," the Wan Family representatives patiently explained.

Firstly, they represent the Wan Family, which, though only holding some prestige in a small place, has family members who served as mayors for several generations, and they have connections with government officials. Getting involved in local and Outer Zone conflicts could lead to more trouble than they can handle.

Secondly, they are District 001 players. In an unclear situation, they can’t help outsiders unconditionally, especially considering people from District 001 haven’t truly harmed them.

Finally, there’s the matter of trust. Their task is to escort Old Lady Gui to deliver goods; they don’t want to intervene in other matters.

Xu Huo looked at the old lady, "Ma’am, travel with us. Regardless of who their target is, we’re traveling together. Even if you split up, you might not truly escape. If someone makes a move, with fewer people, you’re easy to restrain. Aren’t you in a hurry to deliver goods? Traveling with us at least ensures a smooth journey without much delay."

After a brief hesitation, the old lady agreed. She told the Wan Family representatives, "Walking with so many people is safer; don’t just focus on delivering me. You need to consider your own safety too."

The Wan Family duo had received orders to ensure her safety, and since she said this, they could only nod in agreement.

The group set out again, four vessels positioning two in front and two behind. Passing by the next stop, they didn’t halt for a rest but instead accelerated.

"Wait! I need to find someone!" Seeing the vessel not stopping, the old lady immediately caused a commotion.

"No rush," Bubble Bean replied. "If nobody intercepts us after leaving the stop, we’ll double back."

This left the old lady half despondent, "And if someone intercepts us?"

"Then we’ll kill them and head back," Xu Huo said offhandedly.

The vessels connected to the communication system. Hearing this, Wen Xin and others cheered, unlike the old lady’s group who remained silent.

The interception came swiftly. Under the influence of the Interference Device, several vessels suddenly stalled, plunging toward the ground, and then abruptly resumed normal operation mid-air, forcing them to stop as they neared the ground.

"What do we do now?" someone from another car asked.

Bubble Bean observed the empty seats, "Let’s go out and see."

No players approached, but Xu Huo, the Girl in the painting, Wen Xin, and others all quickly departed the vehicles during the interference. From afar, faint sounds of battle occasionally reached their ears. Just a few minutes later, they returned inside, activated the anti-interference device, and Xu Huo said, "Run away as fast as possible!"
